It's been awhile since I've been to this location. This is now called Happy Lamp. I used to know it as Little Sheep, but it looks like it went through some rebranding but it is still a hot pot place. Some pros to this place is that now it is an ACYE and still has lamb options! I came here with a large party. You can make reservations in advance which is great. We were seated promptly when we arrived. However, since the party was pretty big (larger than 10), the table we sat at felt awkwardly position. It was round but it definitely has the cooking stoves in the center. It was hard to cook since we had to reach out to them, there were 4 cooking apparatus in the center. Also, this table felt very private - so there's definitely pros and cons to it since there's a barracade that enclosed it. There's also hot foods that is a self-serve buffet, this includes french fries, chicken wings, chow mein, fried rice. I didn't try the chow mein and fried rice. My kids ate the chow mein and some of the fried foods and gave my a thumbs up. They definitely enjoyed the french fries and there's also sesame ball in this hot food buffet section. There's a separate section for DIY sauce bar which has all the essential sauces I like. There's also another self-serve buffet section of raw foods which includes a variety of vegetables, dumpling, quail egg etc. The meat are ordered with the wait staff. If you order off the premium menu, it also includes some hot foods such as the lava baos which my kids adore. As for the broths, I think I'll stick the original bone marrow broth. I do feel like there's a herbal or distinct taste to the broths but it is still fine. I tried the spicy one and the tomato-based one. Although they are good, I prefer the simplicity of the broths sometimes so sticking to the original broth. I still enjoyed all the meats. I had the lamb and it was what I expected. The higher quality meats were fine as well. They do come around to refill the broth as well. As for ending the menu, there's self-served soft serve which you can put in a cone or a cup. They also have those fried dough with condensed milk which is delicious. Of note, I find the water here has a metallic taste. They also have a cold buffet where raw veggies, noodles, seafood and eggs are available. The sauce station, soft drinks and ice cream are also self-serve. We ordered the premium option and a lamb shank. I personally enjoyed the Angus Beef, Australian Wagu, fried rice, chow mein and spring rolls, it was all amazing. AYCE lunch is a crazy deal! $25.99 per adult before 3:00pm on weekdays, unless you opt out of the sauce bar which saves you $6...so you only pay $19.99. Nuts! You have 5 meats to choose from and a variety of broths. The only split pot option is for the original broth and spicy (glad we got less spicy). I personally favor the tomato broth and tom yum broth. Standards are lower since it's $19.99 AYCE, so nothing to complain about for quality of meat. The spicy beef was a popular reorder. They have a huge selection in the raw ingredient bar, and we loved the quail egg, ramen, and spongey tofu. All the veggies were fresh. Top off with soft serve (chocolate, vanilla, mixed) either in a cone or to-go cup and you basically don't even need to eat dinner. The service was pretty good and they were accommodating since we took our toddler with us. We ordered the premium all you can eat (AYCE) lunch combo, and we really enjoyed it. The premium beef and abalone were limited in quantity, but the other meats on the menu were unlimited. The soup bases were very flavorful and maintained good for several rounds of food. One thing we were not happy about was that we found a hair in one of our sauce dishes. It was quite a disgusting experience, given we ate directly from the sauce dish. When I crave hot pot, Happy Lamb is my favorite spot. I love how flavorful the bone broth soup is and my boyfriend is a spicy lover, so the half and half pot is always the way to go. The premium meat menu is worth it: we loved the 2 wagyu options, the 2 spring lamb options, the fried donut, and the sweet crispy rice cake with the brown sugar center. Off the classic meat menu, the angus beef wasn't tender and we didn't like the fish ball with roe (usually a favorite)- so skip those, but we did like the beef short plate. 2 cons: (1) for an AYCE meal that costs $100+ after tax/tip for 2, I was disappointed that they limited the amount of wagyu orders. I understand capping the amount of wagyu per round, but only 1 order the entire meal? Disappointing! (2) the restaurant completely lost power and unfortunately we weren't able to finish our meal. On top of that, there wasn't reliable cellular signal, so electronic payment was very difficult. The mild "original" broth was bland and should be skipped. Service was very attentive. Only realized it when we were done eating and went to try and get ice cream. The amount of different "balls" is great! They have fish balls, fish tofu filled with shrimp, meat balls, crab balls, pork balls, etc. They also have a lot of variety of noodles and veggies. The quality of meat is okay. Not amazing but it was pretty decent. I would have given this place 4 stars but the service knocked it down a star. Now it's extremely crowded. Over 20 minutes of waiting before a receptionist showed up. Neon birthday signs. Really, really annoying children nursery music. Kids running around. AYCE self-serving bar for anything besides beef. No more drinks, just diluted fountain soda. This model caters to Chinese immigrants, and that's exactly what the clientele has turned into. The meat is still great, but it's a little less appetizing when you have to pick up seafood and veggies fondled by everyone else, especially when you have to fight your way through a crowd every time. They got rid of some things like the lamb pancakes and lamb meatballs, but now they have fried chicken, egg rolls, and fried mochi desserts.
