It was our first time as a family visiting the area and we decided to check out this restaurant for my dad's birthday. The wait was 3 hours, but there was a shopping outlet across the street. So we checked in our name and then shopped around the outlet. The restaurant texted us when the table was ready. We loved the restaurant and the fun atmosphere with delicious food. Our waiter was named Marin! He was AMAZING!! It was our first time here and Marin explained everything throughly to our family. Marin had excellent customer service and welcomed us warmly. We appreciate him so much! My dad had a fun memorable birthday celebration thanks to Marin! We definitely will come back and recommend this restaurant to our friends & family. first time i came here i just got my braces on, so this was a great redemption experience for me! we came at lunch on a friday and didnt have a wait for a table of 3 everything was delicious. the meats are cut slightly thicker to where it has more of a chew (brisket) but the portions are perfect given you will be bundling it with other food and sides etc. our server, viet, was very kind and cooked our meat for us for most of our time. sad the miso soup machine was down today :( i love a side soup with my meals. fyi: they are taking lobster roll off the menu. the chicken wing was very breaded and crunchy, but bland in flavor overall. truffle fries light in truffle in the best way. their soft serve ice cream is so good! it has a thick, richness to it. it's veryvv very loud in here, but we personally enjoy it because they play 2010s EDM, it's nostalgic for us. read more

It truly changed our standards for any BBQ restaurants, because we don't go to any other spots anymore. Lol. We are fortunate that Chubby is a short drive away from home. Exceptionally friendly, fast service! Tiffany helped us out, and she gave us such an incredible experience! She always checked on us & helped with our cooking. Your food orders will fly out of the kitchen pretty fast. The meats are fresh, never come out frozen, and all the other foods (sushi, sashimi, hot foods) are always delicious. The foods in the back are always fresh & replenished. I absolutely loved the milk tea and the new refreshing citrusy iced tea (I forgot the flavor!). Tips for any newcomers: If you're overwhelmed with what to order from their extensive menu, ask your server for any suggestions of what to try! The servers are also so friendly that they can help you cook (if it's not crazy busy), or at least get you started on how the grilling works. If you can, try visiting during the middle of the week (Mon-Thur) so you won't have the craziest wait time. My longest wait ever was 3 hours on a Saturday, but it was worth it in my opinion. On the weekends, you'll have to expect the long wait since people are out & about, and the shopping outlet is across the way. Anyway, Chubby Cattle has become our monthly date spot, our celebrate-a-special-occasion spot, and the place we take ALL family & friends who are visiting from out-of-town. Fam/friends who visit ALWAYS ask to go back to Chubby, and we take them back because it's another reason to exceed our once a month dinner date visit. haha. I think my pictures say enough about the quality. It's really hard to justify paying $65 ($78 without the member price) for yakiniku like this. At this point, I honestly regret getting the membership because I haven't enjoyed either Wagyu Master or Chubby Cattle. I was also disappointed to find out that all Mikiya locations in California are excluded from the membership, despite being listed on the official website. That feels very misleading. The waitlist was another issue. I checked in around 1:45 PM on a Saturday, only to find out they had already cut the line and the dinner waitlist wouldn't reopen until 4 PM. Their hours say they're open all day, so they should clearly indicate that the waitlist closes from 2-4 PM. We came back at 3:20 PM and there was already a line. Even after the 4 PM reopening, they only seated about five tables at first, so we didn't get seated until 4:45 PM. We were seated at the bar by the entrance, where it was very hot, and the music was so loud it felt like a rave. Our server was attentive, but the overall experience was not enjoyable. The only things I liked were the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Short Rib, beef tongue, Argentina shrimp, and A5 Wagyu Uni Caviar Nigiri. The A5 brisket and M8-9 Wagyu Otoro were particularly disappointing. The A5 knuckle was better but cut way too thick. I also questioned the quality of the "A5" meat because it was surprisingly tough and looked nothing like the photos. I even had to ask what some of the cuts were because they looked completely different. I've been to the Monterey Park location, which was slightly better, but the meat quality was still disappointing aside from the special cuts. I won't be returning to this location. read more

