    #14 BEEF GLASS NOODLE
    Julie S.

This is a cute spot in Monterey for Vietnamese cuisine. Apparently, they are a chain, but I haven't been to other locations. Even though they were a little busy, we got seated right away, and it didn't take too long for our food to come out. They offer a wide selection of milk tea and boba drinks, as well as many Vietnamese classics. I wasn't in the mood for soup, so I ordered the beef with glass noodles instead of pho, which would have been my go-to. It was very fresh. This is a good place to pop in for a quick Vietnamese meal. They do have a parking lot, but it was full when we got there, and it was easy enough to find street parking.

My go to place weekly! I always get their spicy beef with eggplant, basil and cucumber.... Always soooo delicious!!!

The food was awesome ! We had the spring rolls, potstickers, papaya salad for a start they were all delicious and they were very quick. We also had two other dishes soup and sliced pork over noodles both delicious I give it 5 out of 5

Five stars. I got the vegan pho, and loved it. The $2 for a large is so worth it - got a full meal of leftovers despite eating a lot in the restaurant. The broth was maybe not the most flavorful but the tofu was super good, broth was solid, and they were very generous with noodles and veggies. My partner really enjoyed his tofu ramen dish (though he wished there was less celery). So cute and cozy on the inside with cute outdoor seating as well. Service was super fast, food came probably within 15 minutes of ordering. Value was so high; we got large entrees for $16 each (which as I said meant two meals for me and my partner left veryyyyy full). Would come back every weekend if I lived here.

I ordered the pho beef and the broth was pretty flavorful. Only complain I have is that they didn't put a lot of beef. Service was pretty great, the guy was super fast that was attending us. It was pretty busy when we arrived but we waited less than five minutes to be seated. Overall the ambiance of the restaurant was more on the modern side.

The service was absolutely incredible! We came 30 minutes before close not expecting the food to be top notch. We were proven so wrong! The food was incredibly fresh, served hot, and beyond delicious! The flavors exploded with every bite! My husband has never like Pho, yet, he absolutely loved this one! Ate every bite! The building was very clean, and the staff were friendly! Their Vietnamese egg rolls were the best I've ever had! I highly highly highly recommend them! Their prices were SO FAIR! The best in the area and their food was so great!

We came in just for a quick snack and tea. This place is great! They were not busy, but the service was great. The area is cool and they have a nice eating area. The food was awesome.

After a long, chilly day at Laguna Seca Raceway, my boyfriend and I were craving something warm and comforting, so we checked out the nearest pho spot. The place was pretty small and filled up fast around dinner time. We both ordered the 5B--combination noodle soup--and it totally exceeded our expectations. The broth was rich and flavorful, with plenty of noodles and a generous amount of meat. The regular size is the standard, with the option to upgrade to a large for $2 more. I liked that they offer fresh handmade noodles, but I stuck with the classic pho noodles. The staff was super friendly, and the prices were surprisingly affordable. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area and in the mood for a warm bowl of pho!

The atmosphere was calm and inviting, and the service was good. Our food arrived quickly, which was a nice bonus. The prices are fair, not expensive, but still good for the quality. We really enjoyed the food, and everything tasted great. Overall, I had a great experience. I would definitely come back and would recommend this place to others.

Came to California to visit family and my partner said we should try a pho place since we were both in the mood for soup. It was great and very flavorful! His was spicy while I just got the normal meatball pho. I thought the interior was very causal and comfortable and I had a good time visiting here :)! I will definitely be back for more next year!

My daughter and I started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I had the sea bass, easily one of the best I've had in a long time. Whenever I see sea bass on a menu, I never pass it up, and I have to say Flying Fish Grill's version is now one of my all-time favorites. Salmon Salad - Solid set of lettuce and a generous portion of fresh salmon, highly recommend if you like fresh greens + salmon 4. Side Salad - Not only a solid serving of greens, but cherry tomatoes, broccoli, and a bunch of other nice finds completed the salad Room for improvement: 1. Chirashi - Rice was bland and the cuts of fish were 1/4" thick, which is not a great way to enjoy sashimi 2. Sushi Dinner - Overall, solid, except for the hamachi. It was rancid. There's a nice outdoor bar area where you can get drinks and appetizers while waiting for your seat. Slow cooked pork belly : 20/10 must try! Szechuan pork ribs: 7/10 Not bad, but the Szechuan flavor lacked and it tasted more like Sriracha. Half butterfish and half ahi tuna dish: 8/10 the sauces were PHENOMENAL!! I'm going to need to get their recipe for their fragrant herbaceous green sauce and the coconutty umami white sauce. The butterfish had a bit of lingering fishiness but the texture was nice with a carmelized crust and soft insides. The ahi tuna was to be expected. Watch out for the spicy wasabi brown sauce! Dark chocolate raspberry molten lava cake: 8/10 I love lava cakes and they gave us an extra cup of dark chocolate to pour on top. I wish the raspberry flavor tasted more natural though. We were looking for some lighter eats and Edwin's provides some great options there. Service was improved and very welcoming (I think last time they hadn't been open long). Once again we had the Lumpia-style Crispy Rolls and the Crispy Chicken Strips, and again they were delicious. My wife also had the Apple Salad which was also very good. I chose the Singapore Chili Prawns, which was not overly spicy, and very flavorful with perfectly cooked shrimp. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. We were only going to have a quick meal and then head back to the hotel to relax, but it turned out to Open Mike night (basically Karaoke). The two hosts were engaging and good singers, so we stuck around as they were taking requests and had an appreciation for 80's music. Eventually other patrons and singers arrived, and we ended up sticking around for 2 hours. It was a lot of fun, and the manager brought us a couple of Coconut Macaroons on the house, that were yummy. One piece of constructive criticism for the owners is that they need to upgrade the space to give it more of a tropical resort vibe, which would make it a really unique option in Carmel along with the menu. The space as is, is a good foundation. Just a few new light fixtures and some larger plants would create a really cool space. As an example, they should look at pictures of Khaluna in Minneapolis.

I think he was a new guy but no water was given and he wasn't attentive to anyone. Dexter had to step in to take my order. During my time there, I had noticed that they bus the tables LONG after the former customers leave, which led to more people getting delayed in sitting, which was super confusing to watch. The food was genuinely good but the overall experience just overshadows it and I don't know if I'll be back.

Between the two of us, we shared: - Miso cacio e pepe: we came specifically for this! It's one of their most well known dishes, and I highly highly recommend! So creamy and savory, and the mafaldine pasta has such a nice texture, the ruffled edges hold on to sauce perfectly. We also added a bit of gochujang that came with the bibimbap and it was so good with some spice. - Dolsot bibimbap: my husband's favorite Korean dish so of course we had to get it! An excellent variety of veggies, which was nice since we barely got any veg on vacation. The kalbi beef was so juicy and delicious, and not overcooked. - Matcha Tiramisu: absolute must get, so unique. The cake layers were soaked in matcha, and topped off with some fresh fruit. - Grapefruit sake spritz: I was on the fence between this cocktail and the yuzu champagne spritz. Our waitress said that the grapefruit spritz was much less sweet, and I am so glad I decided to go with that option! It was the perfect amount of sweetness, not overwhelming. Overall, my husband and I agreed that the matcha tiramisu was the best bite either of us had all weekend!
