I went to Cherie's when I was craving some soul food and it HIT THE SPOT. We came in it was easy to find a seat. It was my first time so we got a bit of everything. Food: The gumbo was pretty good. The catfish was AMAZING and so were the greens. The staff was very nice and answered any questions we had. There's was plenty of parking.

Cleaned plates and a to go order!

Black owned restaurants! My Academy class chose Cherie's for our 25 year reunion this past Friday. What a great decision we met there ordered and we're seated. It was great seeing the fellow and I had the catfish. One of us had appetizers like chicken, wings, and fries. Somebody else had the catfish and then other partner had the oxtails and although I enjoyed the catfish fried Excellent I mean it was not too oily not salty and just crispy and I enjoyed it with the collard greens and the sweet potatoes. I was already up on how good the oxtails were so I ordered the oxtails to go smothered. They were also delicious. Again, I would highly recommend you try this place parking is easy. It's safe. It's great location. The staff are very friendly and it's clean. It has a really positive vibe overall.

I have been wanting to try this place out. I'm glad I did! I ordered to go I had to try the oxtail with rice and gravy. It was really good. So was the corn bread. Will definitely order again! Also, tried the catfish with the greens and the candy yams that wasDelicious! My family and I agreed the fried chicken was not what we expected,it wasn't crunchy on the outside and a bit salty. But the Mac and cheese was on point. We will definitely be back to dine in hopefully the first Sunday of the month when they have a the Sunday special, the gumbo and definitely try their dessert. I wish I would've gotten a 7-Up cake, but I took a photo of it. The service was excellent. The place was nice and clean. Lots of people eating there.

OMG, I'm writing this after already having been here twice! Once by myself and the 2nd time I brought a friend! Fried catfish and smothered oxtails with greens and yams! On point, the brown butter cornbread was awesome! Forgot to take pictures of the catfish but will do next time! I did also have the peach cobbler...I prefer a flaky crust over a doughy cobbler...not a reflection of their cobbler, more about my preference. Flavor was good, just not my preference. I love that there's a soul food restaurant in Dublin at the mall...and that it's amazing! I've shared the info with friends and will for sure be back! Love the young lady at the register, very nice and friendly!

Love Love Love Love It! Very chill atmosphere. The food was so good. We all had to take it to go due to the healthy portions. I had the smothered oxtails and gumbo to go. FYI, once it's gone it's gone. The cake doesn't come out of the oven until 1pm. We got there at 12pm right when they opened. No complaints.

Southern fried chicken plate with candied yams and honey butter cornbread

Yesterday (Saturday, 4/18), my friends and I decided to have an early dinner and try Cheri's. When we walked in, the cashier wasn't very welcoming and didn't greet us. When I went to order, she seemed bothered and acted like she didn't want to be there. One of my friend's meals came out quickly, but the rest of us had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes. While we were waiting, we realized we hadn't received our drinks, so my friend asked about them. The cashier said with a slight attitude, "Oh, I'll bring them out," and then brought them a few minutes later. Our food arrived shortly after. I ordered the Southern fried chicken plate with candied yams and a honey butter cornbread muffin. The chicken and yams were good, but the cornbread was too dry. I had high hopes, but the bad service and mediocre food were disappointing.

**** SOULFUL SOULFOOD **** Sooooo good !!! I enjoyed , loved and licked my fingers (I never do this) that's how good it is. TRULY SOUTHERN SOULFOOD crunchy crispy fried catfish crispy crunchy fried chicken ALL the rave goes to the MAC n CHEEZ like it's perfectly made total old school flavor. It didn't have a hundred different cheeses. The macaroni was just right ALDENTE not over cooked or hard. The flavor just takes you back to what an old southern scoop of mac n cheez suppose to taste like. The CORNBREAD super moist , buttery just like grandma makes it. YAMS sweet and mouth watering not too much nutmeg, cinnamon or sugar. The PEACH COBBLER was the perfect ending to a southern meal. It too was reminisce of just how grandma make its. The perfect bowl of equal fruit, dough and juices. I loved it !!! PRICE: reasonable SPACE: clean and spacious PARKING: outdoor mall STAFF: very, very nice and welcoming FOOD: DELICIOUS & SOUTHERN Definitely the BEST SOULFOOD I have had from a business in a very long, long time.

Okay so first thing is, incompletely walked by the place, TWICE! I wish they had a bigger sign and unfrosted windows BUT that was where most of my complaints ended. The inside is small but still spacious. There's about 15 tables and you can push them together or take them apart if necessary. You order before sitting down and then they will bring your food to your table. They will not give you a number but they do call your name though, so make sure you're listening. I was going to get the oxtails, but they did not come With any side and with a $32 price tag, I was not willing to buy sides extra. So I settled for the fried chicken plate with macaroni and cheese and greens. The Mac was okay, I wish the cheese was more cheesy and the Mac was more together but it still had great flavor. The greens with the turkey meat were really good. Also loved the corn bread. Ordered a side just because. The pound cake was smackin. I was so mad I didn't order it up front because when I went back it was all gone I will definitely be making the trip to come try them again. Love the family feeling inside the joint.

chicken and seafood gumbo with a side of collard greens

This place has been bookmarked for a while and I finally had a chance to try it. Came here on a Sunday at 1 and it was BUSY. There were a lot of ppl when I got there and more ppl were coming throughout the whole time I was there. They have about 15-20 tables inside and only 2-3 were available. They also have a few tables outside. You order at the counter before sitting down and at times the line was almost out the door. I was debating over the oxtails or gumbo and decided to go for gumbo and a side of collard greens. It took about 30 mins for the food to come out. Not sure if that's usual or just because it was busy. But given the fact that it was busy, I could understand why it took a long time so I wasn't tripping. The gumbo was good, but the soup base was a little too thick for me and it wasn't enough rice at the bottom so I had to keep digging for some. But it was a good amount of shrimp & sausage, and good size crab leg, and the portion was big. The collard greens were good. I would order the gumbo again (after I try the oxtails) but with extra rice on the side next time!

