We saw there was an event at the Korean restaurant nearby and came here on a whim. What a great deal! There is so much variety, the service was quick, the prices are very reasonable, and most importantly -each dish was delicious. After a long time driving around, we finally found this spot. The service was nice. The ambience is spacious, bright, and nicely decorated. The lemon grass chicken bowl was delicious. I would have liked more lemon grass flavor on the chicken, however. The char grilled pork slices with egg rolls bowl was refreshing and yummy. The sandwichs were good. I wish they would have put more mayonnaise on the breads though, because they felt dry. Overall, a good place to spot for lunch. read more

It's been a while, so let me do an update. The place we were going to was on the busy side so we opted for the Chopstix. Seated and menus given, nice. Visually some good looking food and the flavors of my dry noodle bowl was good though I thought it would have been hotter due to the chili pepper picture next to it. Fresh spring rolls were average, the drag was the banh mi sandwich. It was a lemon grass chicken with no flavor and worst was that it was mushy (wet). Had family in a hospital nearby and I was craving Noodle Bar intensely. It's my favorite restaurant on the entire central coast. However, Chopstix is on Doordash and my beloved Noodle Bar isn't. So I got my usual fave Vietnamese dishes here instead, and honestly? I might have a new fave! I loved it so much that I actually doordashed it to the hospital 3 days in a row. Normally that would be embarrassing but it was THAT good. (and also, the tofu spring rolls kept well without refrigeration so made for a super tasty late night snack later) 10/10 everything I ordered was fresh-tasting, delicious, and comforting during a tough week. The only thing I wasn't 100% hype on was the specialty boba, which wasn't very flavorful. But after I "downgraded" to the regular boba, it was fine! It was good but was drenched in sauce and would have been so much better with less. My partner ordered the Bun Bo Hue. I liked the thick white noodles which had a nice bite to them. We ordered spring rolls which were extremely dry & felt old, lemon grass chicken which had no flavor, and a beef dish, (I can't remember the name), that was dripping in a flavorless sauce. The only thing we ate was the wonton soup & even that had no veggies, & a few strings of chicken & a few wontons. It wasn't too bad once we added hoisin sauce & sirracha sauce to it. Good food. Good service. Ambience was casual. Wonton Soup: Delicious broth filled with fresh veggies, glass noodles, and a variety of meat. Pork Spring Rolls and Vegetarian Spring Rolls - freshly made so you can customize ingredients. The wrap was so fresh, the rolls were sticking to each other. We wanted no cilantro with the pork rolls, and no veggie ham in the vegetarian rolls. Only tofu. I also like that you can get a half order of spring rolls. BBQ Pork Bun - good and flavorful. The pho here is so good. I usually get the large bowl of pho with the beef balls. I sometimes get it with rare steak or flank too. The portions are generous and the broth is so flavorful and so good. I really like the banh mi sandwiches too because they're so delicious and such a great deal. I also really like the boba here. I usually get the classic milk tea with boba and I've tried the taro and almond flavors as well- they're all good. Rumor has it that the Carmel location of Chopstix is the best but I haven't tried it yet. I'll get around to that. I love the Seaside and Monterey locations. Calamari is my favorite to order here on chopstix, i order once a week. but now i ordered one and i'm very disappointed, they gave me a very little calamari and the taste is not similar at all and it's not chewable. My wife and I went to chopstix and bought a matcha boba (extra sweet as requested) and a taro boba. The taro boba was delicious and so was the matcha boba. They are very generous with the boba pearls. Tool about 5 minutes. Atmosphere inside makes up for the ugly exterior. read more

Came here for an early dinner. This place was okay. When i came here at 5:30 pm, the place was empty. People started coming in closer to 6 to dine in. But they do get more of pick up order than in. You ordered bun bo hue and spring roll. I enjoyed their spring roll with their peanut sauce. As for bun bo hue, it was alright. The broth itself doesn't taste like your typical bbh broth flavor. My parents also had pho. All the noodle soups, it has more meat than noodle so the ratios of noodle and meat wasn't balance. Chopstixs is a pretty good restaurant for pho, spring rolls and other Vietnamese favorites. This time, I ordered the Popcorn Chicken & Fried Chicken Wontons to satisfy a craving for something crunchy. Yum! These were so much fun to munch on! The Popcorn Chicken was light, crispy and tender, while the dumplings had the right amount and crunchy/chewy to them. Plus, eating with chopsticks right from the Chinese takeout box always makes it taste better! Lol read more

We ordered pho, fried rolls, spring rolls, basil chicken, fish balls, dumplings for 7 people. No soy sauce, rooster sauce, hoisen sauce, nor fried rolls dipping sauce was included. Chop sticks and napkins were not included either. Only the rolls were decent. The pho broth was watery, didn't even taste like beef broth and the noodles were hard. The shrimp is soft. But it's green shredded mango. I forgot I was eating fruit because there are other ingredients and together it really pops. I'm going to try the other salads as well. This restaurant was marvelous! The pho was light and flavorful, perfect if you just want a light meal. The service was quick and speedy, almost as though they knew what I wanted before I ordered. I'd like to start off by saying this noodle house in Salinas is phenomenal I was ranting and raving about about how absolutely delicious the wonton soup was to my coworker so we decided to head over for a lunch break. Because I know what to expect, I asked for less noodles, more vegetables, as did my coworker I'd like to start off by saying we seemed like we were absolutely bothering the young lady and young man that are working there for sure did not care one bit that we were there the service was extremely slow to take our order extremely slow to get our food and even slower to get a check a matter fact, I never got the check. I had to walk up to the front. and just asked to pay at that point we were running very late to get back to work- thank goodness we took separate cars. I sent my employee back to work as I did not want her to get in trouble for taking so long. Good thing she was with the boss lol. The fact that I can go to the one in Salinas walk in and place to go order And be back at home within 15 minutes but in this location taking over an hour to get some service was pretty ridiculous The actual soup was pretty good. However, they definitely did not honor our special request. Just a little disappointing because we work so close to here and being the rainy season coming up, it would be really nice to depend on this location to come through for some delicious soup. Sadly, I will not be back. Maybe it would be a better idea to drive across town to try the munras location or just stick with the trusty Salinas location . read more