My wife and a friend of our's went to this Chubby Cattle a month ago. It's in a Asian strip mall complex with a 99 Ranch and other restaurants, it's also a block away from the San Francisco Premium Outlets (They call is SF Premium but it's in Livermore). We went on a Saturday afternoon, and put our names down on a waitlist, and we went over to the Outlets and did some shopping and more importantly walking to build up an appetite for AYCE. So it's not like we waited at or in front of the restaurant the whole time. We came back about 2 hours later and we got seated. There's a tablet screen at our table to make orders and there's also an area where you can get milk teas, fruit, sliders and other side dishes and a machine that despenses rice that you can eat with curry. My group tried to order as much as we could for variety sake while focusing on the Wagyu. The wagyu especially the O-Toro seems to be fattier pieces of meat than other beef items, so over the grill it the flames would flare up over the heat, so be safe and careful and know with those flames the meat will cook quickly. The meat, especially the wagyu was very yummy and fresh. You can order 10 items every 10 minutes, so if you really want to eat your money's worth be prepared. I recommend the marinated raw fish that you could order as a nigiri, as a hand roll or as carpaccio. Something to keep in mind, they have paid memberships where there are certain perks to it (e.g. preferrential seating, rewards, etc.) however like most rewards programs you need to go a lot and/or spend a lot of money for it to be worth the rewards. There's also a free program where you can accrue points, we liked the experience but probably wouldn't go enough to make a paid membership worth it. This is my third time here so I figure it's time to finally drop a review. If it's your first time: this is grill-it-yourself Japanese-style yakiniku BBQ restaurant, and any server would happily explain the how-to, menu set options (starting at $58 or $50 w/ membership) and preferences, and membership information + pricing info. The restaurant has self-serve ordering via a touchscreen mounted on a swivel, and orders for each item comes to your table within 1-3 minutes. Food and meat options are consistent with high quality thin and thick cuts, nigiri, sashimi, fried apps, and even optional hot pot boilers with soup options like tom yum and seafood broth. There are 3 menu sets with the latter two offering additional food options. One thing I love about this restaurant and brand is the marketing and design in the exterior, signage, and even interactive menus on the touchscreens, in addition to their membership loyalty program. The restaurant is often busy and popular though. There was a ~200 minute waitlist when we last checked: so get in early within 5 miles via the Yelp app! We saw the host put the in-person kiosk back inside by 5:30pm on a Saturday because the queue got too long! We even saw a customer continue to put their name in as host was putting it away despite the host warning them that it was a 3-4+ hour wait . The food quality of the meats and nigiris are consistently great, though with so many food options it's easy to get food coma too quick. My guilty pleasure is always the milk tea on tap, which is sweet, addicting, and full of calories! The Tom Yum soup was plentiful with shrimp, clams and calamari inside, but I think I'd skip the hot pot next time to fully endulge in the meat bbq and nigiris! Our server Cici today was super attentive and friendly. Upon ordering, she prompted us if we had any nut allergies (which was great cause my partner does!), and even noticed and mentioned that I had enough points from my membership for a reward, which earned us a free b1g1 free meal! We have a Chubby silver membership and while the drinks are already free, she was able to swap the free drinks perk with a A5 Striploin special dish for us! I loved that she and the team often checked in with a smile and made sure our experience was splendid while frequently clearing the trays and refreshing napkins and grill plates. Yakiniku style BBQ (not KBBQ so expect mostly unseasoned meats with 2 sweet dipping sauces). I had a large party of 10 people and we arrived on Saturday 6:30pm. It was a 2 1/2 hour wait (as expected) so we didn't get seated until 9:00pm. We were split into two tables of 5, back to back. Since we chose to do separate billing, we were able to choose a different tier per group. You get to order 10 items every 5 minutes. If you accidentally submit a smaller amount (say, 3 items), you still have to wait the full 5 minutes before placing another order. Drink station: They did have an impressive drink station. Hot tea, sodas, slushies, Oolong and Jasmine milk teas. Veggie