Cheese has taken a bigger step toward games sized more for kids under 10 and less kids plus adults, which makes independent play easier for kids, but parent participation a bit more hands-off. There are good and bad aspects to that as a brand strategy, and I'm sure it depends on who you are as a parent or a family when it comes to participation. As someone who misses the old animatronics and performance aspect of the curtain opening and stage time bringing all the kids to the stage for a break - the only semi-familiar supplement is when Chuck E Cheese walks out in full costume to gather kids to the dance floor to dance together. This is usually a key turnover point for families to collect their littles together. Otherwise the video screen, music, and sound is always on like a kids bop MTV channel. It's become less and less of a restaurant with games and more and more of a kid play space that has fountain soda and some pizza, and can host a party at a pretty affordable rate that feels a little more unique than a party at home. With that in mind, the games run 1-2 credits each, and kids can blow through around 40-60 credits in 1-2hrs if they break their time up with a little eating, dancing, or taking a break. Earning tickets just goes right into a card instead of producing long ribbons to flaunt winnings with- more efficient but less bragging rights. Card balances can be checked independently and refilled independently at card machines. Definitely check out the website coupon deals in advance. For example a current special has for $49.99 you can get 120 game credits, a pizza, 4 drinks, plus cotton candy for only $10 more than the 120 game credit price of $39.99 - this would be an ideal package for 2 kids with 2 parents or 3 kids with 1 parent. If you have game cards with credit left over, save them and bring them back so you can use them again another time without getting or needing to activate a new card. Overall the machines were all in good working order- which can be a lot to keep up with- so someone is doing a great job of that. They could use a few more alcohol wipes throughout the day to keep the cotton candy sticky hand feeling at bay- but on our visit there weren't that many people working the floor- and were mostly behind the counter. read more

Chuck E Cheese has been around for ages. When I was 9 months old my mom took me to one for a party and my first steps were at a Chuck E Cheese. We used to go all the time. A lot has changes. They no longet have the anomatronics. They do not have the playscape slide and now have a bounce zone. We came for a birthday party and it is not included in the pack so I am assuming if you come without a party it is also a separate fee. The good thing is they do not allow it to get overcrowded but I was scared to let my 2 1/2 year olds on it because they are super tiny and some kids were way older. They are also scared to go on trampolines and bounce houses without us with them. I think it is a new fresh change. The party aspect was nice but a little hectic. The food wasn't too bad. I tried a bite of their pizza and it still tasted the same as when I was a kid. The kids loved the dip n dots icecream too. Overall its a nice place to come for birthday parties. I believe they have a package for $99 on the site. They have 3 different ones varying in price. You don't need to bring decorations. The food is covered for the kids and drinks. The big package includes gift bags too and a card that lets you play for 2 months unlimited which is awesome. read more

Been here a number of times this year and I have to be honest, when I get my daughter excited to come here, I'm just as excited! This is a clean location and a pretty good size. Unfortunately they don't offer any play areas but they do have a huge variety of games to play, for both older (games) and younger (rides) kids. They offer a decent menu with appetizers, wings, and the best, PIZZA! Even though their pizza is not heavy and it's more on the thin side, it's seriously delicious! Their menu is pricey, but that's usually what to expect at these kinds of places. I definitely recommend signing up for their More Cheese rewards program, you'll get customized coupons and special offers for your kids' half birthdays and birthdays. The service at this place is terrible. The staff does whatever they want. There are no clear rules for the trampolines. Or rather, there are rules, but the staff applies them however they like. One day, a child is allowed to jump with socks, and the next day, they are not. One day, a child meets the height requirement for the trampoline, and the next day, they are suddenly too tall. The children suffer because of this. My child just loves, loves, loves the retro animatronics and old-school Chuck E vibe. We had to come out here to check out the animated Chuck E and the 90's decor. She was very happy to be there, although not posted here, we took so many pictures. This place is an interesting space, perhaps not as big as the Novi location, but has a lot of fun games and mini-rides for the kids. We are big into arcades of all kinds, so this place is fun. They had a pretty good ticket gift corner with a lot of cotton candy. This place had the full salad bar out and they do the the ghost kitchen for their cute delivery only service. (Although you cannot order it there, I love ghost kitchens with adorable theming). We did not eat here today, but if we do, we will review the food. Drove an extra 10 minutes to get to this location- so worth it. The staff has been kind and generous. The pizza came out quickly and tastes amazing. The staff recommended upgrading to the stuffed crust- totally worth the extra 2 bucks. The manager himself is personally sanitizing the games, which I am so grateful for especially during this virus season! She creates an hostile environment for minors showing inappropriate gestures such a snatching bags from the workers, communicating in a inappropriately way, threatening workers and just being an overall bully. It's very upsetting that chuck E cheese allow such behavior to be presented around parents, children and employees of this facility in this manner. Where do I start with this place? My kids love it here.. My wallet and stomach do not!! With 4 kids and food with a school fundraiser it cost about $60. The costumed "rat/mouse" mascot goes by the name Chuck E. Cheese. He walks around with the sole purpose to scare kids and make them cry. They need to make their mascot animals look more friendly in order to avoid frightening the kids. The tickets kids win are not worth enough and can barely get them any decent prizes. Most of the kids end up with a small, useless tootsie roll. The place honestly smells like children pooped themselves while they were in the play area. A lot of strange smells. The place looks like an unorganized, stinky dump with germs all over the tables and games. The food is very unappetizing and a waste of money. The pizza taste like plastic/rubber and makes me sick. My son is addicted to this place! He has so much fun here and I have fun playing games with him too. The staff is always friendly to us. I can't imagine having to work all day surrounded by that craziness and still have a smile on your face. The place is clean and a little chaotic, but it's kids running around and acting crazy. Just reliving my childhood memories on a Sunday afternoon with a kid's birthday party. The place was clean, the children were pretty well-behaved. There was an attendant near the door who kept a watchful eye, making sure none of the kids wandered away. Nice touch, allowing parents to relax and not stress about security so much. As a mom of two young kids I frequent Chuck E. Cheese. Perfect place to keep them entertained, doesn't matter if they are loud, and we all love the pizza. This location is clean and the staff is friendly. I was recently extremely pleased with a recent visit when my five year old daughter who has autism had a meltdown. Moments like this people usually stare but the staff made us feel comfortable, and tried to help by giving my daughter things to distant her. I was very appreciative and impressed. You got to be good with kids, used to kids, or have a kid to be able to stay sane. There is decent selection of games for kids to play, a small "Play Area" (tunnels and slide), and large section for parties. They mark your hand and your child's hand with an invisible ink so that they can confirm you are the guardian of that child when you go to exit. I wish for more games that an adult can enjoy to try and zone out all the screaming. Pizza isn't the best, but alright. read more

