Couple of weeks ago I got an invitation card in the mail to celebrate one of my friends' daughter's child's 5th birthday party. At first when I opened the mail, I was surprised that this lovely Chuck E. Cheese was still around after so many decades. At least 3 that I can recall. We had our son's very 1st birthday party right here at this Chuck E. Cheese and my late mother in-law practically invited the whole entire universe when It should have been more of a family gathering. Moving on with the birthday. It was a small gathering party of 15 kids and adults together. They ordered 3 different kinds of Pizzas, 2 big salads, 2 pitchers of Coke and Lemonade, and 2 orders of Chicken Wings. They had a lot of entertainment including Chucky himself. He was a lot of fun to watch and take photos of. Kids and adults were playing in the playground and some on their arcades. Including myself. They also have large cookies and Dippin dots for dessert. Since they had their own cake, they didn't get any dessert. Everything went flawless, we all had a fun time and the food tasted fresh, hot and delicious. Nostalgia.. Service by Emily and Ana was superb! Place was clean and so were the bathrooms.. They have an ample parking lot. They have 3 different packages and you get to choose which one sooth your budget. They stamp your child's and your hand for safety purposes. Cheese Location: 8425 Reseda Blvd I've been a customer at this location for over 10 years, and this recent visit on 04/28/2026 at 3:41pm was extremely disappointing compared to the standard this store used to maintain. Several operational changes have significantly reduced convenience for families. The EasyNap napkin dispensers have been removed from tables, forcing customers; especially those with kids eating greasy food... to repeatedly go to the front counter or salad bar area just to get napkins. This is a clear step backward in customer convenience. The removal of the black trays previously provided with salad bar plates has also made the dining experience less practical. Without trays, carrying multiple items safely and cleanly back to the table is noticeably more difficult and has led to more spills and mess in the dining area. There is also a large sticker placed directly on the glass display blocking visibility of the salad bar, which negatively impacts presentation and the overall dining experience. In addition, the salad bar area appeared less maintained than in the past, with visible spills on the floor likely due to guests navigating without trays. While some cosmetic updates to the restaurant and games are appreciated, they do not compensate for the loss of basic functional amenities that previously made this location family-friendly and efficient. The service experience during this visit was also concerning. While cleaning up, I attempted to return a napkin container that was already full and had stated I was returning it myself. An employee named Sam insisted on taking it, ignored my response, and walked away without acknowledgment. What followed was even more unprofessional: I observed her make eye contact with another employee, Alisa, and both appeared to laugh, which came across as dismissive and disrespectful toward customers. Additionally, at the front exit, there was no staff present to check stamps or monitor exit control, and guests were able to walk out freely without any verification. This reflects poorly on basic store oversight and consistency. Overall, this visit did not reflect acceptable service standards for a location that has been operating in this area for years. Between the removal of basic customer conveniences and multiple service failures in a single visit, the experience felt disorganized and poorly managed. I hope corporate takes a serious look at both the operational changes and staff conduct at this location, as this level of decline is noticeable to long-time customers. read more

I can't even remember the last time I was at a Chuck E. Cheese and I must say this visit back was fun! I came here with my three year old and there was a fair amount of things for him to do, though I do think the arcade may be better suited for kids who are a couple years older. He still had a blast! We came around 11am on a Saturday and it was pretty chill, even with a birthday party going on. The parking lot is TINY so plan ahead. The facility was clean and all of the games were in operation. It wasn't over crowded, but it was overwhelming in the sense that it is LOUD. Music blaring constantly which definitely gives a party vibe, but on top of all the kid and arcade game noise, it's a a lot. It was very easy for us to get a table and put our stuff down while the kids played. I was not mad at the pizza! I liked the crispy thin crust and how it was seasoned. The fries were a total pass. Floppy and cold. I wasn't interested in the salad bar, but they did have one available. I would totally explore hosting a birthday party here in the future. It seems super affordable and they have a lot of coupons and specials if you look in the app. For some reason I thought Chuck E. Cheese had indoor play structures but maybe