Amazing restaurant near our getaway and we had the house special it was $75 but it was enough for 2 hungry people or 3. We also had a Caesar salad. Service was excellent super nice and and the ambience was very comfortable and romantic

My go to venue when up along the Hudson! This place has an incredible vibe to it. From the moment you walk in and are genuinely greeted to the end of the night hugging the owners! 2 weeks ago I found this gem with a friend on a Sunday evening while in the area on a state conference. Let me say there are steakhouses on Long Island that have an old familiar name and can't come close to Avenues! It's not all about steak! Seafood, pork, veal house specials a chef from the CIA! What more can one picky foodie say! Drinks were amazing and all of the staff treated us as if we were Royalty! I am looking forward to coming back because in my opinion, nothing else comes close to this congenial modern but old world personality restaurant. Must try the clams both ways, tartar and plain. Everything is amazingly delicious along with the friendliest staff! A must try!

My wife and I ate at The Avenue again last night in Saugerties, because it was a nasty night, and we didn't want to travel out of town. She had their Tortelloni which is one of her favortie dishes there, and I had their Zuppa Di Pesce Special. Fabulous, and easily enough for two people! Took half of it home. It came with a whole lobster cut in half, lots of mussels, and clams, along with scungilli, jumbo shrimp, calamari, all over a very good portion of spaghetti. Terrific service always from Mary, Tori, Helen, and the rest of their staff!

Delicious!!! Great service! Came by a bit too often though. Got the specials is the night. Ordered prime rib and short rib. Both were excellent. Short rib was so tender. Mashed potatoes were good with the veggies. Drinks were good. Nice ambiance. Seafood martini was good. I prefer my seafood hot but thought I'd try it... not too bad if u like cold seafood.

This place is always full for a good reason Food is incredibly high quality, very flavorful Cowboy Steak on a bone is just amazing and the portions are massive - so be ready to take some food home. Lobster bisque was also soooo good with a ton of lobster chunks - more lobster than I've ever had in a lobster bisque. Must try if in the area

Had heard good things about the Avenue for the last year so decided to check it out as it was a special occasion. We made an early reservation for 5pm as we had skied at Hunter all day. Light crowd when we arrived as they had just opened for the night. The layout is cozy and we were familiar with the building from the previous restaurant that was at this location. Waitress offered us cocktails immediately as we looked at the menu. They had a nice local IPA on tap which we both got. Menu is pretty big with nice alternates to steak but their beef is the star of the menu. We started with a tuna stacker that was light and tasty and the drizzle sauce was spicy and a nice addition. We also had a shrimp cocktail with super dense and oversized shrimp. The cocktail sauce was spicy and flavorful and was on a bed of cabbage slaw. I'd definitely suggest the shrimp app. Knowing they were known for their steaks, I went for the ribeye and my wife had the larger of the two filets on the menu. Meals are served with a salad and a mashed potato and vegetable medley side. We added the asparagus as a side as well as sautéed mushrooms. Both steaks were seasoned nicely, perfect cuts of meat and cooked medium rare, exactly as ordered. The mashed potatoes and vegetable medley were nothing exciting but tasted fine. The asparagus were plentiful, cooked somewhere in between firm and soft which is perfect in my mind. Definitely recommend the mushrooms as an add on as they added to the beef experience. No room for dessert but I believe they had a decent selection there too. The steaks are a bit pricey for the area but well worth it as they were prepared perfectly and prime cuts of meat. Tips: Get a reservation as the dining room is fairly small and even less capacity with Covid restrictions. Off street parking available and walking distance from Main Street Saugerties Quiet atmosphere so I would leave the kids at home unless they are super well behaved. Not sure if there was a kids menu offering as we left ours at home. We were greeted and thanked by hostess and bartender on arrival and departure which was a nice touch. This is on our list for a return visit.

Located in the Main Street/Partition Street corridor, there is a cool downtown vibe. Street parking and a Public Lot nearby make for easy access. I got the Egs Benny and it was served with amazing potatoes and a light and tasty salad. Eggs were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Waitress was attentive and accommodating. I also ordered a Bloody Mary and a local craft beer because I could. The Bloody was decent, not mind blowing but still tasty. Oh and I ordered a dozen oysters while I was at it. They were of the small variety but tender, clean and amazing. Prices were reasonable to the area. Definitely will be back. No photos this time, sorry.

Walking in we were seated promptly though we immediately noticed that the interior was extremely dark. Not a big deal but worth flagging for older folks who might have a hard time reading. Our server was friendly and relatively attentive and walked us through the menu. We started off with some classics including their bread and butter (which was tasty and delicious) and ordered their P.E.I Mussels ($19) along with their Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) to share. The portions were quite large for everything (great if you're in a larger party) but we immediately noticed that the mussels they served seemed a bit off. Many of them were not opened all the way (a sign that they might not be the freshest or recently passed) and had a bit of a fishy taste to them. We ended up not finishing them and flagged them to our waiter. The other items, including the 14oz Ribeye ($43) and baby back ribs ($28) were better, though a bit one-note. The bay back ribs in particular were extremely saucy and the corn bread was dry and a bit tough to eat. I had to use a knife to split it apart as it kept crumbling every time I used a fork. Regardless, it seems like a popular spot for a reason and perhaps we just went during more of an off-night. I'd still recommend checking it out but avoiding the mussels if you go.

