Well cruzing around Maui village mall today the Mall that has the iconic Tasaka Guri-guri which…read morewas closed today because it's Sunday . My wife and I wanted to have some lunch so we came across this small Chinese place . Siu's Chinese restaurant there was no one inside the restaurant. Well I find out why the hot food selection didn't look very good . Prices were reasonable 1 choice $12.50 2 choice $14.95. We both ordered Won Ton Mein because the weather in Maui was raining on and off . It look delicious in my picture but first of all it didn't have no taste I used my mustard shoyu container and dumped it inside my Saimin LOL. The noodles tasted like Somen noodles and the Won Ton didn't taste that good . Service was pretty bad as well there was a young gentleman working the counter and he had no personality at all . While we were dining we saw only 3 customers came inside . I remind you this was prime time around 1pm lunch hour . To their defense that Mall is pretty dead anyway . Try to support local when possible

I don't remember their roast pork being this great for some reason but it was sure on point today. I personally love roast pork, roast duck and kau yuk. I will have to come back and see if their kau yuk is still ono like it was before. Check it out!

Star Noodle was such a great find! Everything we ordered was soooo yummy and full of flavor…read more We had the tako, ahi avo, and short rib, and all three were equally delicious. The flavors were really well balanced, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. But the absolute star of the meal for us were the Look Moore Fun noodles. OMG. They were incredible! So flavorful, with a perfect texture, and easily the favorite thing we ordered. We could have happily eaten an entire second serving. We also loved the overall atmosphere of Star Noodle. It has that fun, relaxed Maui feel where you can just sit back, enjoy some great food, and not feel rushed. The kind of place that makes you want to order a bunch of things to share. We've eaten at a lot of great places during this Maui trip, and Star Noodle definitely belongs on the list of places we'd come back to. The Look Moore Fun alone is enough to bring us back! Highly recommend Star Noodle if you're in Lahaina or anywhere on Maui.

I brushed this off when the hostess said she was going to try to sit us at one of the waterfront tables. After waiting for ~10 more minutes she apologized and said she couldn't find us a water front table but had something else ready for us. She proceeded to sit us at arguably the worst table in the restaurant. It was directly next to the kitchen so we were constantly being brushed by servers delivering food and it was facing the sun so my husband had to wear sunglasses for the entire meal. When we asked our waiter for a new table he joked around that the sun would eventually go behind the clouds. For the food, it's all so overpriced. The garlic noodles are fine but it's just noodles and garlic, I don't understand how it's $18. Our waiter was raving about the pork buns but we found them to be very dry and low effort with huge slabs of raw carrot inside. The miso butter fish is good and the saimin was our favorite dish. The food also all came out within a few minutes of ordering and I felt we didn't have time to truly enjoy the meal. Especially with the sun glaring in our faces. Overall I wouldn't recommend or return.

Made last minute plans for a trip to Maui and this trip decided I wanted to explore more mom and…read morepop places vs my usual suspects in Kaanapali... so upon landed headed to Sam Sato's. Located in old town Wailuku.. the area looks more commercial than residential, but tucked in the street is this cute restaurant. It's nothing fancy, but they sure do serve up a good meal! I feel like I've been missing out all these years.. the dry noodles and beef stick were perfection! The cha shu topping on the eggy noodles, such a good combo. The beef stick was tender and flavorful. The complimentary soup balanced all the flavors... and I wrapped up my meal with a Lima bean manju. Nice and buttery exterior paired perfectly with the Lima bean filling. I really liked that the bean paste wasn't too sweets All in all loved this place and will be back! Staff super friendly, food comes out fast and it's sooo ono - what's not to love? I will add I order a small dry noodles and had extra so took left overs to go and made a sunny side egg and put it on top of my reheated noodles. Winner of a meal!

Another 3.5 overall rating. Ordered their dry noodles and manju for a lunch…read more.. Pros- the Manju is very tasty! I ordered a box of 16, 8 of both options (pineapple and red bean). I would order these again in a heartbeat! 5/5! Cons- I preordered a medium pan of dry noodles with veg. I was expecting some kind of vegetable in the noodles. I'm allergic to bean sprouts, so asked they not be used in the dish, but I thought carrots, yellow onions, something... nope, it was just noodles and green onions! No meat either, which surprised me. I ordered what I thought was their deluxe dry, but it was super plain. That was disappointing for sure. I would not order this again. Parking is also crazy tight and limited. Luckily I dropped my son off and drove around the block. If I actually had to park, not sure what I would have done.
