My kids were invited here for a birthday party. Unfortunately, we happened to visit on one of the hottest days, and the A/C wasn't keeping up, so the party area felt uncomfortably warm. The kids were all sweating, and I asked twice if someone could turn the A/C up. After my second request, the room finally started to cool down, and we could definitely feel the difference. Despite the heat, the kids had a great time jumping and playing. A few of them ended up with minor scrapes, which isn't too surprising with inflatable play areas, but it's something parents should be aware of. After playtime, we headed into the party room for pizza and cake, and everything there went smoothly. My biggest suggestion would be to have the A/C running well before guests arrive, especially during hot weather, so the space is already at a comfortable temperature when the party begins. We recently hosted my son's birthday party at Pump It Up, and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing -- especially considering the price we paid and the expectations set by their team. The biggest issue was the service in the lunch room. We were told that the staff would help serve and organize the food and items we brought. Instead, everything was simply placed on the floor here and there with no proper setup or assistance. It felt chaotic and unprofessional, leaving us to manage things ourselves during what should have been an enjoyable celebration. To make matters worse, we paid extra for a Mickey Mouse character appearance, expecting something special for the kids. Sadly, the costume and presentation were extremely poor -- it looked like a random outfit put together at the last minute with an odd Mickey head, rather than a proper character experience. It honestly felt like an afterthought rather than a service we paid additional money for. We paid full price for the party and even added a 15% tip, so this level of service was very disappointing. I truly regret choosing this venue and, based on our experience, I would not recommend it to others. Updated review, I decided to give this place another shot since it was literally last minute my husband and I decided to throw our son a birthday party. My sister helped plan everything but it was a breeze. Head count check. The most amazing thing about this place is that they dont charge for adults unlike other places we have booked before. Kids however are the only ones accounted for with the pizza and drinks but that didn't mean we couldn't order additional pizzas or bring our own food! it was great, kids had a great time, basically having the rooms to ourselves and then at the end, we are greeted by the staff who have set up the room for our use. We have taken our kids here both for general fun time and for my eldest's birthday. Both experiences have been great and my sons have had a blast. From the street/outside, the building looks unassuming and even a bit small. But inside, it's massive with several rooms full of inflatable fun. There really is something for everyone so you're guaranteed to find a bouncer to have a blast on. I will say, however, that for the birthday party it was a bummer that they opened up one room, then after some time moved everyone in to the 2nd room, and closed off the 1st. I understand the reasoning behind that, but as my younger son only felt comfortable being on one of the bouncers from the first room, it was a shame I couldn't stay in there with him while the older kids enjoyed the larger bouncers in the 2nd room. For birthdays, the package they offer covers just about everything. They had pizza, cupcakes, and even goodie bags for the kids. I definitely appreciated not having to worry about any of those things and basically just show up at the right time and let the employees handle all of that. Speaking of the staff, they were friendly and helpful through the whole process. They were generally hands off and just let everyone enjoy their time while they prepped the other room &/or party room. I appreciated that. It didn't feel like they were breathing over us and just let us have fun with the kids. They were also able to communicate and engage with the kids in a great way that they could understand and follow. In all, if you're looking for a place to just kill a few hours at/let your kids burn off some energy or a place to have your next kids birthday at, Pump it Up is a great location. read more

So we came here last Summer for a kids birthday party. It's a large open space with multiple different themed rooms that have different jumpy inflatable houses. I will say the jumpy houses were cool. One had a basketball hoop, there were lots of slides and one of them rooms was dark with neon colors and lights. The kids were allowed to play in The different rooms for a designated amount of time, but I have no idea what those time limits were. What I did notice was there was no staff presence while in the jumpy houses. In fact, I never saw staff members between being greeted by them upon entering and when they set up for the pizza and cake portion of the party at the end. Of course the parents stepped in when there was a problem or someone got hurt. We went out front once to ask for an ice pack. There were a lot of kids there but by the time we all moved rooms each time, I couldn't find any staff members there inside the jumpy rooms. And like I said, they did show up to set up for the food part of the party but it wasn't like they were present or interacting in any way. They simply set up the plates, brought out the cake and were sort of working in the background. They were mostly teenage kids, buzzing around with their heads down but it was a little weird that no one interacted with the kids or parents. No one gave directions or instructions for any room or the food part. Anyway, the kids had fun but we felt like lemmings, being routed to different rooms for different activites. It was like the birthday girls' parents just rented the space and no one was there to monitor the huge party. read more