We were not disappointed. We were seated promptly by our lovely hostess, and Shaun immediately came over to recite specials and to take our orders. He was attentive and we knew we were in good hands! We started with the Dr. Fox Cocktail: Angostura bitters, Bulleit Rye, Apple Liqueur, Dry Curacao, and Sweet Vermouth, which was perfect. It was accompanied by a hummus trio to spread on the bread. There was also a delicious foccacio. Next we were served a perfect salad, delicately dressed, and what made the salad so delightful was that the lettuce was torn into manageable pieces. A pet peeve of mine is large lettuce leaves that are difficult to wrangle, and this was not the case here. There were also tiny bits of cauliflower that gave the salad a nice texture and crunch.  I had the Stuffed Artichoke and my husband had Shrimp Gamberi on an Arugula salad. Both were substantial and beautifully seasoned. We had two glasses of an Argentine Tomero Malbec. It was a generous pour. For the main course, I had Polla al Limone (Lemon Chicken) over spinach. A simple dish done well. My husband had the Halibut special, a classic Mediterranean baked halibut with tomatoes, capers, and olives. So good that he finished it all...a rarity for him. (The halibut was pricey and it would be appreciated if the price was mentioned when the specials were gone over. Perhaps we should have asked.) We finished with a Sorbetto al Lampone, a tart raspberry sorbet in a dark chocolate shell and sliced.  And as we left, our sweet hostess brought over Lucianno, the most adorable puppy, to send us off with puppy kisses! We definitely will be back...especially for the wild boar ragu over pappadelles. One nitpicking observation. The entrance to the restaurant was a tad shabby. We mistook it for the service entrance. It needs to be spruced up to match the superb food inside!

Ima keep ranting about this part of New York. This area really don't got a lot of good flavor. And…read morewhat I mean by that, like the cooking just ain't cooking for most of these spots. And idk what it is, it could be just the local folks don't got that much flavor in their taste buds and they the anti-City folk type so most of the businesses just lack in that field. With that said... this was a pretty decent Italian spot I will say WITH that consideration in mind. I did have the ravioli with slow cooked carne inside and that was delicious. My wife got the lasagna and... it was iiiitte. Family next to us were raving about it and like they were nice and we were being polite. But like let's be real here - it tasted like Stouffer's. Not that it's a knock, but at that point, you paying for the atmosphere. Which I will say the indoors is nice. You can have a nice date night or family outing here. There's a bar and plenty of parking. The service was on point and very accommodating with our new born. Who we were chopping it up with our waiter, and found out the owner's name is also the same as our kid so that was fun talking with them on. The garlic bread - idk if it's supposed to come cold, but it had like tomato sauce on it, it was like the complimentary bread with some extra shit on it. But I wasn't feeling that, but my inner Italian side just kept dipping it in my red, and it was all good. I'm glad we came here but probably won't be back if given the chance. But we looked around, and it seemed like to be the only viable Italian restaurant in the area so, if given under the same conditions, we would be back lol. I just went back and forth there like 3 times. Is that non-Ai enough of a review for you Yelp? After they flagged me for actually structuring and editing my reviews like in old school English class. Now yelp is promoting "Yelp Assistant" even though it's Ai. Gtfo here lmao

I saw another review that you could have a wedding here and I agree. The service was nice-- we had two servers-- one sister training the other? I attempted to order a drink twice-- they had neither in stock-- before getting a Diet Coke. The big area of opportunity here is the food. My husband ordered the scallop risotto, which came... wet. It looked like rice swimming in water-- the flavor was similar, unfortunately. The cook on the scallops ranged widely in the dish. I ordered the salmon-- the cook on the salmon was nice but the quinoa was inedible, as were the veggies it was served with. Our meal was late and it felt like the food was held over from earlier preparations. We got the bread pudding, which was fine-- but the proportion of ice cream to pudding ratio was way off. The restaurant has so much potential but the food is the big problem to solve for, in my opinion.

We'll preface this review by saying that an experience this poor usually starts with ownership or…read moremanagement and trickles down to the staff. Who knows what the employees have to deal with on a day-to-day basis to result in service this bad. We were extremely disappointed with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff came across as rude and unwelcoming. We asked if we could sit at one of the tables closest to the waterfall, and the response was simply, "Well, it's dirty." Mind you, about 90% of the restaurant was empty. We expected something like, "No problem, give us a moment to clean it off." We're very easygoing and would have completely understood waiting a few minutes. Instead, that interaction set the tone for the rest of the meal. We even pitched in to help the bussing staff. When our waitress finally returned, she immediately said, "Oh, you don't have menus? You forgot them. I know I already gave them to you along with your place settings." Apparently it was a set-your-own-table experience. At that point, it almost felt like we were expected to bring our own service as well. The food quality was underwhelming--We've had better charcuterie on a plane--especially considering the prices. Several ingredients that were listed as part of the dishes were missing. When we asked the busser about it, she said she would check with the kitchen, but she never returned with an answer or any follow-up. Honestly, we would have expected the server to check back regardless, but other than taking our initial order, she never returned to our table, even when we tried to wave her over. So yes no one came back after our food was served to ask how everything was, whether we needed anything, or to address the missing ingredients. Once our order was delivered, we were completely forgotten. Good service means checking on your guests, addressing concerns, and making sure they're enjoying their meal. None of that happened during our visit. When we finally approached the manager, the first response was, "Well, did you eat any of the food?" Yes--we each had a couple of bites of the kale Caesar because we were starving, despite it being served without the advertised pork belly, which was the main ingredient. We had already tried to address our concerns in real time, but no one ever followed up. We're far from people who leave negative reviews. In fact, we think this is only the second bad restaurant review we've ever written. The experience was simply that disappointing. Overall, the combination of rude service, poor management, disappointing food quality, missing ingredients, and a complete lack of follow-through made for an incredibly frustrating dining experience. Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant, and we won't be returning. The view is absolutely gorgeous, but you're better off grabbing a sandwich somewhere else and enjoying it from the nearby bridge.
