This place is a treasure! I was amazed by the food. There were 4 of Us. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! This place makes authentic food not junk! Very clean dining area. The Owner was very kind and professional. Our meals came out fast. Thank you! As customers we are from Virginia and California and My husband has lived in Singapore and tasted food from many of the surrounding Countries. Enjoy!

I stumbled across this quaint restaurant on my way back into town passing through Dayton Friday evening. I figured I would have an eaelier dinner before heading back into town. I saw the name, "Chopstix" and thought I wanted Chinese food until I saw they served pho. Pho has been my comfort food of choice for about two decades now. My server, I think he said his name was José was attentive, but not over bearing. I was impressed by his skills to juggle the restaurant alone. He is a one man show! I loved my pho, my only complaint is that there could be more rice noodles. There wasn't much and they are fairly inexpensive for a big package. I would have given 5 stars, but I feel for the value I had to give only 4. Would I stop back in? Yes, I would.

I had been craving their General's chicken here and decided to come in for their dinner special. My food was served piping hot and was delicious per usual. This time was the sauce was my favorite. Next time I'd pass on their fried rice (soy sauce rice), there's nothing else in it. It's missing eggs and veggies. The restaurant has always been clean and tidy on all past visits; their restrooms are kept clean as well. I brought home my leftovers and an orange chicken entrée and a war wonton soup to-go. Everything was delicious. Next time you're in Carson Valley area and craving Chinese food, stop on by.

I'd just had Thanksgiving dinner with my local friends here that I'm visiting in the Carson area…read more We went to a local casino for a great deal on dinner wit no cooking or cleaning, but the trouble is we found out, there's NO LEFTOVERS in the house to eat after! So, my friend suggest dropping by China Jade Horse here, cause they have a little known, killer deal on fried rice! Most of the prices here seemed to me a little on the high side, like there was one seafood fried rice that was close to $17 bucks, but they have this simple egg fried rice for just $6.95! You can't hardly get anything full order on any menu for $6.95 these days! We just happen to be in the Topsy Lane Shopping center area and Jade Horse is right in there, basically next to the In N Out. Easy parking, we went around noon. My friend ordered 2 orders of the egg fried rice and the total came out to just under $15 with tax. All the other fried rice options with meat included were almost double the price! Got it to go and off we go. The bag felt heavy! Service was fast! Getting back to the house, my friend had some fancy chili oil she added to it as well as some more green onions. Dished out for lunch and wow that was some tasty fried rice. It had that wok seared flavor like a good burger has that grill flavor. The chili oil added just the right amount of spicy. So, for just $7.00 bucks and order that feeds at least 2-3 people, that's a deal! I hear the rest of teh food there at Jade Horse is very good, but a little more on the spendy side. Glad I found out about this egg fried rice. See the menu pic for the fried rice prices!

OK I'm adding a star here up to four from my previous three star review. I was delighted to see…read morethat they had a tofu offering in the place where the green beans usually are. It was tofu and cauliflower. The tofu chunks were enormous and they were nicely seared on all sides. The sauce was flavorful and the veggies including cabbage were perfectly cooked. Well I may not have recognized the first time I came in is that their noodles appear to be udon! they were not open as I write this review so I couldn't call them but I did take a picture and give it to My BFF, "gemini" the trustee AI from Google: Gemini says: "1. Shanghai Style Thick Noodles (Cu Mian) This is the most likely culprit. In many Chinese "hot table" or buffet settings, they use a thick, wheat-based noodle called Cu Mian (literally "thick noodles"). * The Look: They are cylindrical and chewy, very similar to Udon. * The Difference: They are often a bit more "al dente" or dense compared to the bouncy, slippery texture of Japanese Udon. * Terminology: Even though they are thick, restaurants often label them "Chow Mein" simply because that's the term customers recognize for any fried noodle dish. 2. Lo Mein Noodles While most people associate Lo Mein with a medium-thickness flat noodle, some regional variations use a significantly thicker, rounder version. Because these are wheat-based and have absorbed that dark soy-based sauce, they can easily be mistaken for Udon. 3. "Frozen" or "Instant" Udon It is actually quite common for modern Chinese fusion spots to use Japanese Udon noodles because they hold up exceptionally well in a steam table (the "gizmo" you mentioned). They don't get mushy as quickly as thinner egg noodles, making them a practical choice for restaurants. How to tell for sure? If you want to investigate further without a language barrier, you can check the "bite": * Udon: Will be very white on the inside if you bite it in half, with a very springy, almost gummy "mochi-like" bounce. * Shanghai Noodles: Usually have a slightly more yellowish tint (even without eggs) and a firmer, more doughy center." so biting Intuit I do see a white center but then again I don't know if I've tried the other noodle types above so it could be. Whatever the case the experience is that of an udon noodle in my uneducated experience. I wrote another review for Jade Garden that goes into a little more detail and expands to talk about the ambience, which I describe as tight but cozy seating, over here on Nextdoor: https://nextdoor.com/p/pBwBSFyPjn42

