It was easy to find ample parking spots, and upon arrival, it was exquisite and not a place for improper attire. I went to this eatery as a group, and everyone was quite pleased with their meals. Was wonderful! Had the escargot and the tuna tartare as an appetizer for entrees I had lamb and my husband has the seafood thermidor. We were stuffed and should have stopped there but shared dessert also. All the food was delicious and well prepared, the service was outstanding and the restaurant had good ambience. I wish that my first visit to this place was better. We visited for a birthday dinner and we were completely dissatisfied. We had a party of 10, so I guess since our party was big that slacking on the service and the food quality would be subpar, since they would get paid regardless of the service we received. Initially we had to practically beg for bread. After 20 minutes we finally received bread. When we finally received our meal, we were dissatisfied again. Everyone's food was not hot at all. I just don't understand how I can spend almost $800 on 4 people and get subpar service. I mentioned this to the manager and nothing was done. I will not be back to this place. I went here for a birthday party. This was my first experience with this restaurant. Staff was very nice, our waitress was amazing. We started our dinner with this amazing bread that was crusty on the outside and soft inside. They bring you butter and something like a garlic oil to dip your bread in. It's delicious. I got a alcoholic beverage, the pear-a-dise. It's was delicious and had a good amount of alcohol. There was a pear in the drink that tasted like it had been soaked in alcohol. It was delicious. For appetizers we got the calamari. Ive never had calamari that was fried. So it was good but the texture kind of threw me off. I def like it fried vs how it was prepared here. For the entree I got the scallops and risotto. It came with like a little vegetable medley on the side. I got three huge scallops that sat on top of the risotto. They were perfectly cooked. Risotto was was too had a good flavor. The veggies were tasty, the carrot was really good. Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake. It was a nice size piece. But enough to share after the meal. Best French restaurant in Macon. They use the best part of the crab for the Crab&Avocado Special- avocado really brings out all the flavor from the crab. The Surf & Turf is very good: the lobster is extremely well prepared and the beef is tender and tasty. The Profiterole (it's a desert, not heart medicine) is a must-have, with ice cream inside and delicious chocolate source on top. Mark (manager) is super friendly too. The food was good we ordered the seafood risotto which was the "today's special" and the lamb. For the appetizer we ordered the escargot which was also very delicious. For the dessert we got the key lime pie and the creme brûlée. Best part of the night. The ambiance was beautiful the service was good also however it did take long for all of our dishes to be served. Total experience was 2.5 hours from ordering drinks and getting our dessert and check. Make sure you are planning plenty of time when going there. read more

I reserved a table for 2 a little over a week out. When my wife and I arrived, we were both appalled by the seating arrangement. They sat us in a hallway immediately next to the kitchen door. Between the loud squeaking door and the clashing of pans, we couldn't even converse. I asked if there was another seat available and the wait staff told me that the other seats were "being held". We decided to stay and see what the food was like before leaving. We ordered a lobster bisque and tuna tartare for appetizers. The tuna tartare was revolting. It was as if they stuck a thawed tuna and a mango in a blender and covered it with "Asian" ketchup. The lobster bisque was okay, but overly oily and lacked lobster. We had a crab cake which was cold in the center making me believe it was possibly frozen My fiancé threw up after her meal, a shrimp pasta dish which was offensive in both taste and technique. Looked closer to a yellow curry than what she ordered and the shrimp was rubber in consistency I had the New York strip which had well over an inch of fat on the side. I ordered medium and got rare. The sides were oily vegetables that Waffle House could have cooked better and a cold probably frozen potato side. The service was slow and mediocre at best. My husband and I were so excited when we found a new French fine dining restaurant in Macon. We decided to take a chance on Christian's for dinner. I wish I could give a better review, but there were a number of things that made for an unsatisfactory meal and an unsatisfactory dining experience. Appetizer: -I ordered the gazpacho which was great until I found a half-torn produce label in my bowl. I told the waitress. She gave a half-hearted apology, laughed and brushed it off and said "it was good though right?" I even watched her show the bowl with the label to the chef and someone who seemed to be the manager. Now, for a fine dining restaurant, you would expect a situation like this to be handled appropriately...No one came to our table. No sincere apology was given, and we were still charged full price for the appetizer. Main courses: -The mains were fine, not great. We've had better from comparable restaurants in the area. The one baby carrot was the best part of the dish. Dessert: -We were excited to try the lavender creme brûlée. The flavor was excellent. However, there was not enough of the custard, and the texture was that of a slightly gritty paste. Shame as the lavender flavor was fantastic. Overall impression: Unfortunately, Christian's does not deliver the dining experience or the quality of food that they would like. If you are looking for fine dinning at it's best in Macon Ga, you will regret not coming here. It's very pricey but worth the cost. The restaurant is elegant but very small. The waiter we had was wonderful and very friendly. I took the family here for my wife's birthday and they made it memorable. There isn't a kids menu here but they were able to make something for my 8year old daughter that she enjoyed. The food and service was extremely good. The free bread that they served was so good, I would come back just for it. This was our first time coming here but we will differently be back after I save some money lol. read more

