Wahoos fish taco Irvine: 6.5/10 Service: 8/10 individual taking orders was kind and friendly, and the place looked constantly reorganized and reset. Aesthetic & Ambiance: 7/10 its a chain so no comment on the aesthetic aside from what you see is what you get. The ambiance was slower for a Wednesday evening. Chicken Taquitos: 6/10 not bad, just a little dry but the salsa helped even out the crisp. read more

Ambience was great, portions were fantastic for the price, and they have a full bar in the back with $10 handcrafted margaritas! One of the best spots for a lunch in the mall. I upgraded my bowl to wild caught fish (they don't tell you which one but it was a white fish and at least its wild caught) for a minor upcharge and it was SO yummy. Could have been a bit more tender, but the sides made up for it. I didn't even see their salsa bar but didn't feel that I needed it- everything was so flavorful and a staple Californian chain. read more

I went to Wahoo's Fish Taco in Irvine and paid for my order with a credit card. On the payment terminal, it only showed a total amount with a "yes" or "no" option--there was no indication that a tip was included or being added. I selected "yes," assuming I was simply approving the charge. When I received my receipt, I saw that the total included a 10% tip. The tip was automatically included in the displayed price without any notification or approval. That is so sketchy. I definitely won't be going back. read more

Delicious spicy chicken burrito and they also had grilled unsalted white fish available for my dog! I got 3 oz of it for about $3 and she finished it within 1 minute! Hidden dog menu! They have a salsa bar, lots of seating, fairly priced margs and good bears on tap! read more

Likes: + I like the vast range of selections here, from meats to sides to sauces. So much to choose from! + Fascinating interior decor, as with all Wahoo's restaurants. + Friendly, helpful staff. The food wasn't particularly delicious, but it'll fill you up fine. Also, parking here can get hectic during typical weekday lunch hours here, as many employees stop by this plaza for their lunch break. read more

This was my second visit to a Wahoo's. I thought maybe I ordered wrong on my first visit so I ordered the fish tacos with rice and beans. It was pretty basic and not very flavorful. I could have made better. The rice was decent. I liked it better than the tacos. LOL. My husband likes Wahoo's and gets their Banzai burrito. He hates bland so if for some reason I find myself at Wahoo's again, I'll try that. Parking in the lot is tough. There's a free parking structure that has additional spaces. read more

One our favorite spots at the spectrum for quick service and yummy food. We always get the chicken tortilla soup - so delicious and cheap. I also got the potato tacos and my partner got the enchiladas. It's affordable, quick and friendly service. Check it out if you want a low key lunch! read more

I'm in town from Maine and tacos were a must eat. I tried this place because it was across from my hotel. Very mediocre, no taste, small portions, and overpriced. Only positive was the staff. Pass on this one if you're considering eating here. I would choose Taco Bell and Chipotle over this establishment. read more

There's never been a time where wahoos hasn't hit. I have been going my whole life and every time it's just so so good!! My go to is a bonzai bowl with chicken and let me tell you. It's so good, fresh, veggies are amazing, overall just such a good meal. I love the teriyaki sauce too. The Cajun seasoned fries are classic. They are one of my favourite fries ever and I get them every single time I make a trip to Wahoo. Overall another great experience yet again and would highly recommend wahoo as a quick casual lunch or dinner spot. I also really like the girl at the cashier, she's super sweet and she's taken my order a few times. read more

The standard for grilled fish tacos and enchiladas. Fresh ingredients home made salsa and fast service. I keep forgetting about this location because it is in the Park Place plaza location of Irvine. Price point beats everything else in the shopping center, nothing fancy but always consistently good, I recommend the grilled fish enchiladas with green sauce. read more

It's OK I heard fish tacos but they gave me chicken. I was running late so I didn't have time to change them out. It wasn't super flavorful just basic. If you're in a pinch you can come here. I would probably just stick with the original fish tacos which is what I originally wanted. read more

This is my go to wahoos. Used to work at Mothers Market and would come here for my lunch breaks. I would always order the wet style citrus slaw burrito with shrimp. I Was feeling hungry today and ordered it extra shrimp and have not been here in some years. The total was $21.55 including the drink. When I got my order I was fine until I opened up the burrito to see I've been given less shrimp whereas if I just ordered the shrimp enchiladas with green sauce... (which I ordered recently and had no issues with) So I feel like as a customer I was kinda robbed when I used to be a regular back in the day and always loved my order and quality of the food. But I coughed up like an hours worth of pay to be completely and utterly disappointed. My hope is to get a refund and maybe next time just order the enchiladas because this is ridiculous and I can count on my single hand how many shrimps were actually in this large burrito.... Very dissatisfied like that's a lot of money for a meal that I should've been satisfied with... my power was out for my apt complex so came to stop by for lunch and left hungry :(( read more