station: Their "veggie" station was pretty lackluster. They filled multiple trays with the same lettuce, cucumber, grapes... Hot station: Very disappointing. The curry beef was cold. Mapo tofu was a tub of oil. Cheesy sweet potato smelled like durian. Egg tart was thick and dense. Silver Tier ($58): Awful, just awful...Lots of items were sold out, maybe because it was end of the day? The meat tasted like cheap cuts from a grocery store. It was so tough we had a spit cup for all the chewy pieces. I would recommend ordering only thin meats. The fish (Carpaccio/Nigiri) was actually good, but they only have 2 kinds: salmon and yellowtail. Gold Tier ($78): The other table opted for the higher tier. They said the gold tier meat was good but limited to 1 per person. According to them, the Uni was "Gross. Hella nasty." Overall this dinner was not worth it and a waste of time. Sad. read more

We have had A5 wagyu in Kobe Japan and was the best we ever had. Came here with my family as my daughter has been wanting to try this place. It was 5pm on a Thursday and was told it will be an hour wait! We chose to sit at counter which has no waiting time. We only got the silver set since we are not big eater but I think it's a mistake. The meat was tough and bland. The selection included in AYCE was good, we like the salmon. Steam egg is tasteless. Shrimp was fresh. Tom Yum soup was spicy. Love the black milk tea and great fruit variety too! We did not join the membership, don't think will be back. If you are trying this place, get at least the gold so you get the A5 wagyu, don't waste money on the silver. read more

I know this seems nitpicky, but the use of low-quality AI art really hinders the dining experience. The uncanniness of the weird illustrations is distracting and adds nothing to your appetite. If you're going to invest in your business, why cheap out on the decor when it's so prominent to your customers? Commission something once and you're set forever. And it was definitely a choice; the booths and lighting were thematically designed, but the illustrations were just lazily given to AI to generate. Even the business owner's responses on Yelp seem AI-generated (prove me wrong, include the characters "fghjk"). Leaves me to wonder that if the business owner is willing to cheap out on this, did they also cheap out on the quality of the food? Fortunately, the food is OK. It was appropriate for its price point, but doesn't exceed in any way. As others have mentioned, the wait time displayed on the tablet has been incorrect. At the time of wait-lististing, the expected wait time was 15-30 minutes. Took us an hour to be seated for Monday lunchtime for two people. Had high hopes. But ultimately cannot recommend this establishment and would not be returning again. Joined the Yelp waitlist on a busy Thursday evening for my party of 5. We went with the gold tier which was $78/person if you're not a member. My favorites were all of the A5 meats under "special meats", the A5 wagyu foie gras nigiri, the A5 wagyu uni caviar nigiri, and A5 brisket. I also liked the nigiri, handrolls, and carpaccio. The corn cheese was super artificially sweet though which threw us off. The grills were also pretty sticky. Unfortunately a lot of items were sold out/out of stock. It's also quite crowded at the self-service bar and the aisles to walk to/from your table are very narrow. The samurai milk tea was good, very creamy though. They were out of Pepsi Zero from the soda fountain. They did have a good fruit selection, including cherries and blueberries which I feel are more uncommon at other AYCE restaurants. I liked that they had wagyu cheeseburgers, egg tarts, wagyu curry, and mapo tofu options as well. Service was pretty fast but the limited dining time did feel pretty rushed. I want to preface this by saying that the food and our server Cici were both very good! Shoutout to Cici for the amazing and attentive service. The 3 stars is for the waitlist experience as well as the layout and crampness of the restaurant. We came in Saturday at 3pm to get our name on the waitlist for dinner and there was already a long line. By 4pm, we were able to get our name down so we walked over to the outlets. By 5pm, we get a text that our table is ready and we need to check in within 5 minutes so we rushed back to check in. However, when we get there our table was not ready and they said that a table is wrapping up. We ended up wait over 30 mins more. It seemed that this happened to many parties as well since i saw other people visibly frustrated about this. Next, inside the restaurant, the self serve station is in the back where the register, the hallway for the bathroom and kitchen are. So basically everyone is funneling through the same narrow walkway as well as employees hanging out at the registers. It's very chaotic and you can't really get your food comfortably. Because of this, I barely got up to get anything at the self serve station after my initial trip there. I did get up to see if it was any less chaotic back there but it doesn't let up so i went back. Overall, will not be back to this location. Our experience in Rowland Heights was much more enjoyable, this location comes nowhere close. read more