So far, one of the best dine-in places I've been to in Georgia. Technically, I would give this place a 4.5 star, but I rounded it up to a 5. I started off with a French 16, which I thought was delightful. Honestly, if you have anything with lavender, I'm in heaven. I also had the Georgia mule, which I thought was way too sweet for my taste. However, I do not like sweet drinks, and it was good...just too sweet and more dessert-like. We had the escargot and it was some of the best we've had--the garlic butter sauce is to die for. My significant other had the tuna tartare (I did not try since I do not like it), and he thoroughly enjoyed it and found the amount to be great for the price. We both shared the charcuterie platter with amazing meats, but do wish there were some cheeses to balance out the salty taste. For my entree, I ordered an entrecote bearnaise done medium. It's a pet peeve of mine when restaurants cook my steak more well than I asked, and I'm so grateful that Christian's cooked it perfectly. The steak was beautifully seasoned and well-balanced with the bearnaise sauce. Lastly, for dessert, I had the creme brulee. Which, I ate quickly and forgot to take a picture! It was a lot of creme brulee (deep dish!) and made with pure vanilla bean. Overall, the food was excellent for its price and I could tell it was premium food since it was fresh and tasty. read more

Amazing birthday dinner. Our table had the scallops, salmon wrapped in puff pastry, grilled romaine salad, escargot, and calamari. My least favorite was the salad, and I'd probably order the caprese next time as it was a huge portion and looked delicious. The lavender creme brûlée was amazing (I noticed another review said their dish was gritty, but ours was smooth and perfect) as was the key lime pie. Our waitress was really sweet, and the service was attentive. I loved that the inside was decorated nicely without being stuffy, and the wait staff wasn't pretentious. We just ate at Christian's and are so pleased with the entire experience! We were warmly greeted and seated at a great table in this beautiful and cozy space. I had crab meat in avacado with aoli with watermelon as an appetizer and it was quite a great taste! The lobster ravioli was tasty and the escargot in garlic butter was great! I tasted everything! For entrees, there were 2 ducks In cherry sauce that were moist and delicious and one sea bass, cooked to perfection. We really did not need dessert but we shared chocolate mousse in a chocolate bowl and lemon sobet with limoncello. It was a fantastic evening of great food, service, and fun. Chose Christian's for my birthday dinner this year. What a divine experience! Pam greeted us with warmth and sincerity and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere was somehow crisp and intimate. Our server recommended a French martini which was new to me, but delicious! Perfectly chilled. Chilean sea bass was a special and the best piece of fish I've ever had. For dessert we shared the chocolate ganache cake, which is a must! Imported French chocolate, delicious macaron crust with a creamy texture. They have a formally pastry chef and it is evident ! This is the best new restaurant to open in Macon in awhile. Good cocktails, good service, and the food has been exceptional. I've had the escargot, caprese salad, scallops, and duck, and they've all been delicious. Just about the only place in town that reliably has duck and lamb on the menu. This is an interesting place and the reviews on here seem to be skewed to the high side. "Best in Georgia", says one review? This is not even a top 10 best restaurant in Macon, let alone the entire state. I gave it 2*, gave 1* for the ambiance inside. Nice looking establishment. The service was OK. For the prices you pay, no where near 5* or as good as other high end restaurants in town (Dove Tail, Olivers, etc). The food was good,but not great, and the portion sizes for the price you pay is way off. Prepare to purchase several courses if you want to leave feeling full. The charcuterie board is ridiculous, just a few slices of meat on a board for $19. No cheese, crackers, bread, nuts, etc. if this is their take on charcuterie than so be it, but they should explain this on the menu. The staff agreed that it was skimpy, but only after we ordered. Even agreeing it should have more items. An attentive staff would have let us know during the order. Drinks were also OK. For the price of a drink no where near top notch or the $12-$15 price for these "special" drinks. Stick with wine, its hard to mess that up and their wine selection was good. Their soup was also very good, although the small amount you get leaves you wanting more. If you want an experience that leaves your wallet a lot lighter and your stomach grumbling for more food this is your place.