that is a thing of the past? At least this location didn't have one. But they DID have the old school animatronics! Honestly that was why we came. They were so fun to watch and perfectly quirky. My son couldn't have cared less, but I was highly amused! They didn't check our hand stamps on the way out which is concerning, since it's supposed to add another layer of security I think? The staff wasn't the friendliest, but that wasn't a big issue. You go to another game win 5 tickets, great, maybe you're lucky and skilled enough that You hit a bonus on another game, awesome you win 20 tickets. You get to the prize counter and prizes are like... 250 tickets! WTF! My kid wanted a lolly pop and it was 60 tickets!!!! You see, I picked Northridge specifically because of the animatronics but we'll get to that later. First, the games. Now, the game amount is JUST right. I mean, two rooms of games is more than enough! And, they picked the best games as well so shoutout to whoever thought of buying the games specifically. Oh, and we can't forget the main part of this review: The animatronics. Yes, this store does indeed have animatronics. It's so cool :). At the 2.0 stores the playground and trampoline take up all of the space and it's good to finally see the animatronics after all this time. Super FuN TiME! We were so excited to see the fully functional animatronics. Many employees were mediocre on our first visit. They did a better job on our second. We had told them we had come a super long distance just to see their location because they are one of the only ones in the entire country where the animatronics have a guaranteed permanent residency. Another family from Texas was there too. They had come all the was from Houston as their family had children that were also Chuck E Cheese "superfans." We stayed about 3 and 1/2 hours total. We were so disappointed that the animatronics did not seem to perform with any regularity at all. We had to walk up and prompt them/ask for the animatronic band to play each and every time. Also, the first three times they played, they played the same song about "Sparkles." This was so annoying that my little one finally asked management, "Can they play anything else, or is this the only song they can play?" Management assured us they could play other songs, & the last two times we heard them play, they did play "Together We've Got It" and "Perfect Day." Those were a refreshing change. The sound coming from the animatronic band performances was very muffled and much quieter than the other songs played on the televisions throughout the restaurant/throughout the day. I'm not sure why. Wish they could play the band's performances out the same speakers. There was a super kind and friendly gentleman who was working the tech room/maintaining all the video games. I wish I had gotten his name. He appeared to be of Asian decent. He was kind enough to let the children take a look at all the cool stuff he had back there in his tech room which, to the children, felt like an amazing behind the scenes tour. :-) Chuck E. Cheese, himself, came out very frequently ... more so than any other Chuck E. Cheese we had been to. Each time, he walked the full length of the restaurant so every patron was sure to see Chuck E. He also played a few games with the kids including, but not limited to, Full Tilt & Big Bass Wheel. Top notch 5 star Chuck E. experience, for sure. This Chuck E. was not rushed, and he made sure anyone who wanted a hug or a photo had an opportunity to feel satisfied, special, and fulfilled. They place was quite enjoyable though they had gotten rid of the C1 artwork, and apart from the animatronics being present and the amazing walk-around Chuck E. (who did far and away exceed our expectations), the store, itself, was really just like any other C2. I don't think the staff realizes what a big deal it is just to have made it to their location. If they did, I think the counter staff would try harder to make it feel special. I hate being disappointed in staff's lack of enthusiasm. The lady at the front was more interested in seller me a Summer Fun pass, when she already knew we held the monthly Gold Membership, than she was in making the visit magical for the children. Big mistake - HUGE! It should ALWAYS be about the MAGIC and pleasing the children, without exception, because without the magic, it's really just another "pizza place," right? Floor is unusually sticky by sodas and In restroom. I would think that could be easily addressed though. I noticed other patrons mentioned this issue in prior reviews too. We would definitely go back. Parking is a little difficult for an oversized vehicle so be forewarned you may need to find street parking a few blocks from the restaurant. Editing to add a couple of bits from a second visit we made within the same week. On our second visit, it was a Sunday so we were able to utilize the bank's parking lot (for our oversized vehicle) because they were closed on Sunday. Also, the employees seemed much nicer and happier today than the ones they had working just a few days ago. There was one gal (who had been on that first day we