Cheese over the years it seems but it is a nice location to bring the younger kids that aren't ready for the hustle and bustle at Dave and Busters. This is the best location.. I haven't been to a chuck E cheese in a while now, so i came to find out that there's a change. They now offer cards to use for games/rides; you're pretty much paying for time not per coin. I chose 1 hour of play time for $20. I like this concept better since you get more time to play for the amount you pay. I came here for my 6 yr old sister and she was able to play and go on rides more than she used to be able to for the same amount spent on the coins. My kids had a great time here. The fact that each game uses only one token per play is a huge plus. The play area was extremely clean. They had enough staff to result no waiting for tokens or prizes. Although there were a few games which had run out of tickets, they need to keep better on top of that. We did not order any food, so I can not comment on that. I love the security stamps at the door for the adults and children. Our hostess, Kelly failed to tell us that we would be charged $5 per kid that goes into the ticket machine and then had the nerve to accuse our children of making her feel uncomfortable which is why she didn't tell us we were being charged per child. When I confronted the manager about their dishonest move she threatened to call the police because I raised my voice at her...like what a joke. Also, the pizza tasted like hard cardboard, the drinks were ALL flat and the wings were like a centimeter each (you needed a magnifying glass to see them). I never thought I would give this place 5 stars but I was blown away by the attentive staff for my little girls 6th birthday. From linking all of us together with an invisible stamp so no one runs off with the wrong kid. To the staff offering to help get the gifts from the car. They made a tiny mistake in the kitchen in regard to the pizza and more than made up for it with by giving the grandparents something to drink for free. They had probably 8 party's going on at the same time, but we always felt that the service was very attentive. Fantastic experience. My grandson and I visit often in the winter months. We went last week and I'm very disappointed that they have changed the way they price pizza packages... they no longer include points to be used for the games. The price I paid before the change for a pizza, 2 sodas and plenty of points for 4 year old grandson to play was roughly $22. Last week same visit was $36. Average staff, tasty pizza, clean. Costumed Chuck E Cheese comes out, waves for a few minutes then goes back to his hole. This place is probably the benchmark of whatever corporate status quo the company is trying to maintain. Didn't encounter any crazy parents. But it had been some 30 years since I'd been in a Chuck E Cheese and there were several disappointments I feel the need to report on. First, If you take a good look around you'll find some neat-o mechanical and video screen games for kids. Nice. However they're just that- geared towards the smallest children, like ages 2 to like 5. Gone are the days of fun arcade games even older kids would enjoy. Then, the ever creepy but eternally famous pneumatic robot band show has been whittled down to a measly 1/2 of a character- so all you see is the top half of Chuck E Cheese barely moving inside a tiny tube-shaped box. No stage, no other robot characters. So, although this is a completely different experience that an 80's child might expect for their own kid's party, I must say it still has that lingering touch of magic from a special era soon to be an unreachable thing of the past.
