Whoa, Petit Chou on a Sunday morning is busy and full of energy, which honestly adds to the charm. We were lucky enough to grab a seat at the bar, and it turned out to be the perfect spot to enjoy the experience without waiting too long. The bar seat was great to see all of the rushing but feel out of the way while people were coming and going. The Cabbagetown Bowl was incredible. The combination of flavors worked so well together, and the salad was a standout on its own thanks to the amazing dressing. The egg on top brought everything together perfectly and made the dish feel complete and a nice breakfast staple. Service was friendly and attentive even with the crowd, and the atmosphere had that cozy neighborhood feel that makes you want to linger a little longer, but you shouldn't because people need to eat, too. If you're looking for a great brunch spot with fresh, flavorful food, Petit Chou should be on your list. I'll definitely be back.

This dish was delicious!!! Definitely will come back for it. The server was super nice and helped me decide on it. We were in the patio and it was perfect

We had brunch around 11am on a Sunday morning. The inside was fully packed, but there were a couple outdoor seating options. We sat on the side with the picnic tables. They were super cool with having our dog on the patio with us. They even brought her a bowl of ice water which was sweet. I ordered the avocado toast and my husband had the basic breakfast. I was underwhelmed with the avocado test but my husband enjoyed his. It's a great neighborhood spot, but I'm not in rush to go back.

Petit Chou - Cabbagetown's Charming Little Curveball Tucked along the historic edges of Cabbagetown where bungalow homes meet Memorial Drive traffic sits Petit Chou, a quirky, refreshingly unpretentious brunch spot with an old-school spirit and a new-school flavor game. Ambiance: Vintage Vibes with a Dash of Atlanta Grit You walk up to what looks like a coastal cottage someone plucked off Tybee Island and set along Memorial Drive. The exterior still carries traces of its past life as Cole's, the old neighborhood store and grill that served burgers and Cokes to moviegoers from across the street. You can feel that history woven into the walls with a playful, updated twist. Inside has rustic bar seating, a strong lineup of hot sauces ready for action, and the cozy, slightly organized chaos of a real neighborhood spot. Their philosophy of "nothing random" holds true. The space encourages conversations at the bar, coffee-fueled people watching by the window, and maybe overhearing someone's brunch-date drama. Service: Laid Back but Dialed In Staff floated between friendly and efficient with no corporate energy, just genuine service that feels easy. They aren't forcing smiles or rushing anyone out the door. Drinks came quick, refills were easy, and they actually remember faces, no loyalty app required. Food and Drinks: Fresh, Intentional, and That Bloody Mary? A Plot Twist The Bloody Mary shows up dressed better than half the brunch crowd with a lime, lemon, and bold attitude. Spicy, tangy, and garden-fresh, it has a tomato kick that doesn't drown your taste buds in salt. Bonus points for the straw wrapped so tight you'd think Houdini himself sealed it. The menu keeps it simple but quality-focused. Avocado toast with boursin and arugula hits the spot. The Cabbagetown Breakfast Bowl piles on the protein with Tillamook cheddar and roasted veggies so you feel fueled but not stuffed. No microwave, no deep fryer, no walk-in freezer. Everything is freshly prepped and it shows. Funny Moment Worth Sharing The Bloody Mary almost had me fighting the lime garnish. My lips were already tingling from a Caesar salad allergy scare earlier so between the citrus and the spice, the drink kept me humble. Take small sips, laugh it off, and power through. Final Thoughts We stopped in for breakfast but we'll be back to see how they flip the vibe for dinner. Petit Chou delivers that locals-only energy while keeping it welcoming. Fresh food, laid-back service, neighborhood charm, and enough character to make you want to stay a little longer. A hidden gem with history, good flavors, and plenty of charm to spare.

The French toast was good. The waiter not so much. Service was horrible for our waiter. I ordered biscuits and gravy and by the time my boyfriend was done with his food about 10 minutes after I got my food. He offered to give me a pastry which I took but didn't finish it and he charged me for a sausage Pattie I didn't want. The waiter isn't detail oriented at all. And he still charged me for my food. Didn't even offer to comp my food. My coffee was even messed up. The area is crowded but cute. The food wasn't bad at all.

What a quaint little place. Great wood bar indoor and outdoor seating. Who would have thought a vegetarian French onion soup would be so flavorful?!? Biscuits and gravy were on point! Our server was such a delight and very kind!!!

We had a delicious meal at petit Chou for brunch! There was a little wait when we got there, but we expected it. We were sat in the outdoors area which was nice. I ended up sitting on the side with my friend, because the sun was beaming on the other side. We got a water jug with no cups initially. We asked for cups a few times, which was a little torturous because it was pretty hot and we were just looking at the water jug lol. They finally brought out cups after we received our food. The food was amazing. I got the breakfast bowl. It was really good! I'm used to those bowls being pretty heavy on the potatoes and cheese, but this one was nicely balanced with the greens, tomatoes, and eggs. It was SO good! My friend got the French toast which was insane. Literally finger licking. I ate half of her plate (lol). The server was very nice and the food and service after the water ordeal made up for the experience. I would recommend this place if you're looking for some great food!

It's Labor Day, I wanted a late brunch and wasn't sure I would have luck with a short or no wait. I did a quick search and based on my likes and tastes I chose Petit Chou. I was not disappointed at all. I was quickly seated and was able to choose the table I wanted. They have indoor and outdoor (covered and not) seating. Plus a bar with comfy barstools. They have brunch daily til 3pm!! I ordered the Golden Latte with oatmilk, Breakfast Bowl with grits, eggs, greens, tomatoes and veggie sausage. I had a single waffle with fruit and sweet maple syrup, and a side of potatoes (yes, I was hungry lol). I am now obsessed with this place and it will be my go-to breakfast spot. The service was spot on, attentive and easy. The food was so tasty and great options. Oh and the Latte - perfection! A must try if you are near or in the area!