I don't know what happened, if it was just a fluke this time or because I came on a weekend instead of a weekday, but the meat was not good (texture and flavor were terrible) this time and the service was just decent at best. I had everything from the diamond, gold, and silver tiers and everything was not nearly as good as I remember. I don't even know who our server was. There were no issues but it just wasn't really good or memorable. Last time, the silver tier was really good and the service was amazing. This time, I was very disappointed. I had relatives from Indonesia drive all the way from where they're staying in Napa for this, over $800 for 8 people and it was just not good this time. Definitely not worth even half that much. The premium items from the diamond tier menu were limited to 1 order, even though we had 8 people. Although none of it was good anyway so I didn't want to order any more. And I think the order limit was the same with more people. The portions also felt small. I feel like more people should get a higher limit and/or bigger portion sizes. I remember getting the exact same limit with 3 people as opposed to 8. It definitely didn't help that there was no ice, the water (and everything from the fountain) was warm and the "slushies" were just warm water. The place itself was very hot, but that's probably due to a combination of the weather, barbecues, and crowd. Speaking of crowd, space is way too tight on weekends. I also think the corn cheese is too sweet and not salty enough. On the bright side, the milk tea was still good. Maybe I'll give it another shot when it's not summer or a weekend day. After coming across Chubby Cattle on a past trip down to SoCal, I was super curious about them. I hadn't been aware of them previously, but I knew I had to check them out in the future. So, it was quite the pleasant surprise when I discovered that they actually have a location in the Bay Area! However, let's all just ignore the fact that this one has been around for over a year and I somehow had no idea this was here until just recently, okay? Almost immediately after we stepped inside, the first thing that struck me was how this place is a lot smaller than it appears from outside. I imagine it's in part because the entire place is divided into smaller sections, but, regardless, it's impressive how it's not exceptionally loud and that you can't really hear neighboring tables despite how there are so many tables squeezed in here. As for the menu, they have three AYCE tiers - Silver, Gold, and Diamond. We opted to go with Diamond, which gets you two dishes per person from each of their "Specials Meats" and "Special Dishes" selections, along with everything else (Gold gets you one, Silver gets you none). With so many different cuts of beef, pork, seafood, sushi, fried foods, soups, and hot items to choose from, as well as their buffet area of sides and prepared items, we knew we weren't going to be able to try everything. Of the meats, the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Short Rib, Thick Cut Wagyu Short Rib, A5 Wagyu Brisket, A5 Miyazaki Ribeye, and A5 Wagyu Otoro Thick Cut were my favorites. Some of them were sliced a little too thin and were a bit too fatty (lots of flare ups and charring), but they were undeniably delicious. On the other end, the Wagyu Skirt Steak and Wagyu Cubes weren't as impressive, but still perfectly fine. As for the non-meats, the nigiri and handrolls were surprisingly decent for a Korean BBQ joint, as were the sliders, but skip the Karaage and Wings (they just weren't very special). As much as I enjoyed the vast majority of what we had, though, our entire group agreed that our server, Kelly, was absolutely the highlight of our meal. Not only was she really attentive, checking on us often and making sure that each round of our orders went through, but she was also super friendly and funny. Plus, we appreciated how she took the time to chat with us for a few minutes before we left, even though she was already on her break! While Chubby Cattle's prices may be higher than what you might find elsewhere, there's no question that the quality of everything here is also better, even beyond their premium cuts. What's more, the menu here just has so much more to offer, including a ton of non-alcoholic drink options that are already part of the AYCE, like sodas, black milk tea, jasmine milk tea, blue slushies, and more. If you're on a budget, though, the Gold tier is