We decided to go to Chronic Taco's after being in Palmdale and seeing it several times during our trip. The ordering process is a little confusing though; you have to look at an opposite wall while you try to figure out what's going on with the restaurant. Once you figure out the wall, you're able to order a little bit easier. I wish they would figure out an easier way, like having Station 1, Station 2, Station 3, etc., so you know what to order at each station. In any case, the food was great. Our Baja shrimp and carne asada tacos were really tasty. My husband liked all his food. Our only real disappointment was that the corn tortillas fell apart as we were eating. When we first went to Chronic Tacos, the food was decent and I got a good amount for the price. Over time though, the service started to lag, and they started putting less and less food in the bowl (I usually get the bowl-rito). They have been acting like Subway by way of penny pinching the amount of meat, cheese, etc. The servers appear to be in a daze half the time. Please don't let a phone order come in or else everything stops and you have 5-6 people lined up. So sorry, not sorry that I am not going to stand in line to pay close to $8 for a bowl that is less than half full. Everytime we go here they are running out of something. Today they didn't have lettuce or Carne Asada. The server literally said "I can't add more meat because we are running out". I just went there today and I did not like their service they take very long to make you the food. The older ladies that work there feel like they're in titled and chitchat too much with each other instead of doing there work. On a whim I decided to try Chronic Tacos for lunch in Lancaster. Located across from the mall, Chronic Tacos is a fast-casual Mexican restaurant. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, though the place was busy during lunchtime. Though breakfast is served all day, I was in the mood for vegetarian, so I opted to go for a veggie bowl/salad. The veggie salad came with standard white rice, beans, cheese, cabbage, lettuce, cilantro, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and chipotle mayo. In the process of ordering in line I asked for fajita veggies, which was included, but was told I should had asked for them when I placed the order. As I did not want to wait in line for an additional five minutes, I decided to forego the grilled vegetables. The cost for the veggie salad bowl was the same as one with meat, which was a little disappointing considering the ingredients. Though my dish looked plentiful, it was disappointing as it was mostly rice, lettuce, and cabbage, with a dearth of beans. The serving of guacamole was about a spoonful, and the cheese, which looked like a cheddar blend, was rather tasteless. The chipotle mayo was the only interesting part of my meal. This place gave my boyfriend really bad food poisoning the other day, he had to go to the ER he was throwing up so bad, he got the pork burrito. Waste of our money , I didn't even dare try eating mine since I got the same thing as him. Every time I've been here the employees seem unhappy and move at a slow pace even if your the only customer there, it's not a pleasant experience. Also, whenever I get salsa on my food they literally slop it on there but if you ask for it on the side they give you a tiny cup filled halfway. Got the baja tacos here once and they put so much salsa that by the time I got home they were soggy and completely fell apart.
