i went to Christian Brothers Automotive in Spring to diagnose a ticking noise coming from the engine on a car I just purchased. I ended up paying a little over $1200 for the diagnosis which also included a charge of $250 for spark plugs, $250 for radiator coolant flush and $250 for brake fluid flush. The technicians diagnosed the problem as a knock and I needed to replace the engine but with nothing to back up their diagnosis. I went to another shop and got the same diagnosis, again, with the same diagnosis and nothing to back up or guide me to the problem. Finally, I called Angel Car Medic (via Yelp) and got a very detailed diagnostic report including cylinder pressures. They pulled the spark plugs and showed me how bad they were - even after just being replaced. Long story short, the diagnosis Christian Brothers provided was correct but they charged way too much for the other services. I was so stupid to select them for this! read more

I am livid with Christian Brothers Automotive. I booked an appointment two days ahead, arrived on time, and sat in their waiting area for THREE agonizing hours. Not a single technician inspected my truck. Staff offered vague excuses and zero updates while servicing walk-ins ahead of me. This is blatant disrespect for customers' time. Their "Christian values" of integrity, transparency and excellence? Total hypocrisy. I walked out without letting them touch my vehicle and will NEVER return or support this business. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Save yourself the frustration--go anywhere else. No one should waste their time here. read more

If I could do zero stars I would. We had an issue with our car where it was leaking coolant which caused our engine to overheat. I looked around for shops near us and I actually recommended this one based on the great reviews. Biggest mistake and a super costly one at that. We knew where the leak was likely coming from, as when the engine starts to warm up, you can see it dripping. They did all types of inspections and advised to change a couple of parts, we picked up our car a few days and $1700 later. Our engine overheated once again the same day with the same unfixed leak, absolutely nothing changed and in three of their inspections they "checked connections and hoses." Absolute lies, as the hose and leak were untouched. They finally fixed what we told them was wrong (they changed the clips of the connection but really the main hose that was leaking should've been replaced as it's spongy) from the beginning today after inspecting it yet again. We'll see if this "repair" holds up and if we'll have coolant dripping again. We definitely don't recommend this place, they'll definitely scam you to have you pay for work that's not necessary unfortunately. read more

Took my car in for the annual inspection and was out within 20 minutes. But more than that, the atmosphere of the waiting area was tranquil, relaxing, and PROFESSIONAL. The employees were focused on working and helping customers. I observed their interactions with two different customers and heard two phone customers. Employees were respectful and calm while being attentive and gracious. Best of all, it has been a long time since I was in a place of business and did not have to listen to employees complaining about coworkers, customers, bosses, and personal lives. My experience with Christian Brothers Automotive is usually very impressive. This last time I have to give kudos to Christian, the young man who drove me home from the shop. He was very polite and when I saw him later, he was also very kind and made me feel better after having spent almost $1000 to fix my car. The other person that I must give kudos to is Jimmy. He called me and made sure that I understood all the things that needed to be fixed on my car. He also made sure I had a print out of these things when I came to pick up my car. The only complaint I would make is that the front desk needs to be better about keeping people on hold for too long. I was on hold three different times that day. One of times was over 10 minutes when I finally hung up and called back. Later, when it was time for me to come and get my car, I was also put on hold for a very long time. I also hung up and called back very frustrated. I would've given a five star rating if I hadn't had problems with this. read more

Came here for a state inspection on car #1. The rep there stated that I would have to drive to the county office to get my sticker because I recently moved here from Dallas, TX. I questioned that because I was current and had the paperwork; but, he told me it was true. So, believing him, I drove the 8 miles to that office. I called to see the availability for the #2 car state inspection and they told me to come on in. When I got there, I checked in and asked about the sticker (it was getting close to the county closing its office) lamenting that I was having to drive to the county for my sticker. They asked me if I had my inspection letter on car #1- yes I did. They asked if I was past due on my sticker for car #1- no, it was still current. They couldn't understand why I was told to drive out there for car #1, when I could have easily gotten my sticker locally. I was a disappointed that their employee told me this; but, I chalked it off as an "oh well." After waiting about 30 minutes on car #2, I was told that the inspection machine wasn't working 'again' and to return in a few days, with a $5 off coupon for the inconvenience. My disappointment returned. I drove to another company and got my inspection within 20 minutes, went to Kroger to get my sticker and I am now current on car #2. read more

Have been using this company for oil changes, primarily so I could finally collect on my "free" oil change. Buy 3 get the 4th for "free". When it is time to checkout, after my 4th oil change, I was told that they only have 2 previous oil changes recorded on the computer. Thankfully I saved my prior paper receipts, so there was no more arguing that point. Secondly, after reviewing the inspection pictures, I noticed there were leaves, pine needles and other crap just sitting on the engine under the hood. Did anyone tell me? Or clean it out? Nope. Just left it all there. Thirdly, they stated my back brake pads and rotors needed replacing. Yes the pads needed it. No on the rotors, they could still be machined. The price was significantly more than a competitor just around the corner. So yeah - the office and waiting area is nice. But keep all your receipts. And don't expect detailed 'inspections' or even the courtesy of letting you know strange debris is sitting under your hood. Also, expect to overpay. read more

