If this office charged themselves a late fee for running behind, they would probably go out of business. I have been coming here for two years, and they are never on time. Every visit it is the same: check in, sit down, and get told "just a few more minutes." It is never just a few minutes, and no one can ever give an accurate wait time. Meanwhile, they have no problem charging patients a late fee if you are behind. The front desk also seems completely unsure about insurance and pricing. Simple questions turn into hesitation, checking with multiple people, and inconsistent answers. It does not inspire much confidence when they do not even seem to know what things cost. Last year they ordered contacts for me and told me to come back in a week. When I called to check, they had completely forgotten to order them. No apology, just more waiting. After two years, this is clearly just how they operate. Always late, poor communication, and disorganized. If you value your time or expect basic competence, this probably is not the place. The only good thing about this place is Dr.Huang, who is a skilled optometrist. read more

First time at this location. Eye exam was great, experience with the office manager while going over my insurance was terrible. The office manager kept arguing with me regarding my insurance instead of telling me I needed to talk to my insurance. After talking with my insurance then talking with the office staff I was supposed to receive a call from the office manager regarding the resolution. Office manager never called me back regarding the situation. When I called a week later she said it was resolved but had never called me back to fallow up as I was told she would. She then told me to talk to my insurance again as I was extremely frustrated at this point. I told her I did talk with my insurance then I spoke to the office staff and the manager was supposed to call me back regarding the situation and she never called me back. Once she said "I Feel" I immediately ended the conversation as I was going by facts on how my insurance was previously. She then told me that I needed to talk with my insurance again. (If I had received a callback from the manager explaining to me that they spoke with my insurance company again after she spoke to her office staff and I needed to call my insurance company again, I would have not been so upset) I was supposed to receive an itemized receipt telling me what I purchased but never received it. I had to request that that again later. When I received the itemized receipt I noticed only ordered 6 months worth of contacts when i requested 12 months of contacts. I ended up canceling my order and went elsewhere to purchase my contacts. I had also requested a call back from the manager letting me know the order was canceled. Instead I only received an email. I was a manager at a company for 6 years before stepping down and no matter how difficult the situation was or the customer was I always called them back even when I cringed at the thought. I know I was difficult and one of "those" customers but I at least deserved a call back when the office staff said I would be receiving a call back! read more

Clean and efficient facility. All scans are completed in one room, followed by a consultation with the doctor. The staff encourages you to browse frames while you wait without being pushy, and they clearly explain which frames are covered by insurance while remaining available to answer questions. Parking in the lot can be challenging, but I appreciate being able to complete a comprehensive eye exam and browse frames all in one place. read more

Updated review after my appointment: Adding 2 stars. They did get me through the appointment quickly once they checked me in; also told me that the reason why the door opened late due to unusual traffic. They apologized multiple times for the wait. It's my first time seeing Dr. Khayat (I used to see Dr. Huang); he was friendly and knowledgeable. I told him that I had to leave at 10am for my meeting; he got me through quickly but still being very detailed explaining my information. Linda helped me with ordering and closing. She's very nice and patience; she made sure that I have all the documents I needed and also offered to file the rebate for me. Keeping that last star off because I think they should have done it better for this incident. While I was waiting at the front door in the sun for 18min, I did see some employees waiting at the back door trying to get in. They should have came to me explaining the situation because I know they saw me from the other side. The reason why I didn't leave was to make sure I don't get charge for "late or no show". I was able to leave at 10am sharp and made it on time for my meeting. I'll continue coming back here, but perhaps next time I'll choose a later time just to be safe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This was written on 8/20/24 at 9:18am w/ 2-star: They have strict policy that they charge us for late or no show. If you can't make it to open the door at 9am, don't accept 9am schedules please. I hope they can finish my appointment soon because I have to leave at 10am to attend a meeting at work. The reviews here are accurate. The office repeatedly texted me to emphasize their cancellation policy, which charges patients a fee if they cancel within 24 hours. However, on the day of my appointment (2 hours before), they cancelled on me because the doctor left early for day due to an "emergency". I politely asked if they could offer a small credit since the cancellation was last minute, similar to the $50 fee they would charge patients for cancelling. The manager seemed offended and asked how I came up with the $50 amount. I explained it was the same fee they would have charged me. She then said they could not provide a credit because I have insurance, although I still have to pay a cover/ remaining balance. The double standard was disappointing... read more

