My updated review of FOUR STARS is for the store NOT pharmacy. Stopped by a few times recently and customer service was helpful and informative. Two of the cashiers gladly helped me with my "rewards" card (different visits). Another time I stopped someone in the aisle for help. She patiently helped me select a suitable, medical adhesive. I noticed she was the manager. Checking me out was such an ENTHUSIASTIC cashier! Her name is MARI! She asked me for the reusable bag I was holding and gladly put my items in it for me. Such a delightful surprise! Mari's bubbly persona made my day. This kind of customer service ignites your feeling to go back again. It was three years since I had gone to this Long's Drugs due to the dissatisfaction in their pharmacy. read more

Longs Drugs - Enthusiastic Cashier - Drugstores Near Me - PEARL CITY, Hawaii

It's a convenient place to shop if you're also going to one of the shops here like Daiso, or Ben Franklin which has an updated name. Sometimes parking is a challenge in the lot. They have photo department deals that the two Longs in my neighborhood dont offer. The layout also seems different but you can easily find your way around the store. There usually weekly sales ads you might find useful. With online shopping at Amazon it cuts down the weekly shopping visits like before. That's probably why the closest Longs to my home recently closed. You can schedule your vaccine shots here as well as pick up your pharmacy orders if it's convenient for you. read more

Shopping in Pearl City, Oahu, Hawaii... This was the closest Longs Drugs Store to my cousin's dentist. I thought that he would need a prescription filled for pain medication or antibiotics... nope! He just wanted to buy Coca-Cola on sale... but they were sold out! Shucks! The nice staff overheard us and explained that they will be getting a shipment soon, but the exact day and time were unknown. Disappointed, I reassured my cousin that we could try another Longs. I just wanted to find the KSSK Box so that I could enter the contest for the Japan cruise in October 2024. The box was at Customer service... yay! We also wanted to find the curry mix that was on sale... got it! That was an ingredient for our dinner with aunty! Longs Drugs Pharmacy in Pearl City is one of the best locations to pickup your medication. They have a good amount of staff to handle high volume pickups. They're also very helpful when needed. I love this Longs Drugs because they are open 24/7. It is so convenient especially at 5:30 in the morning. You can find everything you need at Longs Drugs. The only store open at 5:30 am is 7-11 and although 7-11 carries a lot of things Longs Drugs has much much more. My granddaughter always has to go to the bathroom in the morning while waiting for her bus and guess what Longs Drugs has a bathroom The cashier that is always there in the early mornings is very friendly and helpful. This store is super clean with wide aisle which is nice. Lots of parking with a variety of shops so all around a great store. read more

Take care of your employees and get them help! We walked in on a busy Sunday morning and immediately walked out. There were two cashiers and they were busting their butts! Lines were at least 15 ppl deep and I heard one of them say,"it's only the two of us". CVS management, you will continue to lose good staff and customers! This is not only at this location, it's at many locations. Good people are quitting or taking early retirement because they are tired and don't need this type of abuse. This CVS/Longs is located on Kam Hwy. It's conveniently located below Don Quiote and Daiso, so it's a one stop shopping with food shops and ASB in the same complex/area, and conveniently on the main highway. However, I hardly shop at this longs only because it's a little dirtier and busier than Manana Longs. It takes about an hour or more to get medication, and the lines at the cashier is long, as well as nobody really social distance since it is so crowded at times. I also don't like to park and stay too long at this longs or DQ late at night because of the drug/vagrant activity around the parking lot area. read more

Losing my patience for this location, which I used to love because I am a neighbor over 20 years or so. This is my "go-to" longs. However, the event happened this morning made me decide to leave some comments on Yelp. I had a vaccine appointment at 8:00am this morning. They requested the customer to arrive 5 minutes before to check in. So I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time. Here 8:00am, the female pharmacist came out with some yellow baskets with vaccines and started to call the customer's names. She called all others at least 5-6 people except me. Even the senior guy checked in after me was called and finished his vaccine before me. This female pharmacist skipped me and made me wait for my term and went back to behind the counter. No explanations when this was happened. So it was already 8:15am. Then they made me wait for another 5 minutes. Finally the nice young woman (not pharmacist), who was very apologetic to make me wait for a long time, gave me a flue shot. She explained to me that the pharmacist decided to give all senior (over 65 years old) Covid and flu shots first. So I had to wait to get my only flue shot about 20 minutes. I came in 10 minutes before the appointment time. so I had to wait for total 30 minutes to get only one flue shot. Ridiculous. This young employee told me that all were scheduled at 8:00am. I was puzzled. I could come earlier or later for not waiting for 30 minutes. . One of them schedules me when I stopped by last time. Apparently they do not care about the customers personal schedule for the day. I also want to mention that this store is always extremely understaffed. The lines for the registers are always super long. I always give a manager feedback thru "1 minute feedback" by email. Also suggested to install some self check out machines. But the answer was that the company didn't approve due to geological reason. (If I remember correctly) Everytime I come to shop here, the first thing I see is the looong line for the gash register. Last time, I saw the line from the parking lot, I turned around. The managers are nice enough to respond to my feedback but nothing is changed so far. I just feel reluctant to visit this store recently. Need to find another location which is managed efficiently. (The most of employees are nice and friendly at this Pearl city store that's why I still go back to shop for this moment). This is a complaint regarding your location at 850 Kamehameha Hwy, Pearl City, HI. Despite receiving all 3 of my prescriptions, the pharmacy staff kept making up excuses not to fill my prescription which seems illegal. I ended up having to have them transfer the prescriptions to a Walgreens for pickup the next day due to their giving me a hard time as a customer. All 3 prescriptions were lawfully prescribed and there was no valid reason for them not filling the prescription. read more

