Chicken Basil Rice Bowl 24oz

Guy upfront should have used sick hrs today because he was not having it! Apparently they've been short staffed for a cool min. So they're probably burnt out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor was super cute, enough room to bring friends or family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Could make wheelchair access work, if you don't mind being a lil cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was tasty but extremely oily (for the clean foodies). Basil chicken is 24oz. In my case, it was enough to feed 2ppl.

This is a nice little Thai place, perfect for takeout, although we did dine in here. The staff was very nice and friendly. We ordered shrimp green curry, which came with rice and a couple of appetizers--spring rolls and coconut shrimp. All items were very good; I liked the coconut shrimp the most. Portions were quite generous.

Found Mai Thai Cuisine on Yelp and was not disappointed at all! Ordered via DoorDash for pick up and the food was ready when promised. The generous portion of pad se ew with chicken was appreciated! Lots of chicken and broccoli. I loved how they added cilantro to the noodles. It really brought out all the flavors. It's served with crushed peanuts on the side which completed the dish. They really packed it in the togo box where it was practically overflowing. The pumpkin curry with tofu was also delicious. It was not overly salty like some other Thai restaurants and was served with many pieces of squash and tofu. The tofu used was cubed into little pieces. The red rice was fragrant and was the perfect base to enjoy this curry dish with. The service was friendly when I went to pick it up. There's also a ton of parking spaces in this plaza.

I picked up a meal from here while we were vacationing in the area. The lady who helped me with the pickup and the waiter who got me a glass of water while I was waiting were super nice. They get 5 stars for service. Unfortunately, the food did not match the service. The veg pad thai was insipid. It was noodles with some sauce and a few carrots thrown in, could have definitely used more flavor and broccoli or tofu. Same with the fried rice, it was not well mixed and there were clumps of white rice. Food was a 2, rounding up to 3 because of the service. Maybe they just had an off day.

Well finally they have a store front. I used to follow Mai Thai around Monterey county at all the Farmers Markets and local events. They have the best Thai food around. The noodle bowls are just like at the farmers market. I recommend medium to spicy. It is just the right amount of heat and flavor. I also got their vegetarian spring rolls And these were spot on with a delicious peanut sauce. I'll be back soon to try their other dishes. I am really glad to see they have their own place. Note: they also serve Boba aka Bubble Tea.

I came here for my birthday lunch instead of supporting big chain restaurants. Our experience started off great! Dani hopped on the register from her lunch break to help take our order. She was kind, patient and answered all our questions. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken combo, the pad Thai with tofu combo, and a mango sticky rice dessert. Pros: - yellow curry was delicious - mango sticky rice had good flavor and sweetness - egg rolls were nice, crispy, and hot Cons: - the salad was going bad, left pink wetness that smelled rotten - pad Thai smelled fermented (almost like dog or cat food honestly) and tasted just as terrible - Thai tea had ZERO sweetness. Tasted like watered down creamer with a hint of tea flavor colored orange When we informed the staff about our experience, the owner Ava/Denise cut us off to say she'd give us a full refund and to NEVER COME BACK! I was in shock that a business owner would say such a thing. We told her we don't need a full refund and that we enjoyed the curry and dessert. She made it very clear that she didn't appreciate our feedback and didn't want our business. Don't worry Ava/Denise, we will NEVER be back.

Ordered a side of sticky rice for almost 4 bucks and it came in a ziplock bag? Wow....

It's warm, clean, and inviting. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. Some of my favorite dishes are the fresh rolls with peanut sauce, the Thai salads, and the mixed vegetables with peanut sauce. I love their Thai Tea! What truly sets this restaurant apart, though, is the exceptional hospitality. Sam, the owner, is very kind and always welcoming. He's always greeting guests with a smile and genuinely makes you feel appreciated. One Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day, (I can't remember which one) my family arrived late after the restaurant was already full. Even though they were busy and were closing soon, Sam welcomed us in. That kindness meant so much to us, and it's something I'll never forget. Between the outstanding food, authentic atmosphere, and incredible service, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend Siamese Bay Restaurant and will definitely be back! See you soon Sam!

The Pad Thai was definitely the highlight, perfectly cooked noodles coated in a rich, balanced sauce, and the beef was tender and flavorful. You really can't go wrong with it. The Panang Curry was also very enjoyable. The curry itself was creamy and full-bodied, and pairing it with rice really brought out the depth of flavor. I ordered it with chicken, which was good, but I do wish there had been a bit more of it. The Tom Kah Kai was incredibly rich and aromatic. The broth had a deep, comforting flavor, and the mushrooms were surprisingly the star, soaking up the soup and adding an extra layer of umami that made each bite better than the last. Service was fast and attentive, with the staff consistently checking in and keeping water filled, which I appreciated. The ambiance had a nice, authentic feel that really complemented the meal and made the whole experience more immersive.

Tree House Cafe has been on…read moreour radar for the longest time already but they are so in demand that it's a bit hard to get a reservation sometimes. Parking can be difficult as they are located in downtown Carmel. Came in a bit early to try to be seated earlier but they were fully booked so we waited for our designated reservation time. They always serve you with complimentary bread service of focaccia in garlic infused olive oil & balsamic vinegar. We had grilled calamari and crispy garlic fries for starters. Our main dishes were Seafood pasta, Gyros Platter, Prawn Pasta, Osso Buco and Steak of the Day - 16 oz sirloin in peppercorn sauce. Dessert was cookie butter banana pie and complimentary baklava. Tree House cafe is a cozy rooftop restaurant with shaded outdoor seating as well as indoor seating located in the heart of Carmel. They're a mixture of Mediterranean, Greek and Thai flavors. Reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere, pet friendly and good food. What more can you ask for. Definitely a must try when in this side of town. June 2026

The indoor and…read moreoutdoor seating is beautiful, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff was genuinely friendly from start to finish. The first thing they brought out was bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and, no joke, that ended up being my favorite bite of the meal. I was still thinking about the bread while eating everything else, which probably says more than I intended. The clam chowder was good and comforting, but if you've had chowder in Monterey, you know the bar is pretty high. The calamari was the bigger disappointment. It was chewy instead of tender and didn't have that light, crispy crunch that makes calamari worth ordering in the first place. By the time we finished the chowder and calamari we were full, but we still looked through the menu to see if anything tempted us. Honestly, nothing really stood out. The pasta prices felt steep, and there wasn't a dish that made us say, "Okay, we have to come back and try that." The only thing that really took away from the experience was how close the tables were. I could hear the people next to us whispering and accidentally became invested in a conversation I was never invited to. Overall, it's a cute place with great service and a nice ambiance that's worth checking out if you're visiting Carmel. I don't regret going, but I also don't see myself going back. On the bright side, at least the bread gave me something to remember. Someone in that kitchen deserves a raise for that basket alone.
