Splendor Mountain - The Sunrise Lodge was decorated as the bride requested. We loved this theme. She even had the ceremony styled in the safe manner.

The reception was at the lodge, and the space and bar were prefect. We had a fire pit with s'mores and space for a Photo Booth. I loved the bridal bungalow and had so much space to get ready. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was clean and romantic. The owner is the most lovely woman (Chevin), who was so easy to work with.

But there was many issues with the rental. First of all, downstairs basement had a musty smell. Although there was a dehumidifier in place, a couple of my friends started feeling unwell after spending one night down in the basement. Second of all there was a gas leak at the grill so we couldn't use the grill at all in fear that that doing so would cause a fire. In additional, the dock at the lake was so rotted my friend got a big splinter in her feet! Also the lawn chairs were literally falling apart when someone sits on them! All of these things weren't be a big deal if the owners are helpful and compassionate , but instead they've become so greedy and judgmental even though they called themselves good Christians. We left a good review for previously hoping they can remedy the situation and we can move pass it but none prevail. It makes hard for me to want to refer this place to anyone in fear of their safety.

Terra is located at the end of a long uphill road and is worth the drive. Head on up knowing that you will have some good wine and views and you will be hosted by exceptional people. Off the beaten path is an understatement. The wine was spectacular, the setting - alone on the mountaintop entirely surrounded by National Forest, and the staff were informative and friendly. (Tip: the husband is more detailed with the wine descriptions, while the wife serves bigger pours - at least in my case.) Given the difficulty of reaching this place I was surprised to find it fairly busy on this Saturday evening, with several groups sitting at comfortable tables and couches. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a flight of 5 wines. All great so I had to buy some to take home too. It was hard to stop at two bottles. In an addition to the amazing ambience, windows all around with views of the National Forest and orchards in every direction, there was also music that night: a man singing and playing his guitar. He was pretty good. I learned he makes the rounds playing at several wineries around here. This is a family-run business. In addition to the husband and wife I met there is also a brother or two and I think a son or daughter. They also run an event venue, visible from the winery over on the next hill. A relatively small business - the kind I like.
