It's an open setup with a couple tables inside and a couple tables outside, maybe enough to fit about 10 people, so I'd consider it a takeout spot! Seating and setting aside, the bowls are relatively reasonably priced for this area of LA, and the serving sizes were decent. Stumbled upon The Bop while washing my rugs across the street at a laundry mat. Asian food is one of my favorite genres of food, so I set to give The Bop a try. What stood out to me was that this place is a fusion of Japanese and Korean! The menu offered a variety of choices. I ordered the kimchi fried rice. Boy, I was in for a treat!!! The kimchi was spicy just at the right level! The amount of kimchi in the fried rice was perfect. The seasonings, green onions, and seaweed is also on par with the total eating experience of the kimchi fried rice. The store is mainly a small "order to go" brick and mortar. There are only two tables, so don't expect to have a dine in experience like a regular restaurant. Make sure you order your food to eat elsewhere. I appreciate the person I ordered from explaining to me about the place not being a regular sit in place to eat. So take note if you come to The Bop to get food. I got the chirashi bowl. Most of the fish had no flavor except the salmon. I had to use the soy sauce and the other sauce (ponzu?) to add flavor to the bowl. They give you 2 large chunks of each type of fish. I think I would have preferred it to be cut up more. The miso soup was a little bland but it came with the bowl, which is nice. I would have preferred the salmon bowl with all salmon instead. Note - ordering through yelp has a 20% off a $25 order. That does not work. Upon tasting the miso soup and the Dragon Don, I was bewildered on its deliciousness, 5stars for these alone. When my food was brought out, both the bowl and the complimentary miso were in paper bowls :( Misrepresentation: what was advertised in the pictures by the owner of the foods in ceramic ware but instead served in paper ware! For Me, eating in paper bowl when dining at the place, lessens the dining experience enjoyment. If I ordered it togo, so I can transfer to a ceramic dish, this food would not taste as fresh. 4 stars. The guy explained that they don't do poke, rather it's sashimi in a bowl. The bowls looked good so I ordered one with spicy sauce. Unfortunately the fish was heavily flavored with lemon, so much that it wasn't possible to enjoy the flavor of the fresh fish.
