We love the food there. Their lunch menu is classic, their servers are on point and very courteous. The flavors pop. The wonton soup is so yummy and classic broth. My favorite dish is mu shu pork with egg roll and fried rice. My lovely wife prefers Kung Pao shrimp. You have to visit this place at least during lunch time. I visit it almost once a week. I've been a customer for just about as long as i can remember, and I'm 71 years old and still in full command of my memories. I remember when they were right across the street and the city or county tried to put up a low barrier to block access from northbound 100th to their parking lot because they were so popular they occasionally caused traffic jams. Someone fixed the problem using a sledge hammer late one night. Their "new" location is a bit smaller and a little less convenient for parking but thankfully they seem to be thriving despite the pandemic. Expect to find fairly-priced excellent food and enormous portions in a quintessentially "americanized" Chinese eatery. I can't speak to the bar quality since i don't drink but I have heard good things about it. Definitely my favorite "go-to" for Chinese takeout or eat in. read more

Went to Chopsticks in Edmonds 5/21/22 and ordered Sweet Sour Chicken it was okay, Beef Chow Yuk the beef was mushy and not a lot of flavor, Pork Fried Rice was overcooked and 2 martinis were floral tasting. We ate the meal because we were hungry and our waitress never asked how our meal was anyway. We did complain about the martinis before the meal came and said that we did not like them because they tasted floral. We asked her what type of gin was used and her response I do not know our customers like our martinis. Very disappointed in her comments, services and food. read more

After a couple visits here, I have officially decided that I like this place. Good food at a local business run by good people. Disclaimer: For my food snob friends, you may not enjoy this place as it is what I would call American Chinese food with all the classic dishes like almond chicken, sweet and sour pork, chow mien, fried rice, and all that good stuff. The food here will in no way remind you of the super authentic food you found, and will never find again, at that one particular back alley shack during your bicycle excursion through those uncharted villages in the south west region of China's self sustainable farming district back in 1987 and so on and so forth. That being said, everything I had here was really good, seemed freshly prepared (yes, I know some of the stuff is deep fried but that's what makes it awesome!), and just gave me that comfortable feeling like I had been dining here for years. The service was excellent as my waiter seemed to know exactly when to check on me or fill my water glass. It's pretty clear these folks have a steady stream of regulars that frequent the place as I think I was the only person the waiter didn't actually know or recognize as soon as they walked in the door. While this place may not top those trendy lists we see on the internet all the time or have a chef who spends more time on TV than in a kitchen, this is definitely a restaurant worth checking out. read more