Wahoos is one of my family's favorite places to eat. Since moving out of CA we make sure to eat it whenever we visit. The service is always super friendly and fast. The food is fresh, tasty and relatively healthy. And the prices are super reasonable. Our kids got kids taco plate and a bowl. My wife and I split a two taco plate, spicy fish, 1988 style, black beans/ white rice with extra pico and cilantro sauce. Sooo good!!! read more

Wahoo's Fish Tacos has great food. I sometimes crave their beer-battered onion rings, which are really solid. Sadly, the Wahoo's open in the Bay Area where I'm based have closed down so I need to be in SoCal for my fix. I headed out to this Wahoo's straight from John Wayne Airport to get my fix and because I wanted to use an American Express offer to get a rebate. Long story short, I enjoy Wahoo's Fish Tacos and this place meets all the benchmarks. I give it only three stars instead of four or five mainly because of the parking situation. Parking in this shopping complex is such a mess they have to have people directing traffic. If you're lucky enough to find parking in a decent amount of time, there's lots of options in this complex, and Wahoo's is a good one. I'm also only giving three stars because the day I went, I ordered a Maui Onion Ring burrito, which had all these delicious things in it, as described on the menu on the wall. But when I ordered, the cashier asked me if I wanted "extras" such as sour cream and guac and such in my burrito. Per the menu these things were standard. But I heard "extra" and thought I would be charged extra. So I told her no, I don't want any of that. The miscommunication was unfortunate. But even without sour cream and guac, my burrito was delicious. read more

Visited on a Sunday morning (11ish) and it was great. Clean and open seating. Hefty portions on the guac, Beans and rice - and the kids loved the taquitos. Love this location, been coming here since high school for the fish tacos, and nothing has changed. The service is top notch with the same people working there for as long as I can remember. The shopping center it's in is hectic with parking, but it is the longest standing restaurant in the center for good reason. Delicious burritos, tacos, chips and guac/salsa, everything amazing. This Wahoo's has been the main one I've gone to during my 4 years at UCI. Their wet burritos are the best I've had. I specifically like the Mr. Lees Chicken Special Burrito. It costs an extra 25 cents to make it a "wet burrito", but it is so worth it. This burrito has a good amount of mushrooms, so if you like mushrooms, try this! read more

This Wahoo's is an oasis of chill in what might be an otherwise stuffy shopping center. If you've been to one, you know the vibe. If not, it's a surf/skate menagerie of posters and stickers with an authentic vibe. I moved away and was so glad to be able to grab my fave fish taco plate during a return visit to the OC. White spicy beans are as good as I remember them. The onion rings, too: beer battered, hot and just the right amount of crisp outside, and soft inside. I came back the next day to catch a football game on the TV and had the crispy spicy fish sandwich, which was also great. I originally got worried when I saw it was a couple of fish sticks in a bun, but the kale coleslaw and spicy sauce balanced the textures and flavors perfectly, it was great. Notably, the service here was great both times. Very friendly and attentive folks took care of me, cleared my table and made me feel very welcome here. read more

First of they dont accept apple pay or any contactless payments .. physical card or cash. Then the guy who got my ordered somehow managed to do something wrong because i had to check on it and he said he made a mistake . There was like 2 people in the restaurant like how.. it took 15 plus minutes for my order and people after got theres first ... also the food is mid go to baja fish instead . read more

The Maui Steak Bowl is the play. It's a staple at our office and we get it once a week. They never fail in the preparation of the bowls and it's a lot of food for the price. It's odd this place is only a 3.5 stars because they are always delivering quality food at a good price. You can get out of there for $17 and everything else over in the area feels like it's $25-30. This was actually my first time here, which is pretty strange, since I was born and raised here in Orange County. Anyway, the food was amazing. Much better than I expected. I had the chicken taquitos... I didn't care for the for the fish taco with the chicken taquitos for bomb and I went back for a second order. The rice and beans are good. I came on a Wednesday after work; I (and presumably others) was getting food on the way from work to eat at home. Otherwise if you want to eat here, your car is the ambiance and dining area. I got a burrito and some consomme, plus a quesadilla for the next day. The burrito was *packed* with beef and tasted super pleasantly meaty. I think I counted like six beans total and a bite of rice otherwise, pleasantly surprised by the filling ratios. Salsas were tasty and pleasantly spicy, consommé was flavorful and just oily enough. If you take something home I highly recommend crisping it up in a pan before inhaling. I was in and out in about 15 minutes with no line. Two huge freshly made items plus a medium consommé (which is about the size of a medium soft drink) was about $30. When it gets busy you'd probably be better off calling in an order and picking it up. I'm looking forward to the quesadilla for dinner later on, and I'll definitely be back.

I noticed a customer in front of us ordered a kids plate which included two street tacos and rice and beans. That's what I ended up ordering with Carne Asada and chorizo. There were four or five proteins to choose from for the kids plate. I loved the grilled meats with the char flavor. It was delicious! Everything was well seasoned. I wish I would've ordered a third or maybe even a fourth taco because it was that good! I will definitely come back many times and it's going to be on our lunch rotation for sure.
