As a rule, I never wait for a restaurant. If it's busy I go somewhere else. Chow is the exception. This is my brunch spot whenever I'm occasionally in Bend, and some weekends I go two days in a row :) I love eggs Benedict; they have a couple of standard ones on the menu and usually also a couple of amazing specials. They have three levels of house made hot sauce with complex flavor; don't forget to try them! The bloody mary's are yummy too. I wish there was a brunch place I liked as well in Portland. read more

Amazing. Have to go on weekdays though. No chance of getting in on weekends - can blame them though. Best breakfast in town. Get the crabcakes over a bed of spinach and don't forget the 3 bottled sauces include - habanero over it works amazing. We stopped by on Labor Day for breakfast. The place was extremely busy, as expected but the staff were very courteous and efficient in making sure tables moved quickly. We were quoted an hour but it took about 45 minutes if that, to get seated. The Caesar is KILLER good! Drinks were also great! the staff are amazing people. Anyone that complains about this place, especially when they respond to a review, sticking up for themselves and their establishment, need to get a life. A small business relies on it's customers and a bad review can make or break a place, especially when the review is not justified. read more

Love this place! We had breakfast here outside on a lovely day and the 4 of us loved everything. Their breakfast is so unique with so many delicious options. Homemade bread and jam. The freshest ingredients- many grown onsite made everything taste phenomenal. We really wanted to go back once more before we left Bend but not enough time. Chow is by far the best restaurant I've been to in Bend. First of all, I really appreciate that they source local ingredients. Their staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is very aesthetically pleasing- lots of light, local art, as well as a warm fire outside while you wait in the winter. The food is super tasty! I'm usually disappointed with food in Bend, but the food at Chow tastes like it's actually been made by educated cooks/chefs and it's not overpriced. Healthy, gourmet, but not overly complicated. The crab cakes are really yummy! They have homemade jams, bread, and hot sauces. I look forward to going in the summer when there's outdoor seating and musicians. My one complaint is that it's not open for dinner! read more

This is a darling brunch spot. If I lived in Bend, this would probably be my go-to. Love the outdoor seating (they prefer not to seat people indoor bc of the heat). I had the crab cake sandwich which was pretty hard to beat. Also tried the French toast but it was not my fave (standard thick French bread with a hint of orange peel). Order off the local board. Yes! Scrambles are hard to screw up, but they are also hard to perfect. Chow is perfection -- order at will b/c it will be good. Lots of veggie options and stellar tea choices. I had the coffee and it was great to sip on a cup before being seated outside. This place is the bomb! First off, Bloody Mary's are great. The pickled veggies it comes with are very unique and the mix is also something you don't get. It had some kind of celery or cucumber juice that was very refreshing. Next the meals. The GF got some beef brisket Benedict, served on crispy polenta with horsey hollandaise - see good. I order pork something on a fried tortilla with jalapeño creamy polenta . I got something without the polenta, taters instead. The server was quick to respond and said just keep the taters and he would fetch up some polenta. I started eating and it was great. The server came back and told me I had the wrong order completely and brought me what I really ordered. It was so good. Excellent meat and great textures. We both agreed - one of the best breakies we've had. Get your mouth around some of their food. Prices were a bit high though. read more

We had a large group 8, but they were able to accommodate us quickly on a Monday late morning (we called ahead 10 mins away which helped). All of us enjoyed our food very much - very delicious and hot. Excellent food! Coffee was great too - and we're coffee snobs. Our server Mike was starting a shift with just a few hours sleep, and yet he was still attentive and friendly to our large party. CHOW will definitely be our breakfast go-to spot when we return to Bend. read more

Chow provided a great brunch experience. I got the huevos rancheros and it was pretty amazing. We waited about 20 minutes when they told us the wait would be 35 minutes, which is nice. I think it is a great place, but probably not worth waiting over 30 minutes for. They were also slightly understaffed, but managed to serve us pretty well given that. read more

The Bloody Mary's will guarantee a return visit if I am ever in Bend again. Proper amount of infused vodka (nice an spicy), delicious pickled garnish, and balanced base. We waited for around 30 minutes, but the fire outside and the spicy Bloody Mary's made it an easy wait. My only complaint is that the food provided did not come out hot. read more

I've eaten in the restaurant a couple times, and the food is fine...the service a bit slow and lackluster but passable. Never worthy of a comment until I tried to do a To Go lunch for 12 people. Their website has a menu posted...but it is far from up to date, and when asked if they could fax one over I was told they are having computer troubles...so "No." Could not have been more shocked or disappointed, but glad to know some businesses are doing well enough to turn down business. read more

Chow was about as good as it gets. The food pairings were local, sustainable, and very creative. We started off with a bloody, which was fantastic, and moved on to our main course. My fiance loved the gluten free bread and I particularly enjoyed the homemade hot sauces. I'd highly recommend giving them a try! read more

The food was great. The eggs were spot on. The signature tea was amazing. Very sweet and fragrant. The staff were all incredibly friendly and worked really well together to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a great treat to swing in here. Great service and quaint environment. Had the Monte Cristo which I had them hold the onions, because I thought that was odd. Turns out, the sandwich could have used the flavor of the onions. The French Toast was a little bland. Their tea is delicious, especially the chai. Will go again. read more

Had a party of 7 and we waiting for almost 2 hours. The hostess didn't put us in the book after we talked to her and we tried to be accommodating by saying we would eat on the lawn. They gave us menus, never came back to take our order and then told us their kitchen couldn't handle our party. I haven't had such a horrible "attempted" dining experience in a very long time. Management needs to pay more attention to how they threat their guests. read more