were there) who remembered us. That was impressive and encouraging. This weekend day was far busier than when we visited mid-week, and the animatronics played more regularly this time, without our having to be a bit in the side of management. I simply asked if Chuck E. was going to come out for the kids, and instead of receiving a polite answer, the manager Ruby yelled cutting me off while I asked and cussed at me I was shocked by how rude and unprofessional she was--completely unacceptable behavior, especially in a family-friendly environment. This kind of treatment is not okay. Parents bring their kids here to have fun, not to be disrespected by management. Do not play their claw machine game unless they have recalibrated it as it cannot support the weight of the items it grasps. This clearly goes against the California department of consumer affairs as the manager refused to try the machine herself or offer to recalibrate it. This review is for the re-grand opening event on 11/10/23. As a child of the 80s, I have fond memories of Chuck E. Cheese, having had many birthday parties there. (Chicagoland area) The pizza, the games, Chuck E. and of course, the animatronic band. When my wife and I heard that the Northridge location was getting a remodel and Nolan Bushnell was going to be there we were curious to see the new remodel and hopefully met a social icon. Despite the hour wait in line, the staff was nice by handing out chocolate and vanilla cake, posters, and a commemorative pin to all the guests waiting. We took our 4yr old to the grand reopening, this location was said to be like a Chuck E Cheese time capsule from the 80's, before the remodel. We were excited to see it. When we finally got inside we were seated front and center of the animatronic band, best seats in the house. A life-sized Chuck E. Cheese also made appearances throughout the event dancing and playing with the kids, and creating a memorable experience for our daughter. We spent about $60 on a large pepperoni pizza and two adult beverages. The pizza was good, and was big enough for three. The pizza did take about 45min, because of the size of event. They have a selection of four beers on tap for $9.99 each, plus alcohol tax. (I think the prices of beer differ per location) Most of the guests were eating pizza. Also, the salad bar seemed popular with the adults. The remodel marks the end of animatronic bands at the other locations. The re-opening party featured appearances from Chuck E. Cheese founder Nolan Bushnell and current CEO David McKillips. Unfortunately, Nolan Bushnell left early before we could get a photo with him. This re-grand opening event was from 6-8pm on 11/10/23 they offered free cake, a special performance by the band, and a free collector's poster, and pin. The first 25 families also received one free hour of All You Can Play time at the arcade. The nostalgia as I remember of Chuck E. Cheese lives on in this revamped and modernized location. For those with allergies, take note: Families with food allergies should be aware that this location does not allow reasonable accommodations for medically necessary dietary needs. Very disappointed with this location and will not be returning. We drove over 30 miles for the nostalgia of the animatronics we'd heard were still here. This location/parking lot are both small and it is chaotic and cramped inside. As pass members, we frequent Chuck E. Cheese often and have visited numerous locations across Southern California. However, I recently developed severe food allergies, one of which is to tomato and tomato-based products. While I always purchase food for my family when we visit, I personally cannot eat there. In the past, managers have told me it was fine to bring in my own allergy-safe food as long as I notified them, which I always do. Today, at the Northridge location, that was not the case. Shortly after getting our arm stamps, entering and browsing the menu, a staff member rushed over, blocked us, and insisted that outside food wasn't allowed, attempting to usher us out. I tried to explain my allergy situation, but she was being directed by another worker at the register who insisted it was not permitted under any circumstances. I had a single meal for myself that fit in a paper bag. I didn't mind eating in the car if needed, but the worker wouldn't even allow us a moment to decide which adults would stay with the kids and what food to order for them. Her tone and urgency were unnecessarily harsh and unwelcoming. Nothing was mentioned at the front entrance, nor was there any posted sign regarding outside food. A little customer service and understanding would have gone a long way. We would have happily stayed and made adjustments if the situation had been handled with respect, even if that meant splitting up and me sitting in a hot car to eat. Food allergies are a medical condition, not a preference, and I hope this location considers training staff to handle these situations with greater awareness and compassion. Recognizing allergies as a necessary accommodation, not an exception, helps ensure all families can visit safely and feel included. Thankfully, other locations such as Burbank and Cerritos have been kind, understanding, and accommodating and they'll continue to earn our business, unlike this one. read more

