I stopped by for a quick lunch and decided on a Bowl-rito with Spanish rice, black beans, steak, red salsa, pico de gallo, cheese, cilantro, onions, and cabbage instead of lettuce. One of the male workers here was very rude! He was rude to the lady in front of me and then was rude to me as well. The food was decent but nothing special. I was eating at a nearby restaurant and saw him and another women get into an altercation, because he was obnoxious in the parking lot. She confronted him and I watched him laugh in her face. It has changed my life for the better, my child my child's first real meal will definitely be chronic tacos. My friends and I have grown up going to chronic tacos for pretty much every week and every day of each week, it is the best, Post surf, post Beach, post work, post anything. I want to love Chronic but every time I eat there the experience is the same. Dry and tasteless. So I guess on some level they are consistent. I ordered the California burrito, which in theory should be epic. It's a large steak burrito packed with yummy offerings like steak, guacamole, crisp French fries, etc. But in reality, this monster was a mess. The two pieces of steak that were in the burrito were dry! It was packed with guacsmole and the fries were greasy. It was completely unloveable. Walked in this morning and ordered a taco & the service was amazingly gracious and environment above and beyond.

It was disappointingly mediocre. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't good either, it reminded me of good campus food, but not worth what we paid. I got a burrito, it was huge but there was barely any meat and it was just packed with fries. The guacamole didn't have any flavor either so it was just like eating goo. I had the carnitas tacos, re fried beans and rice with guacamole and salsa on the side with juice to go when I wanted to try the tacos here. All the food I had tasted ok then the tacos were a little soggy from too much juice from the meat. Then you can't squeeze all the juice out of the meat then it would taste dry. I don't usually order fast food or go to these types of places for Mexican food often. If want cheaper food expect the food isn't going to be like restaurant quality when they prepare it fast then you take it to go. These places are good for people who need to grab food quickly. I do expect cheaper food to at least taste ok then maybe another location may be a lot better. read more

This was my first time ever trying out Chronic Tacos. People have raved about it, so why not give it a try and see? I got a carne asada bowl-rrito, which reminds me of Chipotle. You get to pick your own rice, meat, beans, and toppings. My boyfriend got a pork bowl-rrito. We both came to the conclusion of it being okay. The meat tasted kind of dry. We also got chips and guac. I used to go here a few times a week! Recently, the food has not been good, but I figured it was just new staff learning the recipes. It's been a few months now, and no improvement. Drove up to a Long Beach location and received the food I have been missing. Decided to go here for lunch today and give it one last try after being disappointed numerous times. The beans were soup, nothing tastes like it used to and my burritos are inedible- they just turn into a tortilla mess. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back to this location.