It's a Monday following their coupon book being released so I know the store will be busy...abd this particular location is a magnet for older retirees and mature people so they (we) shop early in the day. But only two cashiers? Really? Lines were long...but that wasn't my issue. My issue is that a cashier called in the intercom for managers to come & ring. I got the grouchiest, most rude AF manager. I bought ONE thing - one. Had my coupons, but she VERY rudely said, "You cannot use these - it's not yours". I apologized - gonna have to consolidate two accounts associated with cell numbers instead of landline, but explained I still had a 25% off coupon online. She again was rude AF saying, "Wait - you can use this $1 off too, but rest if these NO". My one item was $30 so I'll take whatever (plus it expires today), but geez - why so RUDE? I know your store underperforms and you can't keep cashiers at this store, but that's not MY problem. Get training on being pleasant or find a job that you don't need to deal with the public. Pretty cool store to shop at. It's open 24/7 which I like because most places close early on a weekday. I like to buy some drugstore makeup from here too. They carry one of my favorite foundations which is the long wear Maybelline foundation. It's good for my oily skin and stays on. Loving that. I also saw this Halloween Hello Kitty. I'm such a fan of Hello Kitty. All my friends and coworkers know I love Hello Kitty. I was tempted to buy it. It was almost $30. It's only once a year Halloween comes. We also buy random snacks, drinks and food items here. They also sell over the counter medicine which is nice just in case we need a fever reducer. I definitely like how fast the lines go. Not too bad depending on when you come here. Better to come at night but not too late. Plenty of parking up front of the store. There also other stores surrounding it. I really don't frequent this Long's location at all. The very few times I've gone in, I just get what I need and go. Its not the easiest for me to navigate since I'm not use to their layout. The only reason I would stop in here is if I'm getting a drink or snack on my way to Ben Franklin. And now that there's a Daiso nearby, they have all that and more at a fraction of the cost. They asked if i wanted the flu shot... after waiting they said the computer wasn't working and to come back... 3 days later they called me to verify my insurance and ok to get my flu shot. Went there, they said 1/2 hour wait, 20 minutes later, they said it will be another half hour wait... then they had us fill the paperwork after waiting the 30 minutes. 1 hour plus waiting after i got there, finally got my 2020 flu shot. Pharmacy is slow. I had a prescription transferred at 7:00am and called before coming in at 1:00 but waited 7 minutes for no response. Then I waited 15 minutes to be told they didn't have my prescription and the system was down, but somehow they got the transfer notice. The technician did pull out my prescription. Not sure how you can get the notice it was transferred and pull it up but not get it to the store. I asked to talk to the pharmacist and she wouldn't come to the consultation. So I called kaneohe CVS which they always answer their phone and told them the problem. The pharmacist there said he would call and try work out the problem. Literally 3 minutes after I hung up, they paged me to the consultation, where I was waiting the entire time, to come and pick up my prescription because it was ready. Im surprise that the pharmacist did not come when I wanted to speak with her. I don't recommend coming here to pick up any prescription. I will end it with a positive that a worker asked me if I was looking for anything, before I went to the pharmacy and she helped me find an item I was looking for. My experience at longs drugs was horrible. The pharmacy technician helping me when I went there to pick up my dad's prescription drug was not friendly. She was having a horrible day. She didn't smile or look satisfied with her job. Her attitude was i wanna to finish my shift already. The cashier who ranged me up at check out was lil bitchy. I saw her baby bump so she was appeared in her third trimester. She asked me if I had a different longs extracare card because she said it didn't match, but I didn't have another card with me. She looked at me like whatever then and let it through. No smile or even have a good day after the receipt printed out. You must really hate your job as well. None of the cashiers said welcome or anything when customers walked into the doors. Monday must be a day where people hate to come in for work or something. This Review is specifically for the Pharmacy inside this Longs. I've had numerous bad service at this Pharmacy, but yesterday's visit 7/7/22 was the last straw. I've always told my parents to send their prescription to another pharmacy because we always encounter issues here. We like to call and make sure the prescription is ready here because numerous time they say it is and when we get there it's not ready or they're doing it now. This particular visit, I went to go pick up medication for my mom. There was no line surprisingly so I thought this would have been quick. When the person went to go look for the medication she couldn't find it. So she started looking through all the medications for it. She seemed flustered and apologized and said to give her some time, which I did. After about a good 15 mins, she comes back and says "I can't seem to find it" so then I ask what are my options, to which she responds with "ummm" and turns around to continue to look. She then ask for help with another lady next to her, she seems to not even care and says "just write it down and leave it here, we don't have time to go looking for it". Like okay cool, my mom needs that medication. They couldn't even offer to remake it since the meds cannot be refilled again. So the lady said to check back tomorrow, but excuse me you were the one's who lost it, shouldn't you be the one to call us to inform us instead of wasting our time to come back to check if you found it or not. Never sending prescriptions to this location ever again! read more