This review is long overdue. My family loves the food at Cherie's!!!! My personal favorite are the ox tails. They are so tender and flavorful. The accompanying rice and gravy is super delish too. Great sides are the mac n cheese and the greens. They also give good portions and the service is top tier. I used them to cater a private party for us back in March. And everything was done exceptionally well for a reasonable price. I usually do takeout. But the one time I've eaten in the restaurant it was cool. Very comfortable casual setting.

Outstanding, phenomenal, exceptional, perfectly executed! Me and my girlfriend went for lunch last week and I was muy impressed. Everything was delicious, Hot, fresh and the top of what you could expect when having soul food. We got the fried chicken with Mac n cheese, yams, and greens, (cornbread included). I love that the greens are made with turkey and that the entire plate was made to order. There was a bit of a wait for our lunch and it was absolutely worth it. I will be back.

I am so glad that I came here with my friends. I saw a story on Instagram on how a son convinced his mother to start her kitchen. Because her food was so good and he was right. The location is easy to get to. It's right off of 580 in the Hacienda Crossing area by the movie. Theater, there's plenty of parking, but keep in mind that the traffic gets heavy during commute hours. I had the gumbo, and my friend had Mac and cheese with the catfish and greens. We both enjoyed our meals. The bowl of gumbo was huge enough for two people. The only con I could say about this is that I miss old-fashioned taking orders sitting at the table and having your food brought to you. This is cafeteria style, which was not a problem. Definitely will be back! The young man at the counter was very pleasant and gave service with a smile.

Ask the Community - Cherie’s Southern Kitchen

Do they serve any alcoholic drinks?

At a glance, it appears they might only serve mimosas for their Sunday brunch.

We have peanut allergies- does any of your food contain peanut oil or peanuts ? We can't wait to try your food

Hello, we do not use peanut oil, or any peanuts in our food.

I've been trying to make a reservation through the online service, and it continues to fail to reach someone. Is there any other way to contact your business to make a reservation?

There's no reservations that I am aware of. Also, don't go during rush hour. I made that mistake and they said food (even to-go) would take an hour.

How much is the Sunday brunch buffet? - Is beverages & dessert included - What food items are offered? - Is it AYCE?

We no longer serve a brunch buffet but instead a brunch menu, every first Sunday of each month.

What kind of broth is in the gravy? Chicken, shrimp or pork?

We don't use broth in our gravy, nor do we disclose our ingredients. Thank you.

How much long is the wait for the food generally? I am going to go here, but have to go somewhere afterwards, so I need to know how much time to allocate.

It took about 20 minutes for the food and we went there twice.

The cheese is rich, smooth, and perfectly melted, coating every piece of pasta without being too heavy or greasy. It's that balance a lot of places miss: creamy without feeling overwhelming. The texture is where it really stands out. The noodles are cooked just right not too soft, not too firm so every bite has that perfect consistency. And if there's a baked top layer, it adds that slight crisp that contrasts the creaminess underneath, making it even better. Flavor-wise, it's deep. You can taste the blend of cheeses instead of just one basic note. It's savory, slightly sharp, and comforting at the same time. It's the kind of dish that doesn't need extras to prove itself it already stands strong on its own. What really makes it memorable though is how it feels like more than just food. It's the type of mac and cheese that reminds you why simple dishes matter when they're done right. It's warm, satisfying, and leaves you thinking about it even after you're done. We've sat at the bar, and a booth now, and the booth is the perfect height (I'm short). Our server was very professional and nice, although tried to sell us on stuff a little too much. Apparently we went during graduation week so they were super busy, even at 830PM on a wednesday evening...and so they were sold out of their pizza dough. They said this never happens. We got two cocktails, the MIA and a Shinjuku...something one. Both were light and refreshing, bourbon based. We got the fried calamari and I didn't care for the breading. It just fell off too easily. They also padded it with fried artichoke and onions... either list it on the menu, or charge less. My partner got the burger and he loved it. The bun was sooo pillowy soft, had a lot of beefy meaty flavor, and the fries were thin, but not shoestring. Much like McDonalds. A good burger. I wanted something lighter, so I got the fish tacos. I wouldn't recommend. The sauce on the taco didn't add much to the meal. The tortilla felt like it was homemade? It was good. The fish was kinda skimpy for $22 and was fried a little darker then I'd prefer. The side salad that came with it, was just terrible in execution. I know they were trying to be artsy but they literally served whole leaves of lettuce... so I did end up using that as a wrap since I was trying to cut calories anyways but just... no. We never get dessert but got suckered into getting something anyways. We opted for the lemon blueberry bundt cake with regular vanilla ice cream instead of their default vegan version. The ice cream was good, creamy. The cake had a weird texture, it was clunky/chunky(?) instead of like a dense moist cake. I also think it would have been better if it was warm. Our bill came out to like $130.
