I'm a big fan of this place. I can't eat here too often because eating salads gets old, but they do offer a large variety of options. My favorite is the Mexican Caesar with chicken and spicy Mexican Cesar dressing. They offer a Chipotle style of options to put into your salad as well as options that are already hand-picked for you. I've been here multiple times and never had any issues with wilted/old ingredients. Everything is always fresh. They also offer a free little piece of bread with your order which is a nice touch. Many people complain about their prices, and they are high, but you do get a lot of salad for your money. I find that if you order a pre-selected salad it is cheaper that creating your own. I've eaten their salads as a late lunch and was full the rest of the day. Along with the fresh ingredients this place is a win for me. The service is also a win. The people that work here are always so friendly and really try to get you in and out. Sometimes it can be very slow due to the fact that they actually mix and chop your salad for you, but it's worth the wait imo. Also a tip for folks dining here, their cookies are amazing. Usually I would never take the time to write a review... but Blake from the Chopt in Florham Park deserves one. I go to Chopt at least 4 times a week and at this point some of the employees know me. I will be honest - my salad isn't the easiest salad and most of the other employees have at least messed it up once -- but Blake never has. He takes the time to make sure that he has all of the ingredients correct, and always has a smile on his face (at this point he knows my salad by heart). After getting Blake as my person a couple of times, I realized I will not let anybody else make my salad. I will specifically ask for Blake every time -- and if I were you, I would too! Blake deserves a promotion because honestly I would not be going to chopt if he wasn't there. Super busy at lunch time. I love how customizable (is that a word?) the salads are, but they also have a great list of suggested ones. I don't like Iceberg or Romaine much and I like that I can sub or add Kale and Spinach if I'd like. Every dressing I've tried has been super tasty. Sometimes you may get a slow "chopper" which can hold up your order but it's not too bad. The line keeps moving. Free water - always a plus! Let it be known, the salads are HUGE. Haven't been here in a while and stopped in today to pick up some salads. I brought my husband to try it out for his first time. It was completely dead , which was a nice change. But I was super surprised and quite disappointed at how dirty it was!!! One of the things I noticed the first time I came was how impressively clean the workstations and dining area were. Today there was lettuce all over the floor in in the ordering area in front of the workstations and all of the ingredients were a mess!!! Super disappointing! I have been waiting for Chop't to open in this area for a long time. The food is very fresh and delicious. My only qualm is it takes long to go through the whole process of lining up, waiting, selecting your ingredients, waiting, getting your salad chopped and dressed and then checking out. Dirty, unkept and always out of stock. This location has gone so downhill over the past year. Used to be great now myself and my office will never return. I just don't see how they're going to make it. I went when it was very sparsely crowded, and it still took quite some time to get my salad. To give them the benefit of the doubt, that was partially due to the lady ahead of me at the "chopping zone" who simply couldn't be bothered to answer any of the questions the chopper asked her, nor could she make up her mind about anything. My chopper, while finalizing my salad, poured a ridiculous amount of dressing into my salad. Then proceeded to ask me if it was enough! Too late at that point, as I simply didn't have time to spare for a remake. My dijon with a side of salad was well... how do you think? Furthermore, stick with their menu concoctions, and modify them ever so slightly if you want a reasonably priced salad. If you come up with your own creation, be prepared to pay 20-50 percent more. 2 stock salads with 2 bottles of water came out to nearly $40. Expensive food. Service that needs to speed it up a bit. Absolutely delicious salads with lots of choices. People mention the price often : It's not cheap but you get a big salad with lots of toppings. I don't feel ripped off at all. The staff is very nice and the place is always clean. Their creative dressings are some of the best I've ever had. You generally can't get in and out quickly due to the way your order is prepared so don't expect Chipotle speed. Worth the wait though. The downside ... At least half of the time I go, they are out of bread . I'm not talking about late at night. I'm referring to the heart of dinner hour . I know there is no extra charge for bread but obviously it is built into the cost of the salad . Whoever does the bread ordering should pay more attention to that . They should offer some kind of discount or coupon for next time instead of "Sorry , we're out of bread". The price for soup : $5.49 for a TINY serving is crazy . Lemonade and ice tea drinks : $2.99 , is kind of high. No fountain sodas available. They do serve complimentary water , both plain and lemon/cucumber. A great addition to the florham park area!!!! I love all the salads and bowls they offer and you can just taste the freshness! They also have a well orchestrated assembly line set up. The only time it gets awkward is when you are with more than one person but one person is paying for all-you have to wait until every one is together leaving you you waiting off to the side to try and stay out of the way. All the staff was friendly and helpful, bathrooms were spotless, and my meal was delicious. I don't leave my office for lunch often but this is an amazing option I am glad to have now!!! read more

It is time to bid adieu to this Chop't location. The staff are unbelievably rude and make the salad-ordering experience unbearable. I know it sounds silly but the fact that I can't go into this restaurant and order a salad without the worst attitude from the same handful of miserable employees is really sad! I don't need the salad maker to be my new BFF but it would be humanly decent to acknowledge the items I am ordering and to not throw my salad up on the counter that I have to jump so it doesn't fall off. They don't look at you, don't acknowledge you, won't answer a question about a particular salad, etc. They don't want to be there at all, and it shows. I've been there a few times and normally the salads are fine, but this time I placed an order through their app right around noon. The app said that the order would be ready at 12:43, which seemed like a reasonable time. Unfortunately, at 1:15, the order was still not ready and I had to l leave to be back at work for a meeting. So, I told the clerk that I wanted to cancel my order. He asked for my email address to get a refund, and said that would come through soon. It's been 2 weeks and I still have not received a refund, and calling the restaurant doesn't seem to help as no one really seems interested in solving the problem. So basically, I paid $11.75 to stand in line for a half an hour, and got nothing in return. I get it, the place is still new and probably going through some growing pains, but this is not acceptable. I always choose Chop't when I'm in the city and craving a salad so, I was very happy to see it open here! It is definitely a process and not a grab and go type of place. You need to stand in line, order, select ingredients, get it chopped, add your dressing, and then pay. They have a lot of different options in their menu so, there's definitely something for everyone. The ingredients are super fresh and the staff is very friendly/helpful. The Harvest salad had inedible pieces DARK MEAT chicken, not white meat as per the photo. The Cobb salad? I didn't know it was possible to chop up 1 oz of chicken, a 1/2" shred of bacon and a crumble of blue cheese into so many micro pieces that they were unidentifiable. The only good thing- good bread. Added a solid 5 minutes extra to my wait and the prep person sheepishly apologized after it happened. Parking lot is very busy and can be hard to find parking at lunchtime... may have to be patient waiting for a spot. First I love this idea! Great fresh food locally! The staff here were really great very helpful and did not mind all my questions. They also were so busy but still managed to keep everything moving.I had the the summer picnic salad and it was a bit spicy but really good. My husband had the classic Cobb it was also very good.