probably sufficient and Chubby Cattle offers a membership program that costs money to join, but will save you (and a guest) more in the long run by virtue of lower menu prices and a free birthday meal. All in all, FOUR AND A HALF STARS feels about right, but Kelly is the reason why it was an easy decision to round up to five. Come early! The waitlist opens about 30 minutes before opening, but get there even earlier especially on weekends. People start lining up before the waitlist even goes live. I've been a fan of Chubby Cattle ever since my first visit in Vegas, and the Pleasanton location has become a regular stop. It's definitely a splurge, but it's worth it. We always go with the Gold Tier for the premium meats, and with my Chubby Club membership, it's about $145 for 2ppl after tax (before tip). We always leave completely stuffed. Service has consistently been great. This visit, Viet was our server and did an amazing job recommending meats, keeping our orders coming, and even giving us ideas of things to do nearby since we weren't locals. My only complaint is that something always seems to be unavailable. A previous visit they were out of egg tarts because the oven wasn't working, and this time they were out of yellowtail and unagi. We've also had grill issues before that made our table overly smoky. Despite those minor hiccups, the quality of the food and service keeps us coming back. read more

I personally thought this spot was over rated but so glad I tried it! Was able to put my name down on the waitlist via Yelp because I was within the 5 mile radius. We got seated after awaiting about an hour and a half on a Thursday early dinner and it worked out great. We were initially given the bar seating but were able to get switched over to a booth because we did have an infant in a carrier with us. The actual restaurant itself is very small with limited tables and the walkway is a little bit tight so I don't recommend bringing in strollers. They do have high chairs available. My husband and I ordered the gold tier and honestly, I didn't think it was worth it. I think we could've gotten away with the lowest tier. The premium meats were limited and honestly, they tasted all right, not memorable. The Wagyu briskets were all delicious and I did love the seasoning but shortly after starting my meal, I actually started to feel a bit sick because the meat was so fatty. The meats were good don't get me wrong, but I thought overall it was all right. I however, loved the buffet option which had corn cheese, wagyu burger, curry, milk, tea, and a bunch of fruits. I was also able to order a salmon carpaccio, wagyu nigiri, and salmon nigiri, which were all super delicious and worth it itself. They also have hand rolls and I had the spicy raw wagyu hand roll, which was alright because it was a bit chewy. I love that you were able to order on a tablet which made the entire process so much easier in my opinion. Service was great despite ordering on the tablet and our tables were cleared whenever we had empty plates and our meats came out very fast. Overall, I thought the 90 minute time limit was fair and our server kept checking in to say it was last call to ensure that we ordered everything before our time ended. Stela was great and made the experience amazing! Overall, I do recommend trying to spot out at least once. I would probably return with in mind that the meats definitely get a little too fatty and have a different strategy going in next time, but overall thought it was solid since we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Our server was very attentive and when there was a delay we were compensated with some food from the most expensive tier. Booths are very spacious, music is loud but not obnoxious. Best to go on a weekday and weekends the wait time is significant but you can always check in and shop around the plaza. They have a fruit bar and some bites you can get when you first enter. In my opinion the slides are worth the try but remove the top bun, trust me you'll want to save room for all the wagyu. My favorite part was leaving full but not feeling disgusting because the meat quality is so good!! No alcohol YET but they've applied for their license. GO GO GO!! So worth it read more