The hubby had tried Jade Garden on a prior Tahoe trip without me and liked it. So of course, I wanted to give it a try. It wasn't very busy when we got here, but people started filtering in once we ordered. I'm not sure how much the soup was, but my total with tax was $41.33. The wonton soup did take a lil bit to make, about 15 mins, so keep in mind if ordering. Portions are huge! With the current shrinkflation, this is a welcome change. Everything in our 3 item combos were flavorful and tasty. I did ask for hot oil to add to my dishes, so if you like things spicy, I'd recommend you do the same. The soup was disappointing tho. Not much flavor. I had some msg and white pepper on hand to doctor it up. Tasty basic dishes. Great spot for Chinese combo meals. REVIEW #3920

The food was authentic and not too greasy, making for a very pleasant dining experience. Sitting there, you naturally want to eat and chat slowly. This one even had sweet, perfectly cooked carrots. The fried rice was also spot-on: silky egg, peas, carrots, and that familiar flavor so many of us love. Lunch specials run from 11-3 and come with soup, an egg roll, and your choice of rice or noodles. Portions are massive. My only issue, and unfortunately it's a big one, was the service. After taking my order, the gentleman serving me never returned to my table. I couldn't get sweet & sour sauce for my egg roll, and my water was never refilled. I raised my hand several times, but he walked by as if I wasn't there. Finally after waiting for over ten minutes when I was over it, I stood up hoping someone would notice and assume I was trying to leave without paying. That worked and I was immediately handed my check. Of course I still had to ask for a to-go container. The food alone is a 5 star rating, but the service brings the experience as a whole down to a 3. I love Chinese-American food, and this kitchen gets it. Not sure if my race or that I'm a woman was an issue, or if I just got the worst server they have. I hope this reaches the right person because I would like to come back but being ignored and feeling so unwelcome is disheartening.

Now I'm in the Bay Area where Chinese restaurants are very plentiful and pretty delicious. This place measured up pretty decently! We ordered family style: Egg rolls: (2 orders, 2 in an order) 4/5 pretty standard egg rolls. Chicken Fried Rice: 4/5 rice was fine but I didn't like the chicken as much. Just my personal preference. Garlic Chicken: 5/5 This was my favorite dish! The chicken was breast meat, the garlic sauce was so good, and it included carrots, white onions and zucchini. We ordered it with extra garlic so there were slices of garlic as well. Delicious! Cashew Chicken: 4/5 pretty good, but I didn't detect many cashews. But the dish itself fine, with nice medley of chicken and celery, carrots, onions, etc. I do like a nice cashew crunch so maybe I'll ask for extra cashews next time! Mongolian Beef: 4/5 this is always a go-to dish and I normally love a lot of onions if the ratio matches the beef. This definitely had more onions than beef, however it was not a dealbreaker, but something to take note of. We had a fair amount of onions left on the plate and it could have made 1 more serving. However it was delicious so maybe next time I'll ask for extra beef? Lol. The decor is really cute too, nice chandeliers, paintings and jade statues. Service was great too, no complaints! I enjoyed my meal, it satisfied my craving and I'll be back!