I give ZERO stars for the service. A bunch of kids who are poorly trained run this place. We celebrated my older kids here a few years ago and the service was great! Staff would take photos, water (we provided) was brought out for our guests, the staff nicely decorated the room with balloons and overall they were cheery and extremely helpful. This time around, the staff just turned on a safety video and just walked away. Nobody brought out waters, I had to ask for it. Staff didn't take any photos while the kids jumped and didn't even bother taking a group photo even though we asked. They just said, you guys have to coordinate that. In the party room, they just put my balloon bunch by the cupcake/favor table. I asked if they can decorate the room with the balloons. They just cut the strings from the balloon weight and it was floating around the ceiling. I had to gather them all myself and decorate the room. They didn't even bother asking if I needed help. Finally, when it was time to distribute the cupcakes they were just standing there. I politely asked if they'd be able to assist and I got attitude instead. I had other parents helping me instead. I recently had my daughters 2nd Birthday party at the Van Nuys location. It cost me a little under $600 dollars for a two hour experience. What I got for that price was admission for 15 children, food, and drink. Plus I added the glow room which was a cool experience with jump and climb equipment in a dark room. The floor and some parts of the equipment was glow in the dark. They offer a lot add-ons to packages and variety of packages to choose from. $515 being the cheapest package. It is more expensive to host a party on a weekend. The customer service was ok I made the reservation and had to call a lot before reaching a person. The building has it's own independent space with a private parking area for you and your guest no need to search for parking major plus. Once I arrived the staff was great. I scored low due to A/C wasn't cool enough for the space it was hot. The paint and decor was chipped and out dated. For what you pay the decor should be much better. A lot of the equipment was showing wear and tear which wasn't appealing to the eye close up. The kids did enjoy it! You can create invitations and email them to your guest they have four nice templates easy to use online English and Spanish. Your guest can RSVP and sign wavier through the email invite loved that. I'm hoping they do some updating of the appearance to match the price but I do recommend it. The kids had a wonderful time! I have no regrets. read more

I brought my kiddo here not long ago for a friend's birthday party. it was nice to have the place all to ourselves but at the same time, I felt like there was a huge lack of help from the folks working there. I know that we were the first birthday party group in there but I felt like you NEVER saw the workers. Luckily we didn't need their help really but when it was time to transition from one room to the next, that's when you saw them. That's when the kids were kind of corralled and herded into the next room. It was helpful that there was cabinet basically on casters where the kids put their shoes and sweaters and where the gifts were placed to be able to easily move all those things from one room to the next. There wasn't any music playing. That wasn't fun. The kids wanted to play games and be led in an activity but there weren't associates there for that. I don't know I guess this is strictly just a venue for the kids to run around and play. And like I said, it was fun and all but I feel like so much more could have been done for the kids, especially for a birthday party. I had also hoped we'd get to do the whole glow room thing that I'd heard so much about but apparently it wasn't available or something. I'm not sure. I had asked someone about it but they just gave me a confused look. Hmm. OK. I didn't like that the jumping surfaces also seemed a bit dirty and that they needed to be wiped down. There was some sorta strange odor in one of the jumping spaces but it wasn't from a cleanser or disinfectant. I don't know what that was. I wish they paid more attention to their guests. I agree with the reviews that the owner is rude and unprofessional. I emailed to ask whether they could accommodate kosher food. I know they say "no outside food" but I asked before I reserved the party, and the staff told me we could figure it out. I wasn't too concerned because I have been to parties here with kosher food in the past. For what it's worth, I was/am not upset that they could not change their policy, but the way the owner spoke to me was truly unacceptable. His tone from the beginning was rude, accusatory and unkind. He told me from the first email that I needed to "follow their rules." He told me from the first email I should cancel my party, and he wrote that he wasn't going to argue with me (to be clear, I wasn't arguing - I was asking). After his first response, I asked for a phone call - and he then canceled my party (I never asked him to cancel it). When I asked him to put my party back on the books, he refused. I shared the email chain with several people who are all reasonable and kind, and no one could believe how awful the owner was. Had he responded with "I'm sorry - there are no exceptions to our policy" it would have turned out much differently -- instead, his emails, from the first one, were full of accusations and written with a hostile and unkind tone. And at the end of the day, the person who loses out is my 6 year old who had been so excited to have a birthday party at Pump it Up. Be careful when you enter into a reservation with this man. