Do they have parking? If not how much and if they validate? Thank you!

There is street meter parking. However just across the street is a spacious garage parking that has 2 hours of free parking and even if you go over, it's not that expensive

Do you have any outdoor seating or certain times when the front doors are open for the more covid conscious? Would love to dine here!

Hi Caroline, our door can be fully slided open, so it's like an open-door situation at our restaurant. We usually keep it opened during the day time when the weather is nice out!

We both tried their chicken cutlet and vegetable curry and really enjoyed it. The chicken cutlet was crispy on the outside while staying juicy on the inside, and it paired well with the rich and savory curry. The vegetables added a nice balance and made the dish not feel too heavy. The amount of rice was also generous for the price. While I did not end up customizing my dish, I appreciate how there are many ways that one could order exactly what they wanted. Great, dependable spot for Japanese curry in the area!

Sawtelle and Ktown (the 2 locations closest to me) are both out of the way + traffic so I haven't actually had Coco Ichibanya in ages. Pork cutlet omelet curry ($18.25)-- Tastes comforting, homey... everything you want Japanese curry to be. The katsu is not exactly dry but not super juicy either? Can't beat the ones at tonkatsu places but it works as a topping for curry. The omelet was thin and wasn't anything spectacular so I wouldn't get the egg again. This place is known for its customization potential. Pick your rice portion, spice level, toppings etc... buuuut be warned that it can come with a pretty steep price tag. It'll add up pretty quick. The pickles on the table are great!! Goes soooo well with curry and helps cut the fatty/greasy feeling. Or if you're starting to get tired of the taste, have more pickles! The chili powder is good too. Tip-- FREE PARKING!! Just follow the signs for restaurant parking. The entrance is around the corner + drive 1 min further down. There's a ramp to enter. Take the elevator up and you'll be where the restaurants are. They'll validate the parking slip. To get down, just go back to the same elevator (insert slip to scan or else elevator button won't work). Japanese curry is just one of things you have to be in the mood for. If you're craving then this will definitely be the spot for you. Otherwise it'll be kinda meh so just depends on you! Free parking in this area is a great bonus though.

At 6pm, we were only 1 of 2 parties; by 7:30pm, all the inside & outdoor patio tables were filled except for a couple. A large party made the indoor atmosphere pretty loud, but after they left it was easy to have audible conversation. Several people came in to pick up to go orders while we were there. Service was really warm, food came out so fast & everything was DELISH: Beef bowl - marbled beef cooked w/onions on rice. So tender & flavorful! Spicy tuna bowl - spicy tuna over rice, with a wasabi ponzu sauce. Yum! Albacore hand roll - fresh & buttery Eel hand roll - melt in your mouth delicious We were there early so it was easy to find parking at a meter. I can see why they get such consistently great reviews! I'll be back to try their yummy looking udon dishes. Highly recommend!!

Instead of the traditional nori typically used for handrolls, they served a salted, crispy version. While some diners may enjoy the added texture, it wasn't quite for me. It reminded me of the seasoned seaweed used in Korean kimbap--similar to what I buy at Costco and use at home--which took away from the experience I expect from a classic handroll. The fish itself was fresh and above average, especially considering the lunch special pricing. Overall, it was a solid meal, but if I order this again, I would definitely request traditional nori to better complement the quality of the fish.

There are so many possible substitutions and ways to customize your meal to what you like. I ordered the croquette curry and my partner got the menchi curry. He felt the menchi was decent and I really liked mine. Their croquettes are nice and flavorful. The curry has a nice balance of flavors in it, though the mild was even a tiny bit spicy for me. The side order of cabbage with a creamy sauce helped a lot. We also both enjoyed the side salad with sesame dressing. It was a little sweet and a nice addition to the meal. Next time I may do a miso soup! The price is also very fair for the amount of food and quality. I left feeling very full and satisfied with the experience. Highly recommend.

There is street parking around the area but they are paid meters. Cutlet is cooked well with a nice crisp that both my husband and son liked. For spice levels, you can get Mild to extra hot. I get extra hot because I like spicy and its not as spicy as getting spicy at a Thai restaurant so if you can handle spicy then extra hot will be easy. There is a self service water station and the workers check on if you need any refills for drinks purchased. I did have to ask for the radish and then they brought out a good amount for us in a bowl. Theres a TV on the inside and for those watching soccer now, you can catch the game while eating your meal. Outside seating is nice and refreshing but can get a bit windy depending on the day.

When we visited I noticed a good amount of tables, but there was only a couple dining in other than us. I know this is a popular spot because I kept hearing the DoorDash sound go off. The inside of the restaurant looked pretty clean, you're also able to see most of the kitchen so you know food is being prepped in a clean environment. There was a gentleman helping us with our order and he was very friendly. The katsu I ordered was delicious. My son opted for the vegetarian route and his protein was a mushroom. I actually liked everything we got, but the boy was disappointed with the mushroom. He was not a fan of the slightly sweet taste. My favorite item was definitely the strawberry creme sandwich. The sandwich was not overly sweet, but it was still memorable. I would love to come back to have it again. The egg sando was a little bit of a let down for me, my son thought the same. It's actually surprising that we were not fans because both of us LOVE eggs. Definitely think you need to check this place out because that strawberry sandwich is delicious.
