Crazy to think me and my cousins would come here growing up and now we're bringing our baby here. He loved it! I think it's so cute how they have games for toddlers his size. And lots of mini rides and games. 32 for one hour free play for Halloween week is a bit much, probably could do like 25 for one hour but that's okay! We still had a lot of fun. The Luigi's mansion game was kind of a rip off because the other gun was off the game and there was only one gun and my son couldn't even hold it like the other arcades we played it at, let alone push the top button which is essential for playing the game. It was blocked by the clamp holding the vacuum gun Luigi uses. Also the picture on the car ride with Chuck E. Cheese didn't print anything. But the other photo machine did and we were really happy about that. Chuck E. Cheese came out to give each child some Halloween candies and do a dance party together, so we took our toddler to the dance floor and he was happy. My daughter loves this location! It is perfect for families with small children. They do get pretty busy so we avoid weekends. They stamp everyone at the door. They accept cash or credit card. They have military packages available. We enjoyed our package that included two pizzas, drinks, a salad and points to play all of the games. The pizza was good and so was the salad bar. They have your normal soft drinks. They have Chuck E. Cheese souvenir cups for purchase as well. I think this location has the most games I've seen. So many fun games for all kid ages. Many of the games were just perfect for my kids height, even the air hokey was kid sized. We could have spent hours here! Points are stored on a card, actual tickets are a thing of the past now as well as coins. Scan your card, play a game, earn points automatically for each game. Scan your card once you are done playing to see how many points you can redeem at the prize counter. They have some cool prizes, my kid always loves all of her prizes. For the most part, most of the adults wore masks, it wasn't possible to social distance. Bathrooms were clean enough. We may have to come back to celebrate a birthday here. read more

Came here on Saturday for a birthday party. It's been years since I have been here but not much has changed. FOOD Pizza - Conspiracy theory or not, I firmly believe the pizza is recycled. Everything that they tell you makes ZERO sense as to why the slices do not fit. We even brought it up to the manager and her explanation was "If you move this slice up, the other one would fit". But how is that possible if the slice is already touching the other slice and cannot move is? It's ridiculous. Granted the pizzas tasted fine but I swear it's recycled. My husband as well as other family members got sick from eating the pizza! Wings - How could they even serve these?! They came out cold. They literally tasted like the frozen Costco wings. Yes, Costco wings are fine if you heat them up properly but these were cold. GAMES - The card idea was nice because when we were kids, we had to use tokens and those went fast. However, the card reader on the games did not always read the card easily so you had to stand there trying to place the card in different positions so it would actually scan. Not to mention, a lot of the games were broken or got stuck after we played them. I am surprised Chuck E. Cheese is still around after all of these years. We've been to this location countless times over 30+ years. In all of its history, I have never once received such terrible service as I have this year. There was an older lady who was the manager that worked here for years. She was awesome and everything was over the top with her there. Seems the place went to crap with her gone. (If she's gone, just don't see her anymore.) we went on Sunday around 6:30pm and a Juan was working. Very rude younger guy. He came up to us around 7:15pm asking us to move from the stage room so he could setup for parties tomorrow. Our entire party of 15 had not even received their food yet. I asked if we could finish eating and he blank stared me and said he would bring us boxes. I couldn't believe it! He walked away after a few minutes. Never brought those boxes btw... checked if the tables were setup for a party before we left around 8:30 (they closed at 9) and nothing had been done. Room was clean tho. Interesting as I've never known parties to be setup on the far left table, only the center in front of the screen / stage. No tables were setup before we left, at all. Turns out, he was the one to give us our prizes at the end. Super rude and went as far as slamming each prize on the glass counter as he handed them to us. Before that, a middle eastern woman was picking out prizes with her children prior to us and he was even worse to her. I wanted so badly to ask for his manager but our last visit, we had similar service by a young female with black hair and asked for her manager and apparently, she was the manager. Hovered and stared at us and told us to leave directly at 9pm. Literally walked us out of the store and told us we were not allowed to pick prizes and we couldn't even go over there to look. That was a few months back and nothing has changed. It's insane. They're already struggling, as you can see.. even worse when you get poor service like this. Beyond poor. Most of the games weren't working tonight during our visit. Only two out of the rest of the non-working games had an "out of service" screen on the tap to play. Food was great, it always is great at this location. Served hot & fresh within a good 20-25 min wait. My daughter was ready to pick out her prizes, the