I was very impressed with my experience at this salon. It had been almost 10 months since my last haircut because I was not happy with the way the my last haircut turned out. I have very long hair, and find that many stylists tend to get scissor happy under the guise of cutting off split ends. I was greeted promptly by Sean, and stated that I was just looking for a consultation. After politely asking me to wait a few moments so he could finish up with another customer, he came over to ask what I was looking for. I showed him my photos and he said he had a few stylists that would be able to help me. After a moment, Elea came out and showed me to her chair. After a very thorough consultation, I asked how long it would take and how much it would cost. She had an opening and was able to take me right away, and quoted me a reasonable amount for a shampoo, cut and style. Elea was very informative, answered all of my questions and assured me that I was in good hands. She cut my hair and talked to me the entire time about what she was doing and why, and how it would effect my overall finished look. I was very appreciative of the time she took to make sure I was comfortable with what she was doing. Once the cut was complete, she walked me through the styling process so that I could emulate the process on my own. She was very patient and showed me several techniques as well as the different kinds of products she used to get different results. She didn't try to push any products on me, but just wanted me to know what she was doing. I was VERY happy with the end result and how Elea put me at ease to trust her with my hair. The salon was very clean, well decorated and had a unique layout. The music wasn't too overpowering, and the lighting was bright. I was hesitant to try out a new salon when I first moved down here because I was so comfortable with my old stylist (who is now very far away) but now that I've finally tried this place, I'm hooked! I've seen one of their newer stylists, Jamie, and she was amazing! I've been to her twice now for a pixie cut, which is by no means an easy task considering my hair is curly/wavy and prone to frizz. He is amazing, he immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable- he listened carefully to what I wanted and he delivered better results than I had imagined! I've been here several times and each time have had my hair cut by Jaclyn. (There is a Jackie and a Jaclyn - 2 different people!) The first time I came in, I asked for a stylist who had some creativity and would be able to work on my hair with limited input from me - I wanted something a bit new and didn't want to limit my possibilities by getting stuck in a rut. I have long hair that is curly, but I also wear it straight and wanted a cut that would work both ways. The receptionist recommended Jaclyn who was a total pro. She was very confident about what she wanted to do, and when I asked her how she was going texturize my hair, she suggested it exactly the way I wanted it done - by twisting and snipping - and there wasn't a razor to be seen. Many other hair-dressers I've been to have no idea what I've meant when I've said 'texturize'; Jaclyn got it straight away. After the consultation and wash, Jacyln cut my hair while it was wet to get a feel for the curl. She then proceeded to do something no other 'stylist' has done the whole 5 years I've been in the US - she blow-dried it, then straightened it with the flat iron so she could get the cut and the layers just perfect for when I also straighten my hair. Other hairdressers have cut shoddy layers in for my curls, which aren't always noticeable when I wear my hair curly, but when I straighten it, it looks like a 5 year old has hacked my hair...definitely not the case with Jaclyn! I honestly have never in my life been so happy with a haircut as I am each time Jaclyn has cut my hair - I don't know her from Adam and will probably never see her again cos I'm moving - so I really wanted to write this before I forgot. She works at both the salons, and I totally recommend going to her - she's very talented. read more

BEWARE!!! I went there yesterday with my daughter. Called ahead of time to inquire about the price on children's haircut. They quoted me $30 for a small trim and bangs. Ok, so I booked the appointment with Vanessa. She was nice. After the haircut, we went to the cashier to pay. Vanessa charged us $50 to take down 1/2 inch and bangs. Worse experience ever! I went to this salon as a first time client, so I showed the stylist a picture of the color I wanted. And lets just say that what I walked out with looked nothing like the picture. Actually my hair looked worse after getting it colored than it did before I got my hair done. A few years ago I began going to Christopher Perry in Tustin after I moved to southern CA. from NY and PA. I searched for a salon for color and cut and was disappointed many times. After I walked out of one salon with my hair almost purple when I wanted a copper red I stopped red headed women on the street and asked whom they go to. Three of the six I asked said Christopher Perry at Marketplace in Tustin. I went in first to see what they were turning out and was very pleased. The operators I watched were all professional and I could see that they wielded their scissors with care. Some people asked for certain styles and other told their operators to give them something new or just a trim. Each customer went out with a smile and looking great. The receptionist, Portia, knew I was just there to watch and decide and offered me water, coffee or tea even tough she didn't know how I'd decide. After I made my decision to try them out I asked Portia whom was the best for this 60 year old with thinning red hair. She said Misty was the best for me and I took her advice. I'm so glad I did. Misty is not only nice but she listens to my requests and also gives me advice which has always proven to be exactly what I need. She is caring and thoughtful and she also teaches new operators their craft. Right now she is teaching Daniel and he is fantastic. He has picked up so much from her and it shows. My color is perfect and the cut is what I ask for. I am a happy camper. They are always on time for your appointments. The bonus is that while they still ask if you want a beverage more importantly they listen to your wants and needs and are polite and make you feel welcome while they do it. I do recommend and have recommended Christopher Perry to anyone who wants to look great and have an enjoyable time getting there. read more

I had an appointment today for a blowout for my senior pictures. I told the receptionist I had a coupon for a $30 blowout upon arrival. Throughout the appointment, my hair stylist, Fanya, asked me questions like "when was the last time you got a haircut?" and "do you straighten your hair often?" all hinting that my hair was not up to par. Then, Fanya told me that the reason my blowout didn't look right, was because my hair was "so fried", so she offered to curl the ends to make it look better. When I went to pay, coupon in hand, I was told that my blowout would cost $55. I asked why and the receptionist told me that the curling, that Fanya bullied me in to, cost an extra $10. After talking to the receptionist about the situation, the blowout still cost me $45. Overall, I thought that Fanya was disrespectful and unprofessional the way she insulted me, to trick me into paying more. Despite my hair stylist's behavior, I did appreciate the receptionist's hospitality, but I did not expect to leave my blowout with a blow to my confidence. MONICA'S THE BEST!!!!!! I have been going to her for about 7 years. She does exactly what I ask, and I've had so many different hairstyles. From super short chin length bobs to long layers to the middle of my back. Very blond highlights to very dark, almost black hair. Blunt bangs, side bangs, etc... She makes every hairstyle look so good! The best part- the cuts look fantastic while growing out! I've tried other salons a couple times (I moved away then moved back) and every time I do, I regret it and I have to go right back to her to fix other hairstylist's color/cut mistakes. I haven't seen any other stylist in over 2 years. My cousin, sister, mom and friends have all been to see her and are now regular clients. And they all have beautiful hair. I leave her chair feeling fresh, new, and pretty. She's not cheap, but I'd gladly pay to have my hair done by someone I trust. One time, at another salon- this guy burned my scalp and made my hair fall out with whatever chemicals he used in the hair dye. Never strayed from Monica after that.
