Just finished checking out the Roast Pork Lo Mein that I picked up from here. Along with the meager portions of roast pork, there were very few vegetables and was SHOCKED to find my lo mein order was almost half RICE!!! I've been to a wide range of chinese places in the CT area, but NEVER have I found rice to be a part of a noodle dish. BE warned about this place. read more

I orders the beef and broccoli combo. The food was really old. The pork in the pork fried rice was so hard I thought there were rocks in my food. The beef was slimy and discolored. The entire container had a foul odor. You can tell the egg roll was old but refried when I called to order because it was dark and soaked in grease. Working in downtown Stamford, I'd rather walk the few extra blocks to order from Chopsticks King. Meh. I was really hoping to like this place since it's right around the corner from me. I ordered online and the food was ready early, and the girl at the counter was friendly and efficient. I ordered beef Lo mein and chicken egg foo young. The Lo mein was decent --nothing amazing, but not bad. Typical cheap Chinese food, hit the spot. Unfortunately the egg foo young was pretty awful. It was overfried, greasy, and tasted like it was cooked in not great oil. The gravy wasn't the typical egg foo young gravy you get in American Chinese restaurants, which normally has some corn starch in it. It was really dark, syrupy, and had an intense soy and vinegar flavor. I took two bites and didn't finish. Tiny complaints that just added to it: no chopsticks provided (despite the restaurant name) and crushed fortune cookies. read more

I moved here 3 months ago and had going here constantly because its right around the corner and cheaper compare to the dinner or other places whic takes me 10 mins walk to downtown stamford. I've being to quite a few Chinese places because I'm Chinese and this place is as close and cheap as I could get from authentic Chinese food. American Chinese food have been somewhat "Franchised" to some degree that what you see on the menu is very standardized even these are not quite Chinese. Which is fine and I still explored enough to find my favourites. The lady bearly hear me ordering because the noice in the kitchken. So make sure you speak loud and clear. My go to is chiken with white mashroom on white sauce with white rice because its fairly healthy (Less salt, also avoiding fried rice). when I feel like more tastes, I go for curry beef with white rice, which is mildly spicy. Wow, I've seen one-star reviews before, but never for a place I liked. My favorite dish from a cheap Chinese delivery restaurant is Singapore Mei Fun. When I moved to Norwalk, I think I tried at least four places. While in Danbury, I tried two. Nobody in any of these places had heard of curry, it seems. So I move to Stamford. The first day we're here, my sweetie insists on going to Chopsticks King because they have something we haven't seen in five years--bubble tea. Several flavors, sweet & milky and lots of tapioca pearls. Fun in a cup. That same week, we decided to check out their delivery. I got my signature Singapore Mei Fun (extra spicy) and not only was it delicious, it was spicy! I was very happy with it. The serving was more than enough for one meal, after sharing some potstickers off the Dim Sum menu. I also tried some of the pork lo mein, and found it delicious. The pork was juicy, not dry and the sauce was flavorful and none of those flavors were salt. I'm not here to judge authenticity, I'll do that after I make a trip to China. I've ordered from this place numerous times and let me tell you, they do not disappoint. From their crab rangoons to their lunch specials, it all tastes delicious. Now there are times where they slip up because, hey, we're all human. But they are more than willing to offer compensation within reason. I used to live a block away from Chopstick King. It was the first Chinese take-out I went when I move there, and it remains the one I would go if I want Chinese take-out in the area. I will need to emphasize "in the area" and everything is relative- you can't really compare this shop with other places not in the area, like Chinatown or Flushing in New York. Lunch special is super cheap compare to the other places in Stamford. It only comes with the main course without the soup and appetizer, which is okay for me. For dinner, since I don't go there everyday, I order the Singapore noodles every time I go there. The rest of the menu is not very memorable, which probably means it wasn't worth my second try. Sweet and sour soup was quite good as well, although I don't order it that often. I would give 5 star if I find other dishes in the menu as good as the Singapore noodles. read more

Greasy food and LOUSY customer service. I ordered beef chow fun, the beef was chewy and inedible. The noodles were soaked in grease. The fried dumplings were mediocre at best. The egg drop soup and wonton soup is OK. The ribs a barely edible - tough and chewy and soaked in grease. Last night, they left off an order of rice. I ordered a few soups, a quart of rice, an appetizer, and the aforementioned chow fun. I called as soon as I noticed the rice is missing. The person who answered the phone said that rice does not come with chow fun. I told her to look at my receipt (i ordered via seamless) and paid $3.00 for the rice. After about 6 times, explaining that I PAID for the rice, and I would like it with our meal, she FINALLY agreed to have it delivered. 1 1/2 hours later, the delivery guy showed up, and knocked on my door so hard it seemed like he was going to break it down. NEVER again will I order from this place. The meal was ruined (and hour and a half to deliver part of an order that they messed up and I only live 4 blocks away) is INEXCUSABLE. read more

I'm really disappointed because I've been doing takeout at Chopstick King for years, and it's always been consistently good for takeout Chinese. However, the past two times the wontons in the Wonton soup have been rock hard and I've gotten a sour stomach from them. I think this is a recent change - they are usually busy and must have started making them in bulk and storing them, but I think it will be a while before they get my business again. read more

i went there today, and i think the food there is amazing, i had been in Stamford almost 5 years and i keep searching for the best Chinese food in town. I pass this store so many time, until couple day before my friend told me they sell bubble tea there, and i love bubble tea, so i went there after work, and order my favorite passion fruit bubble tea and chicken w garlic sauce, it was amazing, the sauce is so taste and the bubble tea just like the one that i had it in NY. Horrible! Ordered for delivery! They forgot half my order! Called to tell them! They denied they charged me, when I had the receipt in my hand telling them my code number on check, then they hung up on my face! Called again to explain again, hung up on my face again! Then called again then they stopped taking my call, I called from another number they picked up! Sent my food after trying numerous of times, not only was it cold it was old, the boneless spareribs were old black disgusting, the wonton soup was old dirty broth dark color gross! !