A friend recommended this shop to me for a pair of glasses, but the service has been absolutely terrible. They told me to come back in two weeks to pick them up. When I arrived, they informed me that the glasses had indeed arrived, but since they hadn't yet opened the package to inspect them, they couldn't hand them over to me. They told me to go home and that they would text me once everything was ready. I've been waiting--today marks the fourth day--and I still haven't received a single text telling me to come pick them up. So, I decided to call them today. A woman answered the phone but claimed she couldn't hear anything I was saying and told me to call back. I immediately hung up and called right back, but this time, no one answered at all. I had an amazing experience at this optometry office. This was my first time here, and Alaiza was my technician. She was extremely helpful at walking me through all the steps as well as helping me pick out some really cute frames. Dr. Huang was the doctor I seen today. She explained everything to me about my eyes, as well as showed me photos of what they look like (internally). I've been wearing eye glasses since I was eight years old and I've never had such a great experience at an optometrist office the way I did today. The staff is very welcoming when you walk in. This office is very clean and organized. They also have a lot of cute eyeglasses from multiple brands, including sunglasses. Overall, I had a 10 out of 10 experience and I recommend coming here! The doctors at this office are fine (not the most personable, but get the job done), but the front desk people will drive you insane. Coming here is not worth the mental stress. I've been with this practice for 3 years and every year something different goes wrong. The first year I purchased reading glasses as well as got my normal glasses lenses updated. They say they'll send a text notification when they're ready to be picked up. After a month, I only received a text for the reading glasses after checking in with them multiple times. When I went in to pick them up, I had them check on my normal glasses and it turns out that they had just completely forgotten to send a pickup notification and they found my other glasses in their storage. The second year, the doctor tried to get me to purchase the premium version of my contacts but I wanted to stay on my current contacts. She told me to try the premium for a day, but I knew that I wanted the normal version. I told the front desk lady to order a year supply in my normal contacts. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor had already written my Rx for the premium version and that's what the front desk lady ordered. When my order inevitably arrived incorrect, I called the office and they told me that it was my fault because the front desk can't change the doctor's Rx. How would I know though? They don't email your Rx information to you until you request it and their customer portal doesn't work. As a customer, you rely on the doctor and front desk having good communication for a good experience. Then, I had to wait another week to get the correct contacts and because of an invoicing issue, I couldn't get my rebate for the year. Every time I called the office to ask about this issue, they said that it would be fixed and it wasn't. After my third or fourth time calling back frustrated that the issue wasn't fixed, I received a lot of attitude from the front desk and the issue was never resolved, costing me hundreds of dollars. You might ask why I went back after the previous year's experience. I meant to switch offices this third year but the timing didn't work out. This time, the front desk lady kept calculating the incorrect numbers for my insurance and kept pressuring me to purchase contacts from the office (1-800-CONTACTS is cheaper). At this point, I was really done and I made an appointment with a different office this year. You would think that's the end of it, right? Somehow, they made an appointment for me without my knowledge or consent. I got a text saying that I have an appointment for Friday at 2pm and to confirm or reply STOP. I responded STOP but then a few days later, they texted me from a different number reminding me about my appointment and saying there's a cancellation fee. I texted back telling them to cancel my appointment and called them but the phone would automatically hang-up during their pre-recorded message. Finally, when they called me back, the person told me that I did not have an appointment and I should just respond STOP. I clearly somehow did have an appointment and had replied STOP and yet somehow, the communication persisted. Again, it's just not worth the toll on my mind and time. I never write negative reviews, but my experience with this place has been nothing short of frustrating every year I have to interact with them. read more

I had a great experience at their Santa Clara location. They were running a bit behind schedule (which is expected in medical/dental/optometry offices) but one of their staff members apologized and assured me they would get me in quickly. Dr. I is very knowledgeable and provides a thorough assessment of the eye exam results. She takes the time to explain any concerns that she sees with your eye vision in general. When it was time to pick out some frames, Kiara (from their Orange County office) was SUPER helpful! I wanted some designer frames and she knew exactly what I was looking for. She picked out frames that she believed would go with the shape of my face. She was instrumental in helping me narrow down what frame to go with (they have so many designer options and they ALL look good so that makes it SUPER hard to pick out a frame). Thos optometrist put a wrong prescription, and resent the frame with corrected prescription. In 3 weeks, it turned out this optometrist put a wrong prescription again. Then sent it back to the lab. In the 3rd trial, this optometrist put a scratch in the lens and the lens was wrong again. Owner called me she wants 4th trial which was ridicuouls. 5 stars for the physician, but that's the most I can say for this place. The customer service is slow, they forgot to place my order the first time around (for non prescription sunglasses) and keep extending it, the latest story is that the FedEx has stated my sunglasses were "delivered", but couldn't find it when I went into the store, and from the beginning it was off-they didn't email me my account so I could check my patient portal. There's just too many question marks and passed along to numerous people either on the phone and in-store. When I finally do get someone, it's the initial person who just looks lost all the time. Not sure how else to explain things, it's frustrating because there aren't any answers and my sunglasses that I bought along with my prescription eyeglasses are taking longer than expected. Overall, a good and clean place to go to for high end eyewear, but I only hope you get better customer service than I have because I've been nothing but annoyed at this place. I even tried to tell them to cancel my order for the sunglasses but because my insurance was already billed, I have no choice but to wait for sunglasses that nobody has answers to where the location is. I've been going to the same doctor for the last few years without any improvement, and in one visit she was able to prescribe exactly what I needed to see clearly and offered new solutions for severe dry eyes and astigmatism. She is professional and explains her diagnosis and treatments clearly. Her knowledge, passion and experience allowed me to have one of the best experiences I've ever had at an eye exam. I just recently moved to Dallas, TX and I am seriously MISSING THIS PLACE! The entire staff took care of me for the last 2 years I lived in Santa Clara. Norma, Jo Ann, & BOTH doctors are so amazing! They have ALWAYS accommodated me when I had a request for glasses. If they don't have them, they will find them and order them for you! They are genuinely kind people, they always greeted me so nicely and made me feel like family. Wasted my time. I had a 4:20 appointment for an annual vision check. I was told to be there ten min early and that if I missed my appointment they would charge me $50. Kind of weird for a first time customer but ok. I show up ten min early as instructed, fill out some info on a tablet and was told someone would be with me. Ten min later someone comes by and says they're just finishing up and will help me soon. 25 minutes later not a peep from anyone. No update no info and they seem preoccupied. Just walked out, should have charged them $50 for wasting my Friday afternoon. Spent a total of 37 minutes waiting from the time I got there. Not worth it for a simple eye exam. read more
