Really liked this place. The server was very attentive and kind. The menu has a huge selection. We went on a Wednesday night and it was nearly empty. The food was good and hot and nicely presented. We ate family style. They use slightly different spices than I'm used to tasting, and it was a nice difference. We will happily return. read more

My family and I have eaten here once and taken food out once. the service was great the whole time. The manager was even walking around checking people and helping make sure everyone had drinks. The food is a lot better then the last place that was there. Will for sure make another visit very soon. read more

General's chicken is overbreaded, made with frozen/stale chicken, and the brown sauce that should go with it has been two different sauces so far, one a ketchupy sweet and sour sauce, the other a sweet chili sauce straight from the bottle. Giving 2 stars in the hopes that their Vietnamese/Korean cuisine is better than the Chinese. Food has been cold and delayed both times I have eaten here. Will try again to see if the pho or barbecue are acceptable. Avoid the Chinese food here. read more

Although, they forgot my order of Mongolian Beef, my families meals were very tasty. I hate being left out especially when I am waiting to eat something I ordered, but thank goodness the portions were big enough and I was able to eat from my families meals. I am absolutely appalled. First, I placed my order at 5:17pm for ASAP delivery. The other option was a 6PM delivery or later, so I thought if I selected the ASAP option I might receive my order around 6ish. I got a confirmation saying that my order will be delivered around 6:10 pm. After calling at 6:30 to be told that it would be here in 10 minutes, the order did not arrive until after 6:50. The only reedeming quality is that the food was hot. Everything was very bland. No flavor in the chow Mein or the broccoli beef. The fried "stuffed" wontons were literally fried wonton wrappers with NOTHING in them! Orange peel chicken was dry as a bone. I do NOT recommend them and would give them 0 stars if possible! read more

Great place Pho is amazing and owner really cares

We have gotten take out twice now. Both times the food was awful. The general chicken had three times too much breading, meats in everything tasted stale. Tonight even tho I was there right away to pick up the food was cold. The meats once again tasted stale, the rice noodles very cold and even Mongolian beef tasted awful. Chop Stix in Dayton just opened two weeks ago ! (11/13/2013) It was easy to get a table on Thanksgiving Eve, and we also noted Chop Stix has a private banquet room that seats about 12 around one table...They have a couple of televisions for reality and sports show junkies...While their restaurant atmosphere is cool, the furniture nice, and the restaurant clean, the food that we tried needs a bit of work. The Chop Stix staff is friendly, but (on 11/27/13) they were all still without any name tags. (how hard are name tags to get, anyway ?) The lack of any name tags saddens Custer, because makes it more difficult for the General to "chat up" their attractive female servers...(Just kidding, Jean).. Jean had their Curry Chicken, and the General tried the Chop Stix # 58, a Vietnamese style dish, which has strips of tender beef with vermicelli noodles, and fresh vegetables. Jean somewhat liked her curry chicken dish, but complained aloud her curry meal had a "funny and starchy taste". The General's beef was decent, his meat somewhat chewy, (actually the beef was pretty darn chewy) but it was full of flavor, too, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Chop Stix has both Chinese and Vietnamese food, including Pho and Bun dishes... Their house tea was delightful, but Jean did not enjoy her tea as much as the General did. Once again, Jean is fussier than the General, who is used to having salt pork, bison peppered jerky, and hard tack biscuits while on a field march. The tab was 15.50 for two decent hot meals that had plenty of quantity, and we both had mucho leftovers to nosh on... read more

I enjoy supporting local businesses, and considering this is the only place in Dayton that isn't a smoke-filled casino or fast-food, I'll try to be kind. I've been to this place 5 or 6 times now, I always order Pho Ga or chicken noodle soup. The soup is always different, the chicken is always dry, sometimes there's vegetables in it, sometimes just broth, I always order spring rolls and those are always spot-on. They do not pay attention to customers, I come in dressed in scrubs, pointing to my watch, hoping for a fast lunch, and I'm sorry, but it shouldn't take 30 min to heat up soup, right? Ive had to ask for my entree on numerous occasions. The music is so loud I can't even think straight and the bathrooms are always dirty with a heavy urine-chemical smell. Last week there was a dog barking from the kitchen. I keep coming here because the food is healthier than most places and it is Dayton after all. read more