dirty blonde haired female employee working the prize counter was passive aggressively rude. She would rush us into choosing the prizes stating "you have so and so left, DO YOU WANNA SAVE IT?" I was asked that question by her multiple times while I was literally looking for other prizes...I am obviously still trying to choose prizes for my child, why do you keep asking if we want to save the points??? You clearly see me crouching and trying to see what else to get. Mind you it was no where near closing either. Customer service needs to be improved here...they hire people who don't even like kids. This is a fun place for kids and games are fun for small kids less than 10. The atmosphere is happy and gives a carnival feel . I am not a fan of thier food coz they have very less options for vegans and vegetarians and pizza is not so great either. But we don't go here for food but just to play games and have some fun. The points remaining in play card can be reused in next visits which is cool. Overall a fun place. 3.5 stars for games and atmosphere only. Cashier Jaden was not attentive. She seems busy chatting with the other cashiers. Had to repeat myself several times. She offered us the wrist band without disclosing the fees. I found out by checking my receipt. Didn't advise us that additional topping cost $2.09 each. The socks for the trampoline is outrageous for $10 each. Our food took almost an hour and the buzzer wasnt working so it was just sitting in the pick up area. I had to check on it when I saw other people in there. Food wasn't hot anymore. While eating and still have food in our plates, one staff came and asked if we needed some boxes. I hope that you train your employees properly. We were here today and it was our second visit. I wanted to give this place a chance because it is closest to our house but it just is not worth going to. We have the summer pass and have been to 6 locations in San Diego and this one is probably the worst. The machines do not work and they do not properly give you the tickets earned. This can be challenging with little kids who are looking forward to cashing in their tickets. On top of that the customer service was subpar and it seems that no one knew how to handle the situation. The gentleman who was helping me with the machine said that they knew the machine was not working properly and that it was all about "Luck" when getting the tickets. Ultimately I was given the 567 tickets that were owed to us which was great but I had to advocate and push for them. Customer service is pretty slow at that too and employees are more focused on standing around more than anything. The bathrooms were not well kept and there's not as many good machines as some other locations. Just had my daughter's 5th birthday party here. Everyone has a great time! We had 8 kids total and 18 adults. Five parties were going on at one time, so it was loud but everyone still enjoyed themselves. It is a little pricey but the kids had a blast and we didn't have to set up or clean up afterwards. The pizza was yummy. Service was great. Manager Vicky was present, checked in at the beginning, and was available during and after the party. I appreciated that the staff were helpful. Super-disappointed in our visit today. The staff weren't very friendly (we asked for them to have our pizza re-cut because there were no cut marks and we were having difficulty using a plastic knife to cut it. They only offered to give us another plastic knife. We insisted that they take it back and cut it. It took 10 minutes to come back out - still not cut. Having an actual sliced pizza is really not too much to ask when you're paying $85 for two pizzas and 8 drinks. Not to mention, the prices for games are INSANE. They provide space, pizza, entertainment, but you provide your own cake. Everything is set into a window: eat pizza, sing happy birthday (all bday parties celebrated at once), eat cake and ice cream, watch the bday kid go into the air tube filled with tickets and cheer them on as they grab as much as they can, then go home. As for the food, I cannot knock on the pizza, it's good because it's a nostalgic food item I grew up on. Hawaiian was the best! But this place was not like how it was in the 80s. There is now more arcade games. Don't expect how it use to be when there was the crawling interactive playground climbing the maze up to the top of the slide and the ring filled with balls. I haven't been to any Chuck E . Cheese for 35 years and that was not even in San Diego. So we just returned from a kid (5 year old) bday party with 24 kids--the super mega package which came with 2 hours of unlimited play with the wrist band card. (You can "stop" the clock by turning the card off and on) Kids (and adults) play the various video games, rides, etc. and tickets spit out, which are redeemed in another machine for points, and then you bring the receipt to the "prize" desk--and you really have to get thousands of points to get a good gift! But it's fun for kids and they're all happy, running around. The backroom has long tables for the several bday kids, a band of the large stuffed animals that "come alive" and the rest of the place is booths. At various times, Chuck E Cheese does a dance with another employee and they "throw" tickets on the floor like an easter egg hunt. The pizza was okay---not bad--and according to the menu board, it's only $8.49 for all you can eat salad bar and pizza for an adult. Beer is about $6 and there's dippin dots for dessert. Why not 5 stars? It could use more and better games and the child's crawl area (tubes and slides) could be bigger and have some ventilation. read more

