It came with a choice of rice and we got the yellow rice. It was not basmati rice but looked like it. The food was cooked to order so it took about 10 minutes. As one other reviewer noted, our meats were pretty chewy, especially the pork. Couldn't finish the pork it was so chewy and had a lot of tough fat. Funny, I didn't even know Tony's BBQ was located in Artesia until I saw them in passing when I was in route to the Simply Eggless Bakery - Délicieux to pick up a Black Forest eggless cake. This restaurant has a colorful and fun decor. They have inside seating. No outside seating. Their menu has a variety of food / drink / dessert options. They offer individual items and combo plates. I have been to 3 other Tony's BBQ locations and they pretty much have similar selections. Now I can say I've been to #4. The lady who took my order was very welcoming and friendly. I got 3 pork sticks and 3 chicken sticks. They were huge and tasty! Both my daughters love them. I enjoyed them, too. Chicken was good, but we liked the pork better. I think the pork soaks in the marinated sauce better than the chicken does IMHO. I'll be getting more pork sticks next time for sure. First time for me at this place. It's a very generic name that I think people thinks it's a normal BBQ place. It's a Filipino restaurant. Very simple menu but delicious. Ordered liempo, grilled squid and pancit canton mix. Came with Java rice. The squid was perfectly grilled. The mango juice and sago at gulaman was on point. Price point is just right. Though there's seating inside, all orders are packed in to-go foam boxes. I'm a bit environmentally conscious so I hope they change this for dine-in customers. Use simple plates, trays, and utensils that you can easily clean in a dishwasher. My favorite items I would order again are the lomi, beef ribs, and fried tuna collard greens. My least favorite was the pork bbq. It was chewy. They should use a more tender part of the meat The java rice that comes with all combos was tasty; however when I eat something saucy bbq, I prefer plain white rice to balance out the thick sweet flavors. We also enjoyed the Java rice, it was a big hit with the group! This spot is located in a pretty big plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have about 4-5 tables for seating. They have a nice cozy and homey vibe with Filipino inspired decor. For their menu, they have some amazing combo meals, side orders, and desserts. Wifey and I ended up getting the Beef Ribs Combo, Pork Liempo Combo, an Ube Bibingka, and a Sago't Gulaman to wash it all down. The sauce tasted like their version of Mang Tomas which always compliments grilled meats well. They also had an egg drop soup on the side which adds some soupy bites in between. Their taho was a classic with the usual silken tofu, sago, and arnibal (brown sugar syrup). It's a little steep for $8 a serving, but not a lot of places serve this so it's definitely worth getting. I came in really looking forward to some pancit Lomi, but after waiting 20 minutes, I was told it wasn't available. A bit frustrating, but I agreed to a substitute pancit canton which they said was available. What really disappointed me was that I wasn't offered any compensation for the price difference or even a small extra for the inconvenience. Then I had to wait another 20 minutes for the replacement. When the food finally arrived, it just didn't deliver. The noodles were way too soft, and honestly, it tasted like instant canton noodles not what I was expecting from a restaurant. Was craving pinoy food after visiting my Mom's gravesite at Forest Lawn in Cypress with a friend. Yelped for options in the area and was happy to see there's a Tony's Barbecue around. TBH, I've never had any of their meals. I had visited the Carson and then West Covina just to order dozens of their ube bibingkinitan. Everything here is grilled except for the egg rolls. There were 2 dishes we wanted to try so my friend and I decided to share. She ordered the chicken inasal meal and I opted for the seabass meal. Both meals came with eggdrop soup and java rice. WOW! We were very impressed with how tasty both meals were. The chicken was juicy and tender. And the seabass was perfectly grilled and seasoned sooo well! And the sauce that came with it was irresistible. The only knock is the chicken portion was a little on the small side. I think for $14.95, there should be 3 pieces instead of 2.
