The meat is cooked long enough so that it's very tender and they use good fatty pieces (possibly pork belly). The adobo is also good and unique. It's pretty sweet but very good and I think they use pork belly for that as well. I was there around 7pm. The food was ok. The piece of fried chicken was sitting under the heat lamp for a while. The skin was crispy hard and the meat was dry. The bbq pork ribs were well seasoned. The white rice had too much water in it and was soggy. I would have given it three stars. However, I added on a 44 oz. drink for a great price. On top of that they have Orange Bang as a fountain drink. I couldn't believe my eyes. I've eaten at a lot of places and they never have Orange Bang as a fountain drink. Finding myself in Waipahu for a reason…read more.. After visiting a nearby business and days and days and daeaaaays of rain I basically can't see outside my window even after squeegee washing my windows...it was time. Poof I see a self serve car wash called "isle wash" right beside Aloha Island Mart and decided to give it a try, no lines no fuss just me and my ride lol! With three types of wash to choose from I just chose the cheapest at $13 was still a bit high for a self serve I thought but I'm not doing this in the hot sun so here we go! Yes it's the basic wash all with a touch of a button and credit card the process was fast and easy. Did it get all my grimy dirt off my ride...yup but not all the water...infact that was the worse part and is a good thing I do carry a microfiber towel at all times so I pulled into a nearby parking lot and towel dried my car top to bottom...I probably should've gone on the freeway fast lane then have done that lol!! Since this neighborhood seems to still be growing and developing, this is a great addition. The owner was very friendly and made small talk with us while we were shopping. We learned the Poppin' Cookin' sets are very popular with the kids as well as Buldak. I loved that there were a variety of treats and flavors I've had before as well as some new-to-me options. The prices seemed right on point with what I'd expect and we had fun looking around and grabbing some quick treats.

There are a few Japanese snacks sold on the metal racks inside, along with a small amount of super cute stationery (calendars, sticky notes, and more). There is also a small fridge with a few non-Japanese drinks, like cans of Monster. At the time, there was just one man manning the store and he was pretty kind. He mentioned that this store has been open since early last year, which was surprising to me, especially since it wasn't on Yelp or Google Maps. I hope more people get to visit the shop! But then again, this is someone who used to live in Texas and needed to always have a 66° AC to someone who now lives in a space with absolutely no AC. So take this with a grain of salt. This is probably my favorite Safeway I've ever been to and I've been to several in the country during my travels. It's a shame that I only started checking in seriously this year!
