I don't get to Chronic Tacos too often as there are not many near me, but I always enjoy it when I am in an area with one. I like how you can build your own plate, pick your toppings and the various options. The theme of Chronic Tacos is SoCal Taco life, 3rd generation Mexican recipes, fresh ingredients and a casual atmosphere. The guys behind the counter were helpful and generous with the toppings. You pretty much can get any combination of meat and toppings you can think of. I personally got the two taco plate with rice and pinto beans and a side of chips and salsa, with a soda. I got a Pollo Asado and an Al pastor taco, meat is so flavorful and the put enough meat I. Them to make 3 or 4 tacos. Their hot salsa is the one I liked the best, but all were very good. The restaurant is fairly small inside, but clean and a nice, no interior searing, only exterior patio seating, but that works perfectly, it is a very nice patio. There is a large parking lot, but it can get very busy, so you may have to park a bit further unless you get lucky. Even with the parking not being the greatest, I would recommend you checking them out and getting some good food and cool vibes. Enjoy!

We live in Long Beach and go to the Lakewood chronic Taco almost every Friday. We ended up coming to this location and it blew away the Lakewood location. The guac was homemade (some of the best guac I have ever eaten), they weren't cheap on the beans and rice, and they were very nice. They greeted us as soon as we walked in. Gerardo is the one who helped us.

This place is more of a quick service taco place. Similar to chipotle the food is sitting out and you choose your options. Lead was a little dry. For the kids meal and two taco. No inside seating so you are sitting outside next to the street and parking.

Got a carne asada burrito and side of chips to go, but I saw they had patio tables outdoors for people who want dine in, offering the perfect ambiance on a sunny day. In terms of food, the carne asada burrito was wrapped with flour tortilla and stuffed with white rice, refried beans, carne asada and some lettuce and tomatoes. The flour tortilla was really good, and tasted like it was freshly made (as opposed to the pre made ones with tons of preservatives). I was a bit disappointed with the stuffing inside, as the stuff inside was pretty flavorless (e.g. white rice was very plain, lettuce a bit soggy). The chips were decent, although the salsa Verde was a bit too spicy for my taste. Overall, still a decent option in Irvine during your lunch break, but nothing to write home about.

The worst customer service. This lady deserves to have a conversation with the manager owner.

The rest of the staff exception except for this one woman at the cash register. She was extremely rude, over Tramy, even though I pointed out, and refused to provide me with the jalapeños that I asked for. It's a small thing especially when you're paying over 10 bucks for a burrito.. I will say the rest of the staff was great and I could tell that they were looking at her for being so rude.

I use to come to chronic religiously in high school for lunch, especially on Tuesday. I decided to come back and give it a try today. The portions are huge. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings but they do on the protein... the carne asada was dry and tough, however the free guac made up for it. 3.5/5

Ain't no taco like a Chronic Taco! This is one of my favorite local chains for good taco grub. They have tons of different options like burritos, nachos, quesadillas. My favorite item is the tacos! They are served with a good portion of meat, and unlimited toppings of your choice. My fave is the pico de gallo, cheese, lettuce, and their delicious Baja sauce. Everytime I come in, the restaurant is always clean and well organized. They run a well-run machine. All of the workers are fast and kind. There isn't seating inside, but this shopping center has tons of outside tables. My only critique is this shopping center gets very busy and sometimes chaotic due to all the stores and yummy options here--so that give a bit of extra time!

A bowl (I like extra sauce that's why the whole lid is covered LOL, another example of how they listen to you!)

Are your beans and rice vegetarian? Or are they cooked in lard or chicken stock?

Good morning. All our beans are vegan. No animal products are added. Our white lime rice is also vegan. However, our Spanish rice is made with chicken stock and/or chicken bouillon. Thank you!

Can I just order fries by themself without any toppings?

Of course you can! Come give them a try.

Do they have Taco Tuesday deal here?

Yes, they have pollo, carnitas, al pastor, or carne asada tacos for $2 each on Tuesdays.