We love to try new places but wont be back to this one. The interior is unchanged from the former tenant makes me thing they might be the same people just changed the name? They did have a large selection on the menu. Both entree's we ordered were very dry and chewy. The appetizers tasted terrible. The soup was good. All in all we both hardly ate our main plates and did not ask for a box. Now usually when a honest place sees this meaning a waiter or waitress would ask you did you have a issue with the food? No instead she said ok well I will be remove all this for you here is your check. Its now on our banned list. I doubt the place will make it with this sort of food. read more

Went for lunch with a friend today. My guest got her dish and sat there for 15 minutes refusing to eat until I received my dish. By the time my dish came, my guests dish was cold. Not much thought goes into serving. The ice tea was very pale and tasted like water; no tea flavor in it. I do not recommend this place and will never go back. read more

I have been to this establishment 3 times now and the food was pretty good the first couple of times however my experience this week was very disappointing. I had the sweet and sour three delight lunch plate. The food came out quickly and i noticed the chicken on top the breading was a little tough, as I proceeded the vegetables mostly carrots were not cooked and hard and crunchy. I got to the middle of the plate where the shrimp were and they were so tough I could not cut them with my fork as the breading was like rubber. By this time I had ate a fair part of my meal and felt too late to say anything. However later in the day my stomach felt like I had a brick in it and it was that last food I felt like eating for the rest of day. The breading obviously had been refrozen to be that tough almost like rubber . I should has said something however I generally do not complain. After some further thought I have to admit this was the worst sweet and sour I have EVER had, I have had sweet and sour TV dinners that were better than this. No quality control or interest it what was put out! Next time it's back to the Bamboo Garden in for me better quality food and much more consistent. read more

I always stuck to the Chinese Fusion section of the menu. And while the food was tasty and fresh; it NEVER had enough spice for me, despite the menus warning that it was hot and spicy. Then I ordered the Vietnamese food.....started with the sandwich. Holy crud on a cracker. The beef curry, not spicy enough! Any of the fusion-lacked that "thing". Vietnamese? Found it!! My husband and i have been here twice. First time was great! Good service, happy staff and the food was super good. But this time, not so good. The waitress seemed like she didnt want to be at work, they were vacuuming as we sat there, the cabbage had black marks on it (like when its been kept too long) and then they tryed to over charge us. Our bill was an $18 bill (good deal for lunch time) but they first charged us $35.13. All that being said, the actual Thai Sandwich was good. Gave this place a shot today and I must say its up there for the worst food i've ever paid for. Rice was ...almost hard to describe how bad the rice was. Ive never had fried rice that white and undercooked before. the orange chicken wasn't as bad as the rice but still wasn't worth the cost. I can't imagine my meal was cooked by an experienced cook, or anyone that's ever cooked before. I'm super impressed at how bad it was. never going back. read more

Absolutely the worst Chinese food that we've ever had and we're not picky people. This is the second time we've tried them since they opened and we were hoping that they would be better this time but they were actually worse. It will just be a matter of time until this place goes out of business. We spent a fortune for all of us to get take out here and they didn't give any napkins or cutlery, yet another sign of how cheap the owner is. The first signs were when we called in the order and they had to call us back two times because they needed the phone line to run other customers credit cards through. The employee told us that the owner is too cheap to get a credit service other than one that runs through the phone line even though they get constant complaints of it. She also said that the owner is so cheap that they don't have those little crispy noodles that you put in your soup and they also charge for hot tea even when you dine in, this is free at other Chinese restaurants. Then when we get the food home and supply our own napkins and cutlery, we realized that they messed up and gave us the wrong soup, the egg rolls were literally so old and tough, they seemed like they were made a week ago. One of the entrees had bad beef that got that person sick, and everyone had complained about how bland and/or awful each one of their dishes were. We spent a fortune on food that ended up in the trash. Don't waste your money. Literally the worst Chinese food ever and the tightest owner ever. read more

I have waited a few weeks to try this place since it just recently opened. I am a big fan of Pho and was hoping for this place to be a keeper but I guess I will returning to Pho Country twenty minutes away in Carson. I ordered the Spring roll appetizer and a small bowl of beef Pho. The spring roll was large and overstuffed will noodles some bits of lettuce. The meat inside the roll was microscopic and the thing fell apart and had to be eaten with a fork. I ask to have my appetizer first and then the Pho and that didn't happen. I didn't want to finish the appetizer anyway. The garnish plate usually consists of Bean sprouts, Jalapeno, Thai Basil and Lime. This garnish plate had replaced the Basil with Cilantro and the lime with lemmon. I asked for Thai basil and was told they were out. The early arriving soup was shy on meat but plenty of noodles. The broth was bland. I will not be returning. read more