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I spent over 1000 for a party expecting them to fulfill the requirements they listed they would. - a ninja turtle theme was chosen two months in advance. When calling and mentioning they somehow failed to communicate they did not have the ninja turtle outfit listed on their website. They did not relay that information to us knowing it was online until 5 days before the party. - when calling about this issue I reminded them it says it online and I'm paying over $100 extra for the turtle that they don't have. They said they would order Raphael for the party. - upon arrival for the party the manager begins to go off about the presents and not being able to open them in there. She said she would allow it if we didn't mind it cutting into our time. - they did not offer the cold water they said they would even though it was HOT. - We paid for the character and this character arrives and the disappointment takes over. The costume is a cheap terrible costume. What we paid for was Raphael , 30 minutes of interaction and jumping with kids. She showed up NO INTERACTION. no jumping. No playing with kids. She left after 15 minutes. When bringing up this issue to the team they said they would get her back in there. I told them she's waving in the corner with no kids. They brought her back in and the same thing. The kids tagged her to play and she stood there. It was so awful. We were so upset. Management offered NO solution to this. They didn't care we weren't satisfied. They didn't care that we paid for something and they didn't fulfill it. They had smirks and were laughing. The manager AMY comes to me during the party. She interrupts my time to say " if you file a complaint I won't allow you to open presents " so instead of a solution she chose to retaliate. At those point I just wanted it to be over. She was so rude. She was raising her voice and saying " let me talk " I chose to just wrap it up and finish the party off at home. The place only cares about taking every penny they can from you. What's frustrating is: I know that it's not an inexpensive place to have a party. This is definitely NOT an example of "you get what you pay for". If you have children under 4, they will either be bored out of their minds, or COMPLETELY out of their league. This location has absolutely NOTHING that a toddler can participate in safely. We had my nephews birthday party here yesterday And the staffing was horrible and not friendly at all especially the owner. When we walked the owner took my mother in laws (2) Disney bags full of limited editions gifts for my nephew. The owner said he would put them in the party room. Which he never did. THEY GAVE OUR PARTY SUPPLIES TO ANOTHER PARTY. when it was time to decorate our tables the decorations were being used by another party!! The manager/owner tried to fix this by driving to the dollar store to get table cloths. THE DOLLAR STORE. Then he got upset when we rejected the cheap table cloths that were all the wrong colors saying he went out of his way to fix this. Crazy thing is it wouldn't need to be fixed if they didn't mess it up. He then began yelling at us because we told him more than table cloths were missing basically calling us liars. I had to check him several times because he has no customer service skills. Even his employees said he doesn't know how to act when he left the room. After spending $700 here it took everything in me to not call my husband in because he would have handled it differently. When checking out my husband and brother who is 7ft tall came to the desk and all of a sudden the manager changed his tune. He offered a free pizza and all of a sudden couldn't make eye contlol. A free pizza would've sufficed if he didn't throw a tantrum while calling them out on their mistakes. The play time is way too short (70 minutes) while the eating time is too long (50 minutes), should be 1.5 h and half hour. We attended a birthday party at Pump It Up last year and had a blast, so we decided to do our son's 6th birthday there this year. I don't understand what all the negative reviews are about because we had a wonderful experience with our party. They are up front with their pricing and what you get in the package. There was plenty of communication leading up to our event. My favorite part is that there is no limit or extra charge for adults. Our attendants, Roxanna and Ally, were incredible. They were young, but extremely hardworking and attentive. I was very impressed. The place runs like a well-oiled machine- they took all of our party supplies when we got there and set everything up perfectly without any direction. The kids (and adults) had so much fun bouncing- it's a great environment of controlled chaos. If you have young kids, they will love this place. I don't know of any kid who doesn't lose their mind when they see bouncy houses, so it's a great way to let them have fun and tire them out. As someone who attended as a party guest, it was great that we had the place to ourselves. The downside is that many of the employees don't seem particularly interested in their jobs. The guy who was in charge of our party was tasked with taking some pics to put in a slideshow later on, and the quality of pics were subpar. Mostly blurry, some kids' bodies were cut out, and to make things worse, the actual TV screen where the slideshow was being played had huge black spots that interfered with the pictures themselves. Overall, this guy didn't seem to make much effort to do a good job. When he passed around pizza and cupcakes, his attitude was just one of 'I can't believe this is my job.' Granted, he had some help from another employee, and she definitely seemed to take her job seriously and wanted to make sure kids were having a good time. Hire more people like her! read more