Worse store ever! Called one night to see if they have blackberry crown because a lot of the store no have. The first time I called I asked if they have and the lady I'll transfer to the manger and then hang up on me called again and I asked him to hold it for me fire the next day. When I picked it up they never checked my id they just ask for my birthdate I just showed them my id even though they asked for my birthdate. This is specifically for the pharmacy. I get several prescriptions here a month for my patients there is 1 worker in particular that's very rude and has a bad attitude. I've reported her several times and nothing has happened I even spoke with the other workers too and they all agree this worker Ashli is very rude but nothing happens to her even when they bring up complaints too. If there was another pharmacy near by that's was also 24 hours I would transfer my patients so damn fast just because of this worker. read more

This Pearl City Longs is like any other. I haven't come to one that has excellent customer service. It's not bad, but it's not great either. The best thing is that it's 24 hours. The parking here had a bad reputation, especially at night with break-ins. I haven't experienced anything, but just be careful. read more

This particular location has been here forever and to be honest, it still kinda looks the same as it did 20+ years ago. It does not have the modern feel like Walgreens, but that is fine by me as they open 24hrs and that makes things very conveinient when I want to avoid the daytime or weekend crowds to shop, as it is pretty peaceful here after 9pm. I really do not know how the pharmacy team keeps their sanity, as they are always busy, yet they are still cheerful to customers (well at least they are to me... Lol..). I just wish that the pharmacy text that we receive is more accurate, as I have received texts in the past where I went to Longs to pick up medicine and they did not even realize that I was tild to come down to the store because the text stated that a prescription was filled and was ready to pick up. This Pharmacy has got to be the worst Longs in the State of Hawaii...Pearl City store. Management must know that the evening crowd is constant. I blame management....not enough people cashiering,, long lines, s l o w. I had to have a prescription filled by Urgent Care. They sent me there because Pharmacy is 24 hours. The Pharmacist looked haggard, the workers behind the counter in Pharmacy looked stern and unfriendly, especially Pattie...I think that was her name....very stern, unsmiling, abrupt. There was just ONE younger gal that was pleasant, although I could see the c customer service issues was getting to her. I never realized the constant stream of people...and they kept coming. Pattie had to check for my prescription which hadn't been filled...she said they needed to work on it. She says they will page me...but they didn't. i spent 1-1/2 hrs there..and decided I had to stand in line again..a line that moved s l o w l y....terrible customer service ....MANAGER...your limited amt of workers are overworked and probably under-paid. This pharmacy always seems to be under-staffed. Long lines, long wait times regardless of what time you come in. Unfortunately not only does that affect the customers it affects the staff too. Often times they're so occupied running register, taking prescriptions, doing paperwork, answering phone, it's easy to see them stressed out. I came to get my grandmother's flu shot done. First thing is I didn't know they did flu shots at this location. Usually go to the locations that have the minute clinic. Turns out is the When there's no minute clinic at the location the pharmacist does it. I feel for them really because it is a lot for them to do. For immunizations I suggest you go to a Longs/CVS that has a minute clinic. Since it is separate from the pharmacy, and you can make a appointments for immunizations. Small kind tip: to lessen the stress on the pharmacy staff. It's usually easier for them if you have your doctor call in you meds or to escript it. read more

The pharmacy customer service is terrible. Frequently I call the pharmacy ahead of time to see when my prescriptions will be ready. The pharmacist on the phone always has a rushed way of getting the information to me. Their attitude's and tone of voice are always so rude and grouchy, they make you feel like you're an idiot for calling. read more