Cheese on a Sunday afternoon for my daughter's birthday was asking for a day of chaos. But that was the only day we could have it. I had a party booked for my now 10 year old's birthday. Our food came out later than expected. All the activities late to follow. It wasn't what we wanted or expected. Maybe they over booked or were short staffed because someone called off. Regardless, the way this team handled the situation, and did everything in their power to make sure damage was minimized. They deserve the 5 star. The manager, his name is Furious I believe. He took 100% accountability. I guess he is new in his position. And I just know Chuck E. Cheese does NOT pay this man the money he deserves. He had every reason to walk out of there and not deal with the crap I'm sure he had to deal with from all angry parents. But he stepped up and was handling not only my issues, but he was running around helping all the team members and all the customers and I know he takes his job serious. He apologized for every mistake that was made within our reservation. Every issue we ran into. And made my voice feel heard. He made up for things that I know other managers would've blown off and said too bad. Furious, I hope you get the recognition that you deserve. I hope you get a promotion or are at least paid what you're worth as not only an employee, but a manager that has to answer for everything that occurs within your establishment. I was very disappointed with this location. Maybe it is just my rose-colored glasses mentality while remembering this place, but I remember Chuck e Cheese being FUN. Now, about 75% of the games are a variation of "push a single button to win tickets" that isn't very much fun at all. I took Wee One and the "fun" of pushing a single button was lost on him. He gets more enjoyment from stealing my cell phone, pushing those buttons and watching me scramble to hang up on whoever he managed to dial. The remaining games are normal skee-ball, basketball, generic stuff or variations of riding in a car/train/horse. Some of them took pictures, but the quality is AWFUL. I also remember the rides and stuff lasting longer but holy crap, they were short. The tickets buy the same cheap trinkets they always have, it still gets too crowded after about half an hour after opening. The icing on the cake was our dining companion... (See picture) We complained to one of the workers and she came over, knocked him over the head with her broom and swept him up. Of course this was AFTER we had already eaten... Gross. Chuck e Cheese used to be the best place to take your kids back in the token and ticket days. This location has got to be one of the worst. National City location is worth driving to. Let me start by saying the employees here were great except for the game attendant at least that's what I think he is. African American guy was called when we asked for help on one of the games and he comes out doesn't even as acknowledge his coworker let alone us the customers and just walks off on his phone. The girl that checked us in was trying to figure out how to take care of the issue and he just asks her did you get it after all he did was push a ball out of the way and walked off. Totally unprofessional and rude if you ask me. When you first walk in you're drawn by the games and lights, get to the counter or self serve kiosk, immediately you realize this place is way too overpriced. Not just food wise but "gameplay" as well. During our trip on a Tuesday, more that 7 games were malfunctioning and when you pay for games you expect to be able to play all of them with no issues. Regardless we had already paid so we did continue to use up our credits. Not worth getting anything at then at the prize counter because all the good prizes required you to spend more money on either gameplay or purchase the item itself. Games are now card activated however like at Dave and Busters. however the card reader takes forever to load and not very user friendly especially when you have parents that let their kids play on their own. This review is strictly for their takeout food during COVID lockdown: OMG I love their stuff crust pizza! Such a good deal and surprisingly cravable that puts chains like Pizza Hut's version to shame. I've even stopped going to Best Pizza or any other local NY style pizzeria. $5 large cheese pizza base + $2 stuff crust (cheese or cheese&bacon) upgrade + $4 upgrade for either 5 meal, supreme, or veggie + $2 for any additional toppings like pineapple. $11 or $13 for a loaded stuff crust large is a steal! Since everything going on with us, my son wanted to have a birthday party here. I finally booked it online 2 weeks ago. Vickey was hosting us. She worked here for 15 years. She is such an amazing person. A few months ago. I was there as a small get together for my gf son birthday. just 3 kiddos including mines. She didn't book a big party or anything. I met a man who works there. Older and taller. He looks miserable that he doesn't want to be there. I thought he was the guy who was going to host or the manager. He wasn't, which was good. I was happy Vickey was helping us. We left the cake the day before the party. It was in the fridge but someone at night shift threw the cake away in the garbage. Vickey called me the morning of the party. She felt so bad that she thought I was going to hate her or give her a hard time. Things happen and that wasn't her shift nor her fault. She made it up to us. Vickey didn't have to but she did. You need more staff members like Vickey. She is upbeat and always willing to help. She is there for the kids and the parents.