Next up on my search for the best breakfast in Atlanta is Petit Chou, and it sure did make a great impression. I'm not the biggest fan of French Cuisine, and now in hindsight I which I would've ordered something French, but I will next time. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, it was very hearty and filling just like I like them to be, the gravy was perfect although I wish it had a little kick to it. The scrambled egg were solid and the espresso was very bright and refreshing. I will without a doubt be back for breakfast here. You're welcome!

Friendly staff, fresh food, charming interior with a continued commitment to diversity, with specificity to Black lives mattering, even when it's no longer trendy. No notes. As a new neighbor, I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit.

Visit Date: Nov. 4, 2024 For my penultimate stay in Cabbagetown, I decided to give Petit Chou a try. I wanted to try a omething a little more from the left field. And I figured French cuisine would be just that! I don't often find myself going out of the way for French food as they're typically pricey. But the offerings from Petit Chou seemed reasonable. The restaurant seemed cute, warm, and friendly. Offering places to seat at some tables, the bar, or even the patio. Wait staff seemed friendly as well. Although, the only gripe I had, and the reason for 4/5 stars, was the excessive wait time to get my food. It took 35 minutes from placing the order and receiving it. Granted, this could be due to only having 1 cook in the kitchen, this is my assumption as I went for a late lunch, about 1.5 hours they closed for the day. Now onto the food! If we're going for French, it only makes sense to order some classic French dishes. I got myself the French onion soup and a Croque Madame. I was delighted by my choices and I quickly forgot about the wait once I had a bite of each! The soup was hot, rich of flavor, and had the right amount of sweetness from the caramelized onions. It was everything you expect out of a French onion soup. However, I do wish there were more than 2 pieces of bread within it. A small detail. As for the croque Madame, I was pleasantly surprised. This breakfast sandwich is a go-to of mine from my local cafe back home. But this example takes it to another level. The use of their gain toast with Dijon, Boursin, and a hearty amount of Gruyère, all blended into a very savory and mouth watering bite. The ham was also flavorful, not plain, not dull, unlike some other ham sandwiches I've had in the past. Overall, my experience at Petit Chou was a great one. You just have to be a little patient! I would definitely recommend a friend to go give this place a try! - John C.

So delicious!! We stopped in for brunch after many months of planning to eventually try this place... and so glad we finally did! The French toast was decadent but not overly sweet. The layers of bread are light and moist. I'm not usually a sweet breakfast entree person, but this was a win. I was only able to get through a third of it though. The hubs had the croque madame on gluten free bread; also super tasty and a good portion size with a side salad. The coffee/cappuccino offerings are standard, and good - priced a bit on the high side. It's a small space with about 10 tables and bar seating, so I think the wait can get long. We were there on the earlier side and only had to wait about 20 min (15 for the bar seats). Parking is also a bit tight. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall a nice brunch spot. Looking forward to revisiting for dinner as well!

When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

The menu names were definitely on brand, but not quite catchy enough for me to remember them later. Both were solid, though, and hit the spot. Service was a highlight. The cashier really leaned into the accent and took the time to thoroughly explain the menu, which made the whole experience feel more immersive and welcoming. Parking was easy on an early weekday afternoon -- always a win. The space works well for small parties, but be prepared: tables are small and seating is close together. One tip: avoid sitting upstairs in Eden. It's noticeably warmer than the rest of the restaurant, and you'll likely leave smelling like breakfast. Overall, a fun, themed spot with great service. One thing I really loved was the photo booth outside in the parking garage--it was such a fun touch and made the visit even more memorable. The only downside was the parking. SUPER unimpressed with my visit here…read more Based on the decor, especially the photo area in the parking deck and the fake flower arch outside, my first impression was that this was going to be a "TikTok trap": a restaurant focused more on aesthetics than food or service. Unfortunately, that impression ended up being accurate. It took forever for our food to come out. The parties around us were clearly frustrated as well. I watched one table become visibly irritated, while another guest stopped a server to ask if the food being carried out was theirs because they had apparently been waiting over an hour. As the wait dragged on, I started paying closer attention to the decor, which I personally found tacky and gimmicky, especially the fake greenery hanging across the ceiling. The fried green tomatoes and sweet heat wings were really good, and I started to rethink my initial assessment of the restaurant. Everything went downhill from there. My "Rich Boy" sandwich itself was good, but it came with completely unseasoned fries. When I mentioned that I was supposed to have the "Rolex" fries, the server told me the plain fries were what I got. After clarifying with another server, they brought out the actual "Rolex" fries, which appeared to just be fries with a little parmesan and parsley on top. Supposedly they were truffle fries, but there wasn't even a hint of truffle flavor. My partner ordered the veggie sausage, which was overcooked and dry. Their eggs came out over easy instead of over medium, and the "signature grits" were more like cream cheese with a little bit of grits mixed in. We were told more grits would be brought out, but they never came. Another person in my party ordered the Southern seafood pasta, which had literally one piece of spinach in it. When she asked about it, the server responded that there was "more spinach coming." At that point, it became clear that Barney's is selling the illusion of luxury in order to justify premium prices for subpar food and service. It really was a TikTok trap after all. To make matters worse, when the check came, we were charged an additional $1.50 for eggs that already came with the meal. The explanation was that the eggs "came from the shell." Others in my party were also charged extra for liquor on top of the listed menu price for their drinks. Overall, I absolutely did not enjoy my experience here, and I will not be returning. Oh, and that other party that was visibly irritated with the wait had to wait even longer because there was a hair in their food.