BEWARE!!!!!!!! This store is dangerous; for returns without receipt they want to scan the back of your drivers license which holds lots of personal information including your social security no. Or they want your passport and they want to type into their register all your information from passport including all the passport numbers. Why do they need all this personal information when you are returning something "DEFECTIVE" that they sold you with MOLD growing in bottle way before the product expires (4/29/2024). This is my home base Longs, I think everyone who grew up in Hawaii has a home base Longs. You know the one where you know exactly where everything is placed. When you go to a foreign Longs it just doesn't feel comfortable. Well this being my home base Longs it pains me to shoot out a 1 star but just had to share this experience. Most of my other experiences here are fine, I'm hoping they check their social media reviews in order to use this as a teachable moment. Standing in line today, I didn't notice until we were next in line that our cashier (Michael) was sneezing and sniffling with some vigor. Not like one and done, but that thing people do when they are trying to keep the mucus from flowing from their nose. Anyway, I proceed to watch as our cashier (as he's ringing up our items) kept rubbing his nose as he was doing the nasal suck (you all know what that's like right? Normally practiced by pre school and early elementary students where one uses the back of their hand rubbing it against the nose at the same time trying to inhale through that same nostril). He would then proceed to grab the next item on the belt to scan. He stopped several times to give his eyes a vigorous rubbing just for good measure. Yikes, I really hope I do not get sick in the next couple days or I am laying the blame on Longs! My point is Longs (and CVS) brands themselves as not only your neighborhood pharmacy but also specializing in retail health care with their minute clinics, vaccines, etc. In my opinion, a health care centric company should instruct their employees on the proper way to avoid spreading germs to their customers. I'm not a germophobe by any measure but this was a little extreme. If the employee didn't know or realize what he was doing, some of the other employees or manager should have taken notice. At one point another employee had come over and they were conversing which the sniffling and sneezing was still happening. The Long's Drug Store in Pearl City still doesn't have a clue about customer service. I used to come here years ago, but got tired of waiting so long for prescriptions to be filled. Silly me for giving Long's another chance. After waiting 10 minutes, just to drop-off a prescription, I gave up. This is a 24 hour store and pharmacy. I have been here several times after late night emergency room visits to pick up prescriptions. Since the pharmacy has a phone text system, I drop off my rx and will either walk around or go to Sanki or Daiei upstairs until I get a text to come back and pick up my prescription. They accept many insurance companies, I just pay my payment and they do the rest. The shelves here are well stocked. Unless there is a hot coupon deal going on, which the extreme couponers will clear the shelves, there is plenty in stock of everything for your house. Sales are great. CVS rewards are awesome. Time the sales and the coupons and you can score. read more

I have been going to Longs in Pearl City my whole life. Mostly, with my family. Now-a-days I go if I need to get anything at the pharmacy.I have never liked the parking lot. It is always so congested and so busy. It makes finding a parking spot while baking in the hot sun feel like...trying to find a parking spot while baking in the hot sun. I remember before they remodeled the store it used to be even more congested in Longs. But since their remodel it's less busy (or maybe I'm just not there at the times they're busy). The people are nice. I've always received good customer service...in person. I say that because whenever I call, they always take a long to answer. Always busy, perhaps? Still, you should never have someone (let alone a customer) be on hold for 10 minutes. They are opened 24 hours so you could go when there's zero traffic...I mean where else do you have to be at 2 am? Def. not sleeping. read more

This review is about the pharmacy department. I needed to pick up a prescription so I called them first to confirm but no answer after 2 tries. So I figure they're busy. When I get there, there was a line at 8pm at night. Soon enough, I was the next person in line. Yay! The pharmacy clerk who was helping me had the hardest time finding my prescription. She was very polite and apologize for the delay. She hinted me that the pharmacist didn't put in the right place. Life would be perfect if we all could work together eh? read more

I shop at Longs Drugs at least once a week and get my prescriptions filled there also. My wife and I had a long shopping list for Longs Drugs after looking at the Sunday ads and decided to go the the Pear City branch so we could shop at Don Quixote also. When we got there we noticed there were no shopping carts at all. I walked through the parking lot to hunt down a cart but there was none. I then noticed several shoppers waiting at the entrance for carts. I noticed in the past that this Longs was short on carts but today was ridiculous. Longs wasn't even that busy and they couldn't provide enough carts. Needless to say we left without shopping because we had a lot to buy. We ended up at another Longs later in the day. I will probably avoid this Longs in the future. read more

Longs Drugs is like the Zippy's of drug stores, so many location, constancy is products, service and local feel. The Pearl City branch is been home for me since I moved homes in 1990. I enjoy the workers effort to give me a good customer experience. I just ding it one star because when CVS took over the product selection changed. Those unique buys they used have changed, but thank goodness their still in business and open. I'm grateful for them during this pandemic and wish all the workers good health and safety as they helped me being healthy. read more
