This place was packed! Considering the reviews, I didn't expect much and it really met that. The food was ok. Bbq join with some fried dinner items and a bunch of chicken, ribs and they even have spaghetti. I took home the dish because it was big, but the warm up wasn't that great. It's better there. Decor was like a flashback to 80s. The lady cashiering didn't seem she liked people too much because when I asked her if I can sit at the counter, instead of saying a simple yes or no, her response was she's helping someone else. Discovered their baby back ribs, which were amazing, over, holy crap (severely dating myself here) 30 years ago! At this location. So, I short this spot has been around a long time!! Went again, well, 10 years ago with my dear late mom. She too lived Chris' & Pitt's! I miss her. Well, I think it's time to go back again. Now that we are working more in So Cal, looks like I will get to eat those delicious baby back ribs sooner than later! If I would have made this review a few weeks ago it would have been pretty good, but this evening it was a horrible experience, It was a family member's birthday and all they wanted was the onion flower because we had it a few weeks ago and it was amazing! We were in a different city all day celebrating but wanted to wait until we got back to our side of town to eat here because we had the craving ( we had only been here one time before just recently) Right from the beginning when we entered we were asked "How many in our group" Then stood in the doorway for 5 minutes ( holding the door open and the four of us were partially inside while the others were outside , so awkward. ) while the hostess called Naomi name 5 times trying to get her attention to seat us, it was awkward to the point of almost walking out but we were really hungry and waited it out. It doesn't help the customer experience when the host is cold and un relatable especially when you notice it yourself yet choose not to say anything then another person comes in and turns to me and says exactly what I was thinking about the host being real short and could seem to care less. If I experienced this as well as another person in the same day, you know management knows.! The lady customer that I did have the chat with did say the Whittier location has better service than the other two locations, FYI. I have a pet peeve about expiration dates and the same lady bought their sauce in a bottle and one was expired, not good! (That was an eye opener to check no matter where you buy). Right off the 91 and Bellflower. Happy that this place is still around. I grew up with this nostalgic place with my family. The outside of the building brings back happy memories. We went on two recent occasion Friday night 8pm and was seated quickly. My husband and friends party of 4 came again on Sat night 6:30 and was seated right away in the back of restaurant at large booth. The food is just like I remember 35years ago. The place is original but it is kept clean. Booth and tables clean. We had the 6 oz top sirloin steak $16.99 cooked perfectly seasoned with au jus and 2 sides and garlic bread. I have been going to "Chris & Pitt's" in Bellflower for more than 20 years. They do this type of food well. It is a "No Frills" restaurant and their prices are in- line with the product they serve. We ordered the $73 combo for us so we could try all the meats- Full dinner ?-It's about $38-45 pp and they have a "deal" for two for $73.95 or $36.98 per person The other issue I have is the total price they want you to tip on includes 2% for using a credit card and sales tax.....????? After hearing about the long history of Chris & Pitt's and never getting to try the locations in Orange County that eventually closed, I decided to come to the Bellflower location for lunch to see what I've been missing. When I walked in about noon it wasn't full yet, I was told I could sit anywhere and so I chose to walk towards the far end of the restaurant and sit by the windows. Eventually the restaurant got close to full during the time I was there. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich lunch special with a salad and their homemade blue cheese dressing as my one side. The salad came out promptly and I enjoyed the thick dressing, but the salad was basically just iceberg lettuce and served with saltine crackers. It then took a while for the pulled pork sandwich to come out and so I decided to order a half order of onion rings to eat along with the sandwich. The sandwich wasn't bad but the pulled pork was covered in BBQ sauce and that's all you really taste. The half order of onion rings were a good-sized portion, tasty and was served with a side of their BBQ sauce. As for my my server, she was grumpy and not pleasant when taking my order and never came by to check in or refill my drink. While I was eating, the couple sitting behind me told the server they had waited 25 minutes for their food, was no longer hungry, cancelled their order and left. When I was all done eating, I almost got up to go to the front register since I had to wait around for an eternity for the server before she delivered me my check. read more

Food: beef ribs extra fatty and drenched in salty sauce. The sides seemed old and cafeteria like.... Service: Rude and depressing staff. No smiles or cheer from anyone. Ambiance: dirty dirtier and dirtiest place around. You feel slimy when you leave. Don't even try to park here it's awful and just dangerous. I wanted to take a risk by getting a non-bbq item at a typically bbq food place and I'm so happy I did. I started my meal with the chicken rice soup and it warmed me to my true core. I didn't know I could be tricked into eating celery but Chris' & Pitt's did it. I felt the need for a fresh bite and my salad did the trick. It was loaded with fresh lettuce (not the core or wilted parts you get at other restaurants), tomato, corn, hard boiled egg, pickles, cheese, grilled chicken, and a side a ranch. One day I'll try their homemade Blue Cheese dressing but I'm not ready to leave ranch...yet. I never had pickles on a salad and I've got to say, now it's a must have! To balance the salad out, you are served with a nice toasty piece of garlic bread. I didn't feel like I missed on the "hearty" meal experience with my salad.
