Wonderful experience! My friend and I are from California and had trouble finding a restaurant where the food actually tasted good. Tonight was our last night here, and we decided to try Chrysalis. The ambience was so charming, and the entire staff was incredibly friendly and kind. Brennan was amazing--he explained the menu clearly and was very accommodating of my friend's dietary restrictions. Service was 5 stars Old Fashioned was 4 stars Wine selection was good The bread is very important in any Italian restaurant and the Bread For Two was super dry and tasted old. Our server Felicia, who was awesome, replaced our first bread offering and while it was softer it was still very dry with the focaccia needing to take a drink in order to get it down. Burrata appetizer was a 5 star offering with the onion jam adding a scrumptious touch. The Coffee rubbed elk rib was a 4 star offering but pairing with the parsnips turned it into a 3 star offering. A better choice might be garlic mashed potatoes or a risotto. The parsnips were too "sweet" to balance out the richness of the elk. The asparagus was perhaps not the right choice for this time of year. Veal Milanese had fabulous flavor but was tough and the over breaded veal soaked up a lot of oil. The broccolini was fabulous. A few good things a few bad things. Starting with the good, build your own charcuterie, was probably the best part of the experience. Very fresh meats and cheeses delicious roasted garlic. The downside was the service. It took a while for our server to greet us , she just filled the water glass and left. Our friends were running a few minutes late and she didn't even offer for us to order a drink while we were waiting on them. The entrées for 3/4 of us all came out together. The three of us completely finished our meals and my friend's entree still had not arrived. She asked the server politely to check on her dinner to which the server replied. It's coming. It's all coming. I pointed out that the rest of us had completely finished our dinner and hers had yet to arrive. She then apologized and went to the kitchen and found out they had to remake it. 6/9/2025 Arrived at 6 pm hoping to have a nice dinner with my wife, 6:15 pm ordered two meals, margarita flat bread and halibut dinner. At 7 pm still waiting for dinner which finally came out around 7:10 pm. Flat bread was cold and halibut dinner was barely luke warm sitting and a bed of rizotto which was sitting on about a cup on water on the plate. Waiter told us it was a wine reduction not water, which I beg to differ, no matter it was all cold/ Luke warm at best. The manager came over and apologized and said he'd give us a free dessert and walked away. We then told the waiter it was not acceptable, and the manager came back again and said if we would have made a reservation it would have been better and tried to lay the blame back on us, he picked up our plates and walked away with no more apology saying he would not charge us for dinner, so we got up and walked out. How a reservation would have made a difference I don't know. What a waste of time !!! Also the pricing on meals was more than $$ given above. My wife and I tried Chrysalis out while visiting friends in Franklin. We were pleasantly surprised by how great everything was! We loved the handmade noodles and the quality of the vodka sauce. The portions were great, and we were both full with just our individual servings. Our server, Lucy, was kind and welcoming. This definitely is worth the stop in Franklin and it was by far one of our best meals in our time visiting both Nashville and Franklin. It was a great meal for my wife's birthday. Who the hell could could have even consider giving a Five Star review for an Italian restaurant in Brentwood, Tennessee? Sure, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco - no problem! But Brentwood, Tennessee - really? Well, here it goes: After a full day of golf, in a tournament I had no idea was taking place, us four souls did pretty damn good. Of course, drinks at the clubs bar and guys carrying on like guys do, our host said let's BOLT and get dinner. We drive a few miles to Chrysalis Italian restaurant, got a drink at the bar and waited for a table (as this place was packed). Tennessee people being Tennessee people we all started talking (at the bar) football, golf, parenthood and life in general. Our table opened and that's when the surprise took place. I ordered a Caesar Salad (of course). The burrata salad and Italian bread basket followed. All was excellent. Then mains came out: Pasta Bolognese Saltimbocca Pasta Short Ribs Were just flat out wonderful! Our Paring Bordeaux red blend paired perfectly with this meal. A giant wedge of Tiramisu for dessert just kicked out meal in the stratosphere. A shot of Disaronni liquor ended this beautiful meal on an exceptional high note. What a day - perfect fall weather, golf at its best, a perfect foursome so compatible it worked in every way and this fantastic dinner at Chryslalis. One of my better days in 2023 for sure! We had such a great time at Chrysalis! We made a same-day reservation for a Friday night dinner and got a lovely booth to sit at. First time going, and the restaurant was just glowing. We loved the decor, the light, the cozy yet roomy space, all of it! Our server was so friendly and made great recommendations. We ordered: - Bread for Two-- the focaccia was so nice!! - Scampi Bruschetta - Later Alligator and Punch Drunk house cocktails - We got the Lamb Osso special, recommended by our server! Went to Chrysalis, arrived early for our reservation so we decided to have a cocktail at the bar. The bartenders Felicia and Ben are extremely knowledgeable and so friendly, we were kinda sad to leave them for our table. They do create some delicious cocktails and recommend the Blood Moon Rising. We left the bar and our server Brenner was outstanding, explaining the various options, making recommendations, and helping us choose in the end. What's cool about this place is you can "create your own" charcuterie plate with about 25 different items. While everything was good, highly recommend the Humboldt Fog goat milk cheese that is a Blue Cheese wanna-be with a smooth creamy texture and a light blue cheese flavor. The Fig Jam is incredible and I would buy this in a jar. If there is an appetizer you should choose...it would be the Burrata. This is a complex dish combined so many flavors, none of which canceled or clashed with the other. The flavors all work, and we even added some of the fig jam and pickled grapes to the mix creating even more flavor combinations. I went with the special and was not disappointed...a seared rack of lamb with baby heirloom root vegetables in a Marsala and Cabernet demi glaze. The lamb was perfect, the root vegetables al dente, and when dipped into the glaze made this one of the best lamb dishes I've ever enjoyed. The full house salad is a meal in itself and the prosecco vinaigrette was a perfect match to the fresh greens. For dessert some Pina Colada Panna Cotta, very sweet and tasted just like the drink. Need to return and actually try some of the pasta...with all of the wonderful items we had we realized we didn't have any pasta dishes. Highly recommend this spot...they offer creative food, exceptional service, in a very comfortable atmosphere. read more

