The new owner of the salon- (Desiree) is a hair genie. I've been going to her since 2013 and my hair has grown SO much. I honestly have followed her from her first salon on Flatbush for years. Unfortunately I am currently experiencing terrible hair loss and my edges are very weak- but that's because I made a mistake and went to another salon on Flatbush to get a perm (Desiree happened to be closed at the time I went).. I am currently beating myself up for this decision. I am very confident that my hair will grow back- I have invested in many organic oils/ treatments & will ONLY continue to go to Desiree. Side note: ** I started going to her when I lived in Brooklyn, I have since moved to Queens and still hop in the car and take the 30 min ride out to Brooklyn .... Concluding thought: Ladies, SHE is the best. I am writing this review because people need to experience this to understand it. read more

Ever since Desiree took it over I've been coming here. She was working at another salon and she left and lost contact. I randomly went inside here, because my mother told me to got to someone she knows is good here and I saw Desiree right in the shop. My hair was bad and broken and she bought it back to life. read more

Can't do it and won't do it again. This salon has the ambiance of a funeral home except a funeral home has a professional staff and courtesy (or should). Everytime I walk into this (Empty) place there are two surly looking women who look pissed off they actually have a customer walk in. They never smile or greet you, just ask you what you want and point you to a chair like you're a child. Their main concern is yapping, eating and doing each others hair. I dont know how this place stays open as it is usually empty and these "stylists" clearly hate their customers. Maybe it's because of the cheap prices people come but cheap or not I am not that desperate.....ANYMORE. Lesson learned. Today I decided to treat myself and get my hair done. Per course I was barely greeted and directed to a chair in which the witch began to rake her claws through my scalp. I do not know if she needs a manicure or what but her nails were ragged! She asks if I want a deep condition so I say yes. She then slaps some crap in my hair then sets me under BROIL for about 20 minutes under the hair dryer. I was squirming wondering if it is usually that hot but I endure. After she washes the conditioner out after roughly combing/ripping through my thick hair she proceeds to then rake a padded brush through my thick, wet hair. Again, I have thick hair so I am used to this heavy handedness but it was like she was taking out all her past aggressions on my head. While this is going on her and her fellow witch and some male friend are loudly conversating in Spanish in my ear. After she puts the rollers in she again sits me to Boil under a super hot dryer for an hour. I already had it in my head to never return and just wanted this ordeal over.. She rudely directs me to a chair once my hair is dried to a crisp and asks what I want. When I tell her I want my hair blown out you wouldve thought I asked to borrow some money I have never done anything to this woman and I'm always polite and usually ignore their nastiness and lack of professionalism but today was the worst. I was so glad when she was finished and walked away without a goodbye as I went straight to the counter and I paid and left in a hurry. Typically I tip and I tip fairly well, (even THEN they have never smiled or seemed to care) and vowed to never return to this place again. You want cheap you will get cheap here but there are too many other options in this area, read more

This is all they deserve...or 1 1/2 stars due to the prices, their customer service isn't bad but idk if it's because my native tongue is Spanish as well. So we communicate fine and they are not never rude, idk if I can fully agree with the other young lady's review but I can understand her frustrations. read more

I do not recommend this salon to my worst enemy, they are even worse than Maribel's on Flatbush!...I usually do my own hair and people insist that it was done at a salon. On this occasion I just didn't have time to do it myself and needed salon intervention. Not only was my hair dry and lifeless, but so were the rest of the customers! I was looking around at other customer's hair after it was done for hope in just having my own bad hair moment. Overall, the customer service was horrible and I think they use cheap products while the store window is dressed up with the good stuff. The stylist who did my hair, was sloppy and failed to attend to me through out my duration under the hottest hair drier. She did not wash me well, did not take her time with snarls while wet combing, and attempted to use a bristled brush to wrap my hair up. I had to stop her before she did more damage! After the horrible experience, I left--no tip--no goodbye; no see you next time--UGH, never again! The only good thing about this salon is that it's conveniently located in the heart of Flatbush, however, I am willing to travel across the country to avoid ever going to this salon again. From now on I'm sticking to my "at home" salon. I only give Christina's Unisex salon one star because it is required in order to submit the review. I would love to find an excellent salon in this area that meets my needs and I'm able to pop in on when I'm not in the mood to do my own hair. read more
