I don't usually write negative reviews, but given the price of my service I felt it was important to share my experience. I came in today for a full set. First, I want to note that the gentleman at the front was extremely friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, the actual service left me quite disappointed. I requested a short ballerina shape and even showed an image. Despite asking several times to have them shorter, the technician seemed frustrated and didn't cut them down further. When shaping, so much was taken off the sides that the nails ended up in a true coffin shape instead of what I asked for. Unfortunately, she had already cut them before checking with me, so there wasn't much that could be done without starting over. For the ombré, the first color applied didn't blend well with the base. I asked to switch it after one nail, but the technician seemed visibly frustrated. The end result is a set of long coffin nails that are not the style I wanted. In addition, I feel the technician should be more approachable and friendly so customers feel comfortable communicating what they want. As a service provider, it's important that clients can clearly express their preferences and feel heard, especially at this price point. For $120 and an hour and a half of time, I expected to leave satisfied. Instead, I left unhappy with the results and am now considering going elsewhere to have them fixed. read more

I had a gel manicure about a week and a half ago and I'm very disappointed it did not last the tips are starting to chip my nails feel weaker. I called and explain this to the manager and he didn't offer much help. He said they only give you a week I was away and not feeling well .. and not able to make it in I had manicures for the past 10 years at other places never had this problem. I think they use cheap products and file your nails down so your nails are very thin. Will never return there again, and I had told friends and they will not use that salon .. read more

I have never written a review but for this place I must. They are a SCAM!!! I was there to get my nails, toes, and eyebrows done and had the worst experience I've ever had. Online you can book a pedicure for $30 and when you walk inside to the left is there menu where the price is listed the same. However, when getting them done they hand you a menu with different options and the lowest being $40, I figured it was an old menu or a typo, so I chose it (it said classic). Afterwards they charge me the $40 and I kindly explained when I booked the appointment it stated $30 and so did the menu on the wall. The manager then said it was because they perform a callous remover (as any regular pedicure does). Why would they charge an extra 10 dollars to scrape my feet, and also be sleazy and not write that anywhere or be clear that was an extra charge. Then when I was getting my nails done the girl was beyond unprofessional and rude. She was huffing and puffing the entire time, and at one time, even clicked her tongue out of annoyance at me. I accidentally hit my one nail on the side of the UV lamp and she had to fix it, which is her job that she clearly was in no mood to do both kindly or professionally. Also, their prices are disgustingly high. I got a gel set and wanted French and they were going to charge me $110 dollars compared to at 3D nails it would've costed me near $70-80. Mind you, they keep all of this hidden until the end, and I'm glad I asked before because I needed up getting just one basic color and it was still $90. And when the girl finished she just got up and left, without saying anything, and didn't even fix the bottom of the nails that still have dust and glue all over them. Do not come here. read more

I recently went again as I was able to get an appointment for later on in the afternoon. It was peaceful and relatively quiet. I was seated right away. The male manicurist did a good job. They have good quality gel polish and I was relatively satisfied with the outcome. The hand massage needs improvement, but overall my nails look pretty good. read more

She repaired my fragile nails which I've not had done at other locations, they usually just put the sns over it but she took the time to repair for a solid foundation before moving to sns. Huang, who runs the place is a very nice and a helpful gentleman. It's my understanding he recently acquired the business. I would recommend he gets more staff, that actually know what it is they are doing. He has an older gentleman that is doing pedicures and other little assistant things, but he's not that great at my pedicures and they had him remove my powder gel nail polish and he was actually physically trying to pull it off my fingernails. I came home and still had to buff and clean up my own nails after his service. Huang does a great job, but I would run for the hills if you're out with the older gentleman. read more

Went for a gel manicure. I couldn't find the brand on google even... few days after my appointment the top layer started to peel but looked like it was melting? I left the salon with bits of nail polish on my skin which I found strange they didn't bother to clean it up. I guess the other two people who worked there were off duty and were just SO loud almost screaming the entire time I was there. I came here for the first time last Saturday and was very satisfied! I've been trying to find a new nail salon since I moved and been having trouble, but I'm so glad I found this place. I am so rough with my nails and they are still going strong! The pedicure was so relaxing with lots of warm towels throughout and the gel manicure was not finished until perfect! I will definitely be coming back here. A little on the pricey side but worth EVERY penny. I'm not a girly girl either, I told the girls to do whatever shape and however thick the French manicure they wanted to make and they did it perfect to my hand size/shape. Love it!! read more

I just came in to Chroma for the first time this afternoon on a whim, and I'm so glad I did! I got the best SNS mani I've ever had. My manicurist truly took her time, made sure everything was perfect, smooth, and symmetrical. She didn't cut, burn, or hurt my cuticles at all, which was a very refreshing change from my last SNS at my previous salon. My daughter and my niece also got a toenail polish change with design while I was in the chair. They came out beautiful, and our bill for the three of us was only $45. New to the area found this nail salon on yelp and was excited b/c their recent work is great. Specifically for the pink and white French gel sets. Turns out it's under very new ownership so the older pics of the salon are dated. The salon now is updated very fresh and organized (thank goodness) full staff very friendly, gave a quick consult and got to work ! I got a pedi and full set and all was great. So disappointed I used to love going to Chroma Nails. The old owners Cindy and Andy were fantastic and their staff was great. It used to be very relaxing to go and be pampered. News 12 would be on with subtitles, no volume and there would be classical music playing at a very low volume, geared towards relaxation. Now it was louder music, geared towards the staff and foreign movies with subtitles, geared towards the staff's enjoyment rather than the customers relaxation and enjoyment. I have gone twice since January and this new staff have taken over and have been extremely disappointed with the quality of the pedicures I have been receiving. I have always upgraded to the higher end pedicures which are also priced considrably higher than a regular pedicure, what I have received since Cindy and Andy are no longer there have been barely regular pedicure quality. I have been told by the current staff that Cindy and Andy still own the shop but that the current staff are running and managing the business for them but Cindy & Andy no longer work there - seems odd, knowing how particular Cindy Andy were about every aspect of their business and customer relations, I cant imagine this is how they would want their business being run. Setup, feel and staff are all different. No longer happy with the quality of service and unless Cindy and Andy are truly still the owners and come back and are activly involved in business and quality of the services, I will be looking for a new nail salon read more

Very nice staff! The vibe is quiet and relaxing. A bunch of other customers came in while I was there but it was never loud. It seems like one of those places where they remember you when you go in. I was looking for a new nail salon and i needed an appt asap. I saw Chroma had some good reviews so i gave them a chance and they didn't disappoint. The salon was clean and welcoming, they make sure everyone washes their hands first. I had a fresh full set of gel nails extensions. They took their time which is great but i didn't expect as most places rush. I haven't had time to go back for a refill yet but it has been 6 weeks and not one nail chipped or broke off.