Tried this spot for the first time tonight. The inside is very cute and well decorated. We had a drink at the bar while waiting for a booth. The Manager was very nice and apologized even though we were early for our reservation and only had to wait for a bit. Once we sat we started with the bread for two and it was soooooo good! I love a good bread! Came with delicious softened butter and EVOO dip. I really enjoyed the house salad since it had nuts and pickled onions, very tasty. My husband had the monkfish dish which was good but the risotto was a little bland. The only thing I didn't love was my bruschetta - the crostini it came on was soggy and not toasted and the dish was very lemony... too lemony for me. I'd love to try pasta next time, that's probably the best bet. The flatbread pizzas also looked amazing on other diner's tables. read more

Lamb chops were really good. Tiramisu was okay, not great. Wasn't as soft in the middle , you can tell it's been sitting in the fridge for a while. My friends got Carbonara pasta and weren't impressed. Service wasn't great but they seemed short staffed so can't blame the server for that one. Came into town for a short weekend trip and was recommended this place through Yelp. We had a reservation but ended up being about 30 minutes early and the staff and owner were so accommodating and welcoming that we were seated immediately. At first glance, the restaurant is modern with lovely design elements that bring it to life. And the food was truly as wonderful and as delicious as the staff said it would be. Unfortunately I forgot the owner and our server's name; however, they were attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Based on our server's recommendations, we had the made to order charcuterie board, fresh baked focaccia bread, mussels, and the vodka diavolo pasta. Everything was absolutely delicious, came out promptly, and very fairly priced. Our dinner was the best meal I've had while visiting Nashville. This is a hybrid tapas place and the food did not disappoint. If you're a picky eater, now worries, something you like is likely on the menu. The homemade pasta was outstanding, cooked perfectly. Our server was amazing. We started with the Pork Belly Appetizer. It's melted in our mouths. Moved on the the Shrimp Alfredo with house made fettuccine noodles. The wife said it was the best she'd had. I had the Elk Rack with whipped parsnips and grilled asparagus. It was amazing. Perfectly cooked. Ordered the bread plate and again...fantastic. Finished the night with Tiramisu. The presentation of every plate we had was beautiful. I really can't recommend Chrysalis enough. It will be my number 1 for anyone looking for a place to dine. We had a nice experience at Chrysalis. Our server, Lucy, was very attentive and helpful. It has a cute ambiance despite being tucked into a strip mall. We started with the bread for 2. It had good flavor, but was a little dry. It didn't remind me of true Italian bread. I wouldn't order this again. I ordered the salmon pasta. They give you 3 choices on which kind of pasta you want. Only one of the options was homemade, which I find disappointing. I went with the homemade fettuccine and it was very good and cooked Al dente. The salmon was also cooked well. The dish had a lot of capers which made it saltier than I would have liked and the artichokes were huge which made it difficult for me to eat. Overall it was a solid dish. My husband had the short rib risotto. The short rib was good but the risotto was very bitter. I asked the server what was bitter and she said maybe the tarragon chimichurri? I don't know if it was that or they over cooked the lemon? If it was me, I would have sent it back, but my husband will never do that. My MIL ordered the carbonara and that was probably the best dish. It was made appropriately with egg and pasta was Al dente. Finally we ordered the homemade cheesecake for dessert. Definitely smaller than expected, but it was soooo creamy!! I didn't love the crumble on top as it takes away from the creaminess when you're eating each bite, but that's personal preference. I also thought overall pricing for the food was average which is good because most Italian places I find are way too expensive for what you get. Overall, I would try this place again and see what other options offer. read more

The food was remarkably cooked and plated. Alcoholic drink recommendations were delicious and well mixed. The customer service was superb! The manager Andrew was very professional, welcoming and I noticed he helped the servers when they were too busy. He walked around talking to everyone as if he knew everyone. They had Very clean facilities. The Food was served within an appropriate amount of time. They are not very big so if you really want to make sure you're not waiting on the weekends call and make reservations. I can say they all made a lasting impression on my family and me. This was a top notch meal, with even better service! A friend and I went and had "girl dinner", ordering multiple small plates to share and then dessert. It was perfect! We filled up on shrimp bruschetta, crab stuffed portobello, burrata, and Caesar salad- 2 limoncellos- and 2 desserts! We took leftovers home and it was still under $100! Our server was amazing (I wish I could remember her name) and the place was very welcoming. We definitely got "pre-covid" service, which is such a hard thing to find these days.
