I placed a pickup order, so I can't speak for the ambiance. As far as service, it seemed good. My online order was easy to place, I received everything I ordered, and it was ready on time. As far as the food, it was good, but not great. The mushroom chicken tasted ok, but it was unappealing to look at. Everything (mushrooms, bamboo shoots, chicken, sauce) was the same color. The broccoli beef was good. Even after being packed into to-go cartons the broccoli wasn't mushy. It wasn't extremely flavorful, but it was good. The General's chicken was good. That's my husbands "go to" and he seemed to like it. The fried rice was good and the chow Mein was ok. I had ordered 3 combination plates (thinking we'd all share) and since my husband HATES vegetables, I asked that his chow Mein be made w/o veggies. His came without them, but so did the other order. For a small town this is a great spot to get some flavorful Asian food. Lunch specials are the way to go. Large portions. Each deal comes with soup, egg roll, selection and fried rice or chow mein. They open at 11 so you can miss the construction crowd that comes in at noon. General chicken as a bit of a kick to it. You can ask for it to be spicier. Egg drop soup has the egg added when you order so the white is still swirling around! Of course the ending is a fortune cookie....maybe one day it will come true!! read more

I stumbled across this quaint restaurant on my way back into town passing through Dayton Friday evening. I figured I would have an eaelier dinner before heading back into town. I saw the name, "Chopstix" and thought I wanted Chinese food until I saw they served pho. Pho has been my comfort food of choice for about two decades now. My server, I think he said his name was José was attentive, but not over bearing. I was impressed by his skills to juggle the restaurant alone. He is a one man show! I loved my pho, my only complaint is that there could be more rice noodles. There wasn't much and they are fairly inexpensive for a big package. Ordered several dishes and as soon as we got the Hot and Sour soup I literally said"if the food is anything like this soup, we're in for it" and sure enough it was. Everything was extremely bland. I mean no salt whatsoever. It wasn't really edible. Beyond the lack of any flavor the egg rolls were greasy and soggy. The sweet and sour chicken and general tsao chicken was the same just different sauce and I called it chicken fried batter because the chicken inside looked like a French fry with 5x the amount of fried batter. Look I understand the people having bad experiences with the food. I also ordered some weird nonsense my first time. But I'm telling you guys, get the fried potstickers and the Orange Peel Chicken. The Mongolian beef is also delicious. You just gotta stay away from some of the weird seafood type items and this is some of the best Chinese food around. Quiet large Chinese restaurant with a party room in the back. The menu is pretty extensive but not expensive! Our chow fun was good but not particularly exciting, nothing green in it. Green onions would be nice. The $5.50 bowl of egg flower soup was plenty big and not salty, which i like. Ray can put more salt or soy sauce in. Decor was nice enough. Colorful. While fast, the food is not worth the convenience. I am not a picky eater but the generals chicken, broccoli and beef, chow mein and chow fun lacked flavor and texture. Every time we order food to go from this restaurant they make at least 3 different mistakes and blame that on us for "not mentioning it to them" despite the fact that we told them we'd like sauce on the side, with the eggflower soup multiple times during one phone call. Horrible servers, less than stellar food and ludicrously expensive, which would be fine if we could get the food, how we ordered it and without any rude comments from the server and whoever takes down phone orders. This definitely was not bad Chinese food! It was a nice little restaurant, clean, and the staff were very attentive. I ordered crab rangoons, which weren't sweet like most places which I enjoyed. Then we got chicken chow mein for our kids which was not overly greasy, and had enough variety of vegetables in it. My husband ordered wonton soup, and the sandwich appetizer which was also very tasty. I got the combo chow fun, which was absolutely delicious. Love this place! If I could give this place a 3.5 I would. I had the vegetable pho and stuffed meat wontons. The wontons barely had any meat in them. Not worth even trying. The pho was decent. Had a weird taste to it though. Not sure how I felt about it. The price was cheap however and the service was amazing. I would possibly come back and try something different. read more