Have been wanting to try Chubby Cattle for a while and decided to give it a try and use my free birthday reward and had a wonderful time! We made the drive from the Peninsula to the East Bay, and joined the waitlist at around 4:30 on a Monday and got seated about 20 minutes later. Definitely recommend coming at 4:30, because when I checked the waitlist at around 6-6:30, they were already filled up for the night. It was just my boyfriend and I dining, so we got bar seats which I thought was perfect for two people. We were pretty familiar with the format, but our server still walked us through the ordering process. The birthday reward covers one silver tier menu, but I decided to pay and upgrade to gold. I personally appreciate that everything is ordered by yourself on an iPad because you don't have to wait around to place another round of orders. If you think this is regular kbbq/jbbq, think again! For the gold tier, you get an option of a specialty appetizer and my boyfriend and I both got the lobster roll. It was pretty good for getting it at a bbq place! You also get one specialty meat, but I'm not remembering which we got. Most of the meats were delicious, but I will say some of them were a bit too salty, but I saw they had options to get the meat plain which I will definitely do next time. They have nigiri and hand rolls here that absolutely exceeded my expectations. All the fish cuts were thick and buttery. The eel handroll was one of the standout dishes for me. The menu here is impressive as you get both variety and quality, something that most places are not able to do in unison. We just had the BEST experience here!! They have confirmed Halal meat options, and not just a few, literally TONS of halal meat bbq options. They also have amazing serve yourself sides, boba tea, slushee, and ice cream bar. Their variety of foods is insane with an amazing grill (and great ventilation) in the middle of each table and an iPad for ordering all you can eat meats, nigiri, sashimi, lobster rolls, soups, you name it they have it. Vibes are on point, as soon as we stepped inside it felt like the Japanese restaurants we've visited in Tokyo. It was literally a culinary EXPERIENCE. The cuts were reallyyyy good and the sauces and sides bar had amazing options. I really enjoyed the fresh cut fruit, ice cream, milk teas, miso soup, seaweed salad, edemame, takoyaki, lobster roll, scallops, nigiri, and salmon carpaccio in addition to the BEST cuts of meat I've had to bbq. Hands down one of the best AYCE experiences I've had. The A5 Wagyu was absolutely incredible--rich, buttery, and melted in your mouth with every bite. The quality of the meat exceeded expectations, and having unlimited access made the experience even better. What really made the night stand out was the exceptional service. Solid all you can eat Japanese grill by Livermore outlets! We did the silver tier and honestly it was pretty great and had plenty more than we could manage anyway. I think only diamond and silver make sense bc gold is only ten dollar less than diamond. Our server Patrick checked in with us several times throughout our meal to make sure we were comfortable. There's also plenty of free stuff in the back like ice cream, tarts, rice, and fruits. I only have one nitpick. The place does have an odd smell when you enter. Not just smoky but like moldy towel. The hype is real with this place. For Father's Day, hubby wanted to check out this place. He's been wanting to try this place out for quite some time, and we happen to be in the area today. We arrived mid-day and the reservation portal was already closed. So he decided to wait until the evening waitlist opened. The wait is no joke, I overheard someone mention coming at 9:30AM to wait for a spot. Anyway, the wait is long but there's plenty to check out in the plaza, and this restaurant is new the San Francisco Premium Outlets. Upon entering you're drawn in by the fast-paced EDM music and the beautiful space made to feel like you're transported to a Japanese food alley full of stalls. There is also bar top seating for individuals and couples. We were seated and greeted by our very sweet server, Van, who walked us through the ordering system. She was also very kind to offer help with cooking the premium meats. The selection was quite impressive and offered a wide assortment of offerings. The range included already prepared foods like: karaage chicken, lobster rolls, hand rolls, Chawanmushi style egg, bibimbap, salads, fried dumplings, and dessert mochi. The experience also included a veggie/fruit/prepared sides along with self-serve soda, a slushy station, soft-serve, and portioned rice machine. I was so impressed with the spread. Look... I'm all for being patient and waiting in line for something good, but I wasn't prepared for a 4 hour wait. We got there 11:10am so 20 minutes before opening and we didn't get seated until after 3pm. We made the drive there so we figured we'd commit to our decision and see if the 4.8/5 star rating is worth it. Food was fine, nothing super memorable. And definitely didn't feel justifiable for the price and the wait. The premium meats were obviously good, and once you're out of those depending on your tier, the meat is tough and chewy. You order on an iPad and honestly, I don't know if they actually brought out what we ordered (one order they missed some dishes, another order it seemed they gave us lamb instead of beef). When we got the bill, the waiter pushed the membership which appears as a discount, but really you're spending the same amount of money regardless. It's all confusing and you feel pressured to sign up. Unless you plan on coming back a lot, I'd skip it. Overall, I'm surprised this place has 4.8/5. That's a bit inflated in my opinion. read more