Their almond chicken is bomb, nice white breast meat with crispy batter and gravy, the chowmein is super flavorful and I love their spring rolls! The only reason I wouldn't give a full five stars is because the pork is sometimes dry and the fried rice can be a little bland but the rest of their food makes up for it! If you want authentic Chinese food, you're better off going to T&T next the 99 Ranch Market. However if you're craving some good old fashion American-Chinese food, then this is your place. We ordered the Orange Beef, Chicken Fried Rice, and Broccoli with Beef on our most recent visit. My only complaint was that the fried rice had too much oil, however the Orange Beef was extremely good, it was in a sweet and tangy glaze stir fried with dried orange peels. All in all, I think this is a good place for some good old fashion American-Chinese comfort food, plus the prices and portion cannot be beaten. Well it was disappointing to say the least. Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Lynnwood called Tasters Wok closed so we decided to give this place another try. We have lived in this area for years and had gone here many years ago so decided to give them another try. The only thing that was really good was the barbecued pork but how do you go wrong with that? The Moo Goo Gai Pan was terrible. The vegetables in it were hardly cut up. The pieces were so large that I cut them down. The Generals Chicken was terrible. No coating on the chicken at all. My husband was quite sick the next day. That had to be from the sweet and sour pork since I didn't have any of that. The chow mein was terrible too. Abslolutey no flavor. We made reservations for a nice, party of 8, family dinner. We love Chinese food and Chopsticks is the only place I will go. The food is amazing. Good food is o ly half of the equation. Customer service is the other half. We arrived at 4:55 for our 5:00 reservation. We were seated promptly and it went downhill from there. Our order was finally taken 30 minutes later, and when did we finally get our meals? I mean the first half of our meals, 7:00, yeas 1 1/2 hours after arriving. An hour and 45 minutes before the other half of our meals arrived. People that arrived after us, tables of 4 and 5 guests, were eating before us. Almost 3 hours after our arrival we were finally leaving. THREE EFFIN HOURS! Unbelievable. Oh then to make the evening even better. Our waitress forgot that one person in our party was paying for 2 of the meals on a separate check. She had charged my account for all of the meals before she brought the receipt for me to add a tip (big fat zero) and sign. Now to wait some more for her to figure out how to credit my account and start all over. We heard "just couple minute" many times. I have visited chopsticks for years. I remember when it used to be across the street in a complex where Bartells is currently. When I was a child it was a real treat for our family to go have dinner there. It was so good. We have frequented it a lot during the last 10 years or so and I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed that it just doesn't settle so well anymore. I have noticed after dining there I tend to feel a little tummy upset. The food taste a little heavy. Not sure what it is but I don't like going there anymore. Sorry chopsticks. Mr. Jet, who just finished putting our food on the table, appeared unmoved by the request, and took two steps back toward the kitchen, then stopped, spun around, and did a flying twist across the room over to the man in the corner. Jet's arms and legs flew around this tea-basher like Neo against Morpheus in the karate room of the Matrix. It was a blurry hell. Violent, yet stunningly precise. Then ... it was over. The man's limbs unzipped from his body, and Jet took a step back and bowed. He filled the empty water glasses in the dining area, and left, head bowed. Weeks later, I was back at Chopsticks, alone. This time, I ordered the Kung Pao Beef with vegetable fried rice, and a starter of sweet and sour soup. A four star, three course lunch for $5.95. I asked Jet why he obliterated that customer a few weeks ago. Jet shot me a steely glare, chuckled, and said, "When he complain, he order Misfortune Cookie. Enjoy the soup." Its been awhile since I had good Chinese food - this little hole in the wall sure hit the spot. Best Wonton soup I've ever had with plenty of fresh vegetables, not just your typical green onion and dumpling! Great Beef with Asparagus dish too - but the highlight for me was the Chicken Chow Mein and the Fried Eggplant. It is perfect for those who are stuck in the 1950's and like Sub Gum, Chopsuey and all those other peasant foods that were passed off as real Chinese, back when nobody knew the difference. Very disappointed. I walked in and ordered takeout two nights ago. The food was ready quickly but that is the only positive :-( I got home and opened the box and was immediately bummed out. The fried rice was dark brown and didn't taste fresh. The almond chicken was so greasy. The egg roll was burned. I personally didn't care for their chow mein either. I ate about five bites of the dinner then tossed it in the trash. I do not throw away Chinese food so you know it was bad if I did that. read more

When heading out for dinner there is one place the whole family can agree on; Chopsticks. I have ordered just about everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. I have so many favorites now I have to keep a list so I can cycle through them at each visit. The same people have worked at this place for as long as I can remember and I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years now, they use to be located across the street but moved when they put up a strip mall. The almond chicken was crispy fried chicken in a gravy-like sauce with almonds on top. The orange beef was battered and fried beef with a cornstarchy sauce that didn't taste like orange. The pork fried rice was salty but I don't like fried rice so my thoughts don't count on this one. And I didn't eat the chicken chow mein because it was loaded with mushrooms and it was greasy. Mostly though, I hate mushrooms which was why it wasn't going on my plate. You're better off going elsewhere unless you're looking for fried Chinese-ish food. I now know where all the geriatric white people in Edmonds eat! I was in the mood for Americanized Chinese food, so I gave this place a shot. The hot and sour soup is SOOOO sour, it was inedible. We sent it back and got bland and watery egg flower soup instead. The kung pao chicken was OK. Huge pieces of onion and celery overwhelmed the not-so-tender chicken. The mapo tofu was pretty good, though I've had better. The best dish was probably the Mongolian beef, which was very, very tender and soft. Although the menu indicated this dish was spicy, it was not at all. Not even remotely. Panda Express is actually better. read more

My boss raves about the chinese food here, so a couple months ago, I took her here for a late birthday dinner celebration. We each ordered a combination dinner, with an extra bbq pork fried rice on the side. The combo came with soup, eggroll, and one entree with chow mein and rice. I got a combo with sweet and sour prawns. They were a little over sauced and over breaded, the egg roll was one of those weird battered types. The soup was pretty good, just simple wonton soup. And the bbq pork slices were nice and fresh. The rice was probably the best part of the meal, it was seasoned well, and had just the right amount of bbq pork. The chow mein was kind of bland, and I had to add a lot of soy sauce to it to give it any flavor, and also had a lot of cabbage in it. The prices were okay, the food was just kinda okay, nothing special, but also not the worst i've ever had. I would probably try them for lunch specials, but i'm rarely in this part of Edmonds, and unless my boss wanted to come back here, I don't think i'd go out of my way to go there. I have been searching for good chinese since my favorite place in Mountlake Terrace changed hands, and this unfortunately was not a worthy replacement. read more
