I was here on a Tuesday, so it was very slow, there was only one woman running the front of the house. But, they had some takeout orders going out every so often. That being said, the food is really yummy! I was here with my mom and we each had a hot and sour soup. It was fine, but when you add some of the side of black vinegar and picketed ginger... it was very tasty! We shared the dan dan noodles which were delicious! We also had the crab and pork soup dumplings which were hot and tasty. Finally, we split the stir fries beef filet with scallions and miso which was great! The beef was really tender and the s asinine was spot on. This is a great place to come when you want good food with no frills.

Came here in search for good authentic Chinese food, and I was not disappointed. I whether you are…read moreexperienced or inexperienced, check this spot out and keep an open mind. You won't regret it. It's a Szechuan style Chinese food which is spices and chili oil focus vs the more common Chinese food which is more southern Chinese style (Cantonese). Mom said they had good soup dumplings, "xiao long bao" which are steamier dumplings that have a little bit of soup in them. If you've never had them before, do not eat it all in one bite! Put the dumpling in the spoon they give you and take a small bite into the skin and suck in the soup. If you don't, you'll burn the heck out of your mouth. The soup dumplings were great. Make sure you order them right away because they take longer to cook, it's better to enjoy them first than when you're close to full because they are best when eaten fresh. The other items we got were F5 the fish fillet in chili oil. It came in a big bowl with some mushroom and cabbage and was very good. The spice is more medium, so if you can't handle heat I wouldn't recommend this dish. It was different than the usual fish in chili oil because it was a little saltier than I'm used to, but that's okay because you should eat it with white rice and there were less Szechuan pepper corns if any, which is what we prefer. Usually the peppercorns are a detractor to the dish, but that's the style. The other dishes we ordered were the eggplant in garlic sauce and scallion pancakes. The scallion pancakes were not special but cooked perfectly. They weren't greasy or burned like the ones you'd get from most places. The eggplant in garlic sauce was delicious. The eggplant is an Asian style that resembles a zucchini in shape and size, and doesn't have many seeds as a regular eggplant. The sauce is a little sweet and tangy, great over some white rice. The dish complements the other dishes well because of the contrast in flavors, so you can get a taste of all of the flavors of the rainbow. Like in most places in Jersey, it's in a plaza with plenty of parking but it's clean, especially the bathrooms, and very well decorated. The restaurant feels modern with a Chinese flair. The coolest things were the tea cups, take a look at the pictures. They were really nice!

Everywhere I go I hear people rave about the quality of the food here and being the noble reviewer I am I decided to put aside my PTSD and give King's a shot... and I am so glad I did. King's has now become a staple in my household whenever everyone is in the mood for Chinese food. You truly cannot go wrong with anything on the menu and everything I've tried so far has been delicious. The sesame chicken is great, the dumplings are small but flavorful, and the noodles are OUTSTANDING. I also really appreciate the friendly staff, and the owner Frank runs a very efficient operation. Whether it's pickup or dine-in, I can confidently say you will love King's and it might just become a staple in your household too.

I haven't found a Chinese sit down restaurant in the area since Szechuan Star closed years ago. We…read morecame on a Wednesday night and were surprised to see how many people were dining in. The owner, Freddy, is very chatty and told us on weekends, they have a line for tables. His service is amazing, he connects with all his patrons, and is super generous. He brought us hot and sour soup, additional dumplings, and gave us a taste of his chicken and eggplant dish. We ordered the standard Chinese take out items--general Tsos chicken, vegetable lo mein and string beans stir fried with garlic. Everything came out quickly. The general tsos chicken could have been more crispy, but I appreciated that they weren't just half breading. The vegetable lo mein was good, but the string beans were covered with pork. The menu doesn't state anything about pork, and I don't eat red meat. I didn't want to make it inconvenient, especially after Freddy had been so friendly and generous, so I just scraped off the pork. The hot and sour soup also had bits of pork in it, though it is normally vegetarian. Wonderful service and food, just wished the menu was more clear.

We took out a few dishes from the new ownership and were utterly disgusted with the quality. It's been a few more years. I am not sure if ownership changed again, but we decided to give it another chance. I didn't recognize the owner - not sure if it was because of the absence of mask. But first impression was she didn't care to be cordial or friendly, just doing the basic part as a wait staff. On the plus side, the chairs and tables have been upgraded from what I could remember. We ordered our usual dishes in order to gauge the current quality. 2 staple Sichuan dishes: Kung Pao Chicken ($14.95) and Shredded Beef with Hot Green Pepper ($17.95). We also added a noodle dish: Sauteed Noodle with Pork & Scallion ($11.95). Kung Pao Chicken was rendered differently - sweeter and not as dark but tasty none the less. The Shredded Beef was also slightly different, thicker and obviously tenderized with baking soda. It was good enough. The sauteed noodle was good but it's a generic dish so no authenticity to consider. A number of deviations from prior experience. The chicken and beef dishes each only 1 bowl of rice, instead of a big serving bowl for the table. We had to ask for one additional bowl of rice. Not sure if it was missed but we didn't get charged for it. The tea wasn't complimentary any more. $1.50 for the pot. Overall, we weren't disappointed because we came in with low expectation. We will be back again hoping to see that they can at least maintain the same consistency.