Me and my friends have been wanting to come here for MONTHS now! We were finally able to come on a Monday in July. To our surprise there was a crowd of people waiting out doors! Our wait was about 30-45. Although, I can say that the wait was totally worth it. Our server was Raymond; he was so helpful and informative. He made our first experience extremely interactive and gave us all the information to help decide our menu tier. I also went for a second time in August on a Saturday. I was worried about how busy it was going to be, but for my party of 6 people, we only waited about 15 minutes after adding ourselves to the waitlist! On that day our server was Josh. Josh was also so sweet and very helpful to my friends that hadn't been here before. He also guided me on becoming a member at chubby cattle (yes the membership is definitely worth it)! Just from my experience with our servers Josh and Raymond, I can tell that Chubby Cattle cultivates an environment where their employees are happy to be there. Their jovial service adds to the atmosphere when you're dining in. Beyond the service at chubby cattle, the food is top notch. As someone who's Japanese & has traveled to Japan, there's really not too many places where you can get beef at this quality and price. The Wagyu Otoro was one of my favorite cuts of meat. I also loved the Wagyu cheeseburgers; those were my jammmmmm. The best part about finishing the meal was that my body didn't feel heavy. I think this speaks volumes about the quality of the meat that you're eating. I will say that the nigiri and sashimi wasn't my favorite, but the unagi hand roll was pretty spot on! Wow I was completely blown away and they live up to the hype. I was unsure about the waitlist process since it appeared to change a few times and there were lots of complaints about their system. I came on a Sunday for lunch and got in line at 1030am. They open at 1130 on weekends. I was probably within the first 15 groups in line. Basically you stand in line in order to add your name to their waitlist, which they opened at 11am. You need to physically add your name to the list and then they will text you when ready. I was able to add my name by 11:15am and I was texted to come back at 11:45am. I was informed that I for the last table for the first wave. On weekdays though you were able to join waitlist online if you're within 5 miles of the restaurant. We went with the middle "silver" option and it was definitely the right choice for us. All the meats were incredible and the quality is top notch. Theres also a fountain soda bar, milk teas, salad bar, fruit, and some apps that are self service. My biggest complaint is the area is very high traffic and narrow with very little space to get in and out. They also were wiped out of most items and didn't refill quickly enough. Come hungry and bring your appetite! AYCE is never really my jam, so places like this usually come out ahead while I tap out after a round or two. That said, the selection is impressive. There's a huge variety of food options across the board. One thing to keep in mind: the wait can be absolutely unreal on weekends. If you can swing it, try visiting during off-peak hours--maybe midweek, on a school day when it's pouring rain... just sayin'. Is it worth the money, the wait, and the drive? Comme ci, comme ça. Came here on a weekend around 2pm and sadly the waitlist was closed. We came back 2 weeks later on a weekday 10 minutes before they opened and we were 4th in line on the waitlist and seated right away. Score! My first time I ate here was at one of their LA locations and was speechless. Meat quality is incredible. I knew I had to visit this one close to home when it opened. I was actually surprised seeing the inside is not as big and spacious as I thought it would be. That probably explains the crazy wait times and their waitlist closing so quick throughout the day. Just as i remembered, their meat quality is on another level. The price to eat here is definitely very pricey, but worth it. The one thing that I'd say is they were sold out of some appetizers we wanted to order from the menu, like cheese corn and one of the sushi options. An hour into eating, I also went back to the appetizer bar area to get radish paper and lettuce, and surprised to see they were completely out to restock those.. I would like to assume knowing how popular and busy they get on the regular that they would prepare enough to at least not sell out of things like that 1 hr after opening. read more
