We were craving some quick Chinese takeout, and this was close by, so we decided to give it a try. I ordered shrimp chow mein with an egg roll, expecting to get noodles; however, what I got instead was shrimp sautéed with lettuce, onions, and celery and pork fried rice instead. My husband ordered Hunan beef with pork fried rice, and that looked alright. Needless to say, I was disappointed with my order. I also don't eat meat, so I just had to pick the shrimp pieces out of the box and eat them as a side with my egg roll. I love this place. It's some of the best Chinese I've found in the Myrtle Beach area. I've liked pretty much everything I've had there. Crab Rangoons, sesame chicken, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, cashew chicken. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the PuPu Platter. The restaurant inside is small so I always order Togo. Very friendly staff, however, the food doesn't taste "Chinese.". It tastes fishy. The sauces are too thick, almost gummy. Food definitely comes in frozen. I tried the sweet and sour chicken with the pork fried rice. Rice was dry and lacking flavor. Being a glutton for punishment, and giving them a second chance, I tried the shrimp in lobster sauce. We stopped by Chopsicks based on other reviews and were not disappointed! This is a typical Chinese takeout restaurant setup with a few tables lining each wall but that is where similarity ends. We decided to eat in and it is very clean unlike most other Chinese takeout places. All the tables and chairs were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean as well. We were greeted by a very pleasant young man with a great smile (again unusual for a Chinese takeout). He was very helpful answering questions from us about the menu choices. My wife and I both had shrimp Egg Fu Yung although I had mine with brown sauce and my wife with gravy (they were happy to accommodate my brown sauce request). Our friend ordered Kung Pao Chicken. The egg rolls were excellent, not greasy and great taste and texture. The Egg Fu Yung was the best my wife and I have EVER had and we eat this entree where ever we can find it. Our friend, who is a picky eater, said her Kung Pao Chicken was very very good. The young man even came out to our table to ask us if there was anything else we needed and how the food was. That has never happened to me in this type of restaurant. I was very impressed with the overall experience we had here and we would highly recommend this place if you are interested in good Chinese food. This was recommended to me by neighbors. It was alright. I've had better around. Honestly, Trader Joe's mandarin chicken is better. I got an order of crab Rangoon, unflavored cream cheese inside. Good places have flavor and imitation crab (nobody does real), this had neither. The egg rolls were okay. And the orange chicken was just okay. Okay, maybe in retrospect ordering a slew of appetizers and a few mains on Christmas Day was a bad move. I mean, only a few places are open, and they're all getting a ton of orders. I placed mine online a little after 4pm for pickup and 5. I got there at 5 and waited almost 45 more minutes for my order. During my time there, I heard them telling people it would be at least a 90 minute wait and they could take their number and call them when it was almost ready so they wouldn't have to wait. And is that a surprise? It's a small place with what? 3 or 4 woks and a deep fryer? They can only make so much food at a time. So, as frustrating as a 90-minute turnaround for takeout is . . . I have to say the staff was apologetic beyond any need to be. They were super kind. Super helpful. And were clearly working to capacity. But the important thing is the food, right? On the 17 minute (up 17) back to our condo to feed the family, my son and I were musing, "Imagine if the food is horrible after all that?" Instead, my wife said that the vegetables with tofu was among the best she's ever had. My mother ordered General Tso's tofu and asked them to tone down the spice, and they hit her sweet zone (or spicy zone, I guess) perfectly. My kids and I mostly ate appetizers that were spread out in front of us like we were Mongol Warlords in a bad movie. But everything was spot on, perfect. If you're looking for a good takeout spot, you've found it. But, if you're ordering on Christmas, expect a wait, even if you order early. read more

This restaurant exceeded all my expectactions. The won ton soup is delicious, with nice pieces of pork in the broth. Many Chinese restaurants don't include it anymore. And the wontons are delicious and plentiful. The pork egg rolls are yummy, even warmed over. I recommend this restaurant! read more

Not many if any Chinese restaurants are any good here in South Carolina. I guess when your use to a certain taste and nothing comes close you get disappointed.