Came for a birthday party. My daughter is 7 so for her age range this was perfect. She can pretty much play on her own, which is nice. There are 3 sections of games/fun - one small section for toddler ages, and 2 sections for kids a little older. The party host did the unlimited card option which was great because it kept the kids entertained the entire time and my daughter had more than enough tickets to trade in for little toys and candy at the end. The host ordered pizza for the group. My daughter enjoyed the cheese pizza and I enjoyed the vegetarian. The pizza was really good - nice crust with a garlic flavor, perfect amount of cheese and veggies. There was also a veggie platter with tomato, celery, carrots and broccoli and the veggies all looked fresh. Chucky came out for the birthday fun and danced with the kids. It's located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant and play areas looked nice and clean. We attended a birthday at this location, and unfortunately, they didn't have anything my son could eat due to this allergy. The birthday was a lot of fun, though, so I thought I would book a party for my own son. I read their FAQ and understood that I could bring food for my son (not anyone else) due to his health condition. For Sunday Funday I decided to take my 10-year-old here. We had a Groupon for two 1-hour all you can play passes, plus a large 1 topping pizza, and 4 drinks. We came at 2pm, just in time for the animatronic show! Low-key, I had wanted to come here for my own bday a few weeks earlier for nostalgia purposes but had to work. It was just as I had remembered it! The live shows are like 5 mins every 25 mins, but the TV's will take over with lots of original songs by the rat crew and friends. 2pm was honestly not as crowded as I thought. There was no wait, we walked right up to the nice cashier who explained how to use the play cards, which I was thankful for. The pizza came out within 10 minutes and was delicious! The soda area was a bit sticky, but that was to be expected at a children's entertainment restaurant. We ended up using only one card at a time and played for two hours strong! My 5 year old loves this place. My 3 year old is scared to death of it. My wife and I get headaches from all the noise and always leave hungry after disappointing pizza. I understand that 2 people in their late 30s are not their target demo, but I wish they would take little steps like having a little more open floor space to get around without being ran over by little kids or even putting in some sound dampening things around to help keep all the screams and cries of kids from echoing inside your head. I also want to say parking here is horrible. Especially during bank hours as the bank in the same lot takes up a huge chunk of the spots near the restaurant. And those spots are so tiny that unless you're driving a Mini, you're going to inevitably park on or over the lines. Be ready to have to shimmy in and out of your car! As mentioned above, the food is...fine. It's no as bad as I remember it when I was a kid, but it definitely does taste like cheap ingredients. The best thing I've had here are actually the wings. They're the most passable thing on the menu. I take my kids to indoor playgrounds a lot and this one is by far the best deal. 50$ for two months unlimited entry and you get 40 games each time you come in and 20 percent off food and drinks. Cheese location does get really busy and is not that big. I did have another issue the previous time I came here. I left half my pizza on the table and they decided to come clean up my table and when I asked for a replacement for the pizza they took, they asked me how many slices were left on the pizza that they took then they gave me a smaller pizza. Food prices are way overpriced. Icing to charge 21 bucks for like 30 fries and a tiny pizza on the size of an average plate is just too much. I mean it's not that in Chuck E. We came early June for the first time since COVID. Staff was amazing! So helpful, patient and happy. Eileen was especially helpful and kind. It seems like this company spent the time during COVID closure to find and/or train great staff. Makes a big difference in the experience! First time in a long time. Brought my son a few years ago and he was too little to really enjoy anything. Now he is able to enjoy the "play all you can play" like other unlimited play arcades. He really enjoys Royce's arcades and Retro arcades so he definitely enjoyed the new changes here. Now that I know about their "play all you can play," my family and I will be back a lot. I recommend loading the card with 30-60 mins of play. I loaded 2 cards for both of my kids where you could have just used one. You can also pause 1x to eat or take a break. Playing games for tickets to exchange at the end is a nice feature as well compared to the other unlimited arcades I mentioned on top. Definitely recommend for families with young kids. read more