We felt confident in the service we were about to receive. We had a complete brake job done on our Audi. We are fairly new to the area and needed someone to trust. We have found that trust and more. Been in the area for about 2 years and had read some reviews. Finally had a friend who recommended Christian Brothers and super glad I brought in my car for an alignment. The entire experience from calling for an appointment to picking up and having the work explained was great. I have a 10 year old Mercedes all-wheel drive wagon and they showed me all the alignment results and explained what they did. Also, the amount quoted was EXACTLY what I was billed. This location is fantastic! My Mustang was having issues bogging down and threw an engine code. The code on my reader was not specific enough to know the actual problem, but the good folks at Christian Brothers were able to diagnose the true cause, which was my purge valve. That saved me from replacing knock sensors, which were just a symptom, not the cause. A few days later I brought my Mercedes here to get the oil changed. I felt more confident in their abilities than some other places. Not to mention they even did a general check of the car, which included a text message to a report that showed me pictures of the condition of my tires along with other information about my car's fluids, etc. Overall, I'm very happy with the friendliness of this location, plus I feel I can trust that they're doing only the work that's needed, and that they're doing it well. read more

These guys are super awesome here and extremely well-mannered! Everyone person in here is super courteous and respectful. Yesterday, I took one of my vehicles in for an inspection and it was done in a timely matter. Paid what I needed to and left. I brought my second vehicle in today for another inspection. It was done free of charge and driven back to my work since I'm just next door. Superb service. They paid it forward and even though it was only $25 for the inspection, that was a great show of generosity. I forgot the gentleman's name in the blue polo working the front desk today. Corvette would not crank...low battery. Christain Brothers charged $400+ to put a battery in a Corvette, even though the existing battery was only a year old...did not say if they even tried to resuscitate the existing battery. ok...cranked over and would not start. They said it needed a new fuel pump and wanted about $1900. Gulp! It was towed to an independent shop that does not even work on Corvettes. $465.50 later, cars starts and runs just fine...OE Fuel pump and seals and labor, plus tax....saved about $1500 from what CHRISTIAN Brothers said was needed. uh....not the first I have heard of their pricing being exorbitant. read more

I'm giving this location 3 stars they would have received 5 stars but they didn't fix my issue. I put my Nissan in for a service as the service engine light come on. I knew I had to get few things looked at so no surprise that they informed us to change a few belts and new brakes we started at $600 and ended at $1600 . I'm not complaining on the price but they wanted a further $300 for the last piece which was recommend but not required. I told them to Hold till next time but when I got the car back the light is still on !!! They were very good at keeping us appraised of the situation but not fixing the issue I wanted done left me very disappointed . It as if they left the service light on to get us back for the remainder of the work. They did call and asked how things went and were surprised when I informed them my disappointment with service engine light! read more

1st Class Service!!! My diesel truck needed an oil change, which isn't cheap, so I called around to 6 local automotive shops in the area for pricing. Christian brothers were the 2nd cheapest, but I didn't trust the cheaper option. I took my truck in that afternoon and was given a 45 min. wait time, which turned out to be very accurate. During my wait in the lobby, I watched an older couple and also another lady both be given their keys back and told there would be no charge for the services - instead they were given advice on what needed to be done, or that everything looked good. Really love this place. It is the only automotive repair shop where I've ever felt completely at ease. Before I started taking my car here, I was always unsure whether or not the mechanics were trying to sell me services that I didn't need or doing quality repairs. In the past, I wouldn't bring my car for repairs without bringing along a guy who knew something about cars to make sure I wasn't being taken advantage of. But with CBA, I feel respected and confident that I am receiving service from trustworthy expert mechanics who have integrity. Also, there's a peaceful, super courteous, no pressure atmosphere that is very different from the chaotic vibe at other places. It's quite the contrast. I've used CBA several times, for both my car and my wife's car, both in the shop and the car pickup service, which was really cool. Everybody there is always very friendly, you get free water, and they play Christian music in the waiting area. But our latest experience disappointed me. They gave us a sheet of recommended 100k-mile maintenance that I discovered with web research was wildly price-inflated for parts, 3 to 4 times too much. To their credit, Blair the owner has reached out to me to apologize, which I appreciate. He said the quotes were erroneous and implied someone had been fired over it. I'm still waiting on updated quotes; when I get those I will likely update this post with more stars because their service is typically very good, although I do believe even their non-erroneous prices are still on the high end. read more

I came to this location based a good experience I had in Dallas and I must say that their upstanding business practices are consistent throughout their locations. Let me start by saying that I thought this visit was going to end in disaster. I called ahead to see if I could schedule an appointment and unfortunately they informed me that State Inspections could not be scheduled. No biggie. They recommended coming after lunch when they usually have less customers. When I got to there, they got slammed with several customers so I ended up leaving without service. I wasn't in a rush so I decided to return the next day. I called ahead again the next day and they recommended coming later in the afternoon. I got there around 4:30PM and I'm told that they were booked for the day so I'd have to return the next day. At this point, I decide I'm probably done with Christian Brothers but he suddenly offers to squeeze me in! I'm really thankful but still not sure about my whole experience. The lobby is nice, cool and comfortable with snacks and coffee available. Before I even have time to enjoy it, my car is ready to go! Have never had a pleasant CLEAN, Christian experience at an auto repair business. The business is well known for ripping people off so it is comforting to find a business that has good Christian values. I guess this is one time when I can say "THE NAME SAYS IT ALL"!!!!! Of course a couple of the customers were having awkward conversations about "rednecks" that was peculiar right before they told me my car was finished but other than that I can honestly say I enjoyed the time spent waiting on my oil change and will most definitely be returning.
