Let me preface this by saying I am a vegetarian so I haven't ever eaten the meat I've purchased here. However I buy and prepare meat for my family members and I know how to find a good cut of meat so I'm going to review what I can. Due to Covid 19 The custom meat section at the grocery stores I shop at are currently closed so I can only choose from prepackaged meats. The selection is less than desirable, I ventured into Chucks because we were grilling out steaks. The meat here looks fresh and wonderful. The sirloin steaks we bought were a bit pricier than the grocery store but were trimmed to perfection, we put them on the grill with zero prep and everyone loved them. I really dislike preparing chicken so I paid about $1 more per pound for the chicken cutlets, (breasts, thighs and other cuts were available as well.). So worth it, they were ready to marinate for fajitas right out of the white paper. I purchased some unique local spices, fresh potatoes and frozen gourmet pasta (which i got to eat!) as well. There is a freezer of dog foods and marrow bones as well. This local place is a gem, and I will continue to shop here! read more

THANK GOD THERE IS A LOCAL BUTCHER!!! I met the owners the day before opening, and they let me in for a sneak peek. I was so excited for them to open, and I wasn't let down at all! Decor: They have a very nice, CLEAN feel to the store, with all the meats separated, and labeled clearly. Sports memorabilia is on top of the freezers, and it really feels like a small business I would love to stand by. Selection: All their meats are Prime, which is great. They have competitive pricing, and I would rather get my meat from them than the large grocery stores. Call ahead to ensure they have what you're looking for, and they will hold it for you if possible as well. They also have some BBQ sides, necessities, and sauces. Service: The staff there are extremely friendly, welcome you in, and make sure you leave satisfied. Not once have I gone in thinking I was being pressured to buy something. Love Chuck's! Really great, high quality meat. We have prime rib dinner a couple times a year - and this year, we purchased from Chucks and it's the best we've ever had. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, a number of meat processing plants have had to slow down or completely shut down. What I didn't realize was that our local grocery store would be forced to buy beef from an oversees source. After some research, we found Chucks Fine Meats in East Mesa. I called and talked to Chuck about ground beef. All the hamburger he sells is ground in house! That was the key point. Today, we went by the store and immediately noticed 2 things. All patrons were masked and respectful and there was absolutely NO smell of old meat. We looked at fresh beef, chicken, pork, frozen, seafood and marinades. Wow. What a great selection. Chuck came out to talk to us. We asked about grass fed/grass finished beef, organic chicken, bison meat and gluten free marinades. Chuck really knows his business. But I think what clinched the deal were his prices. Ground beef, roasts and steak all very comparable to Costco, Walmart, Frys and Sprouts. We ended up with pork chops, a couple of T-bones, hamburger and sirloin. The T-bones we cooked were perfect. Flavor on par with restaurant quality prime. Chucks Fine Meats is located on Mckellips and Power in the west side of the mall. The store closes around 6pm every day and is closed on Monday. First time at a butcher because we no longer want to purchase meat at a grocery store. Very impressed with the selection. I never like the look of meat at the grocery but all the meat here looked really good. Ordered two of thier packages for next day pickup, and purchased stuffed pork chops to take home. Delicious. Very good taste and good portion. Can't wait to pick up our prime and corn fed packages tomorrow. We are excited to try more of thier meats. Based on what we had today, we'll be purchasing all of our meat here from now on. read more

I love this place. The meats are awesome (our favorite is the tri tip)!! My dog also rates them 5 stars because he LOVES their dog food!! He is very picky and licks his bowl clean! Another gem Arizona has to offer. This place is small, clean and friendly. The items in the case were all fresh and of the highest quality. I got a NY Strip. The marbling was incredible, the meat was melt in your mouth and the flavor was delicious. I thought it was a little steep but I'm gonna go with they are paying their staff a livable wage. I totally recommend you try out Chuck's meat, which is kind of a clever funny name, but also his name. Now I wish I took before and after pictures. I will next time read more

There's a meat counter and then there is Chuck's. If you want cheap meat full of hormones, this is not the place. However if you want a real butcher shop experience, meats that are flavorful and natural, this is it. Sure, it's more expensive by the pound but, I can buy a smaller cut at Chuck's because there is less waste, less, fat, less filler. The service is awesome too! Reminds me of when I was a kid and they get to know you by name. They will cut something right away if you don't see the cut you like in the case. read more

Great prime steaks at a fair price! Their seafood is fresh too! Our daughter knives the salmon. Our favorites are the frozen briskett burgers and the chorizo and beef burgers are a close 2nd. Brand new sparkling clean butcher shop featuring fresh beef, pork, burgers, sausages, chorizo, giant stuffed baked potatoes, marinated chicken and even fresh seafood (tuna, salmon and sea bass when I was there yesterday). The frozen case features more meat and seafood (great ham hocks for soup!) as well as ground meat for pets. They also have an extensive selection of rubs, marinades, and bbq sauces. Everything looked incredibly fresh and the steaks are excellent. Trying the kiltlifter brats next. This is a father/son local business that deserves our support! read more

February 15, 2020 was my visit but definitely not my last! I picked up 2 beautiful New York Strip steaks and a tub of beef for dogs from the freezer. The steaks were so flavorful and delicious. My dogs were very happy with their treat, as well. Cassie was very friendly and like others have said, no high pressure pitch. I am excited to try their carne asada next time. As I was coming into do a review I saw the ranking at 4 1/2, for those people who look at these reviews know that is wrong they are a class act with a great product. They should be rated a 5. I am from Chicago and know good beef, his is the best. The meat is prime not choice so the fat content is different, but I like prime. The owners Chuck and his wife are amazing people. Cathy his wife has never been wrong when telling me what portion to buy. I usually want to buy more and she guides me to the correct amount which means she usually makes less on that sale. She guides me on how to prepare stuff, and if I want to get something she thinks I will not like she tells me. Sometimes, I would like to give her a hug, but her husband is there with this big knife in his hand, so discretion is the better part of valor. Chucks attention to detail is evident in the way he puts his product out. A couple of examples, I got a prime rib for xmas dinner and he separated the bones from the meat and tied together without being asked. Another time I got baby back ribs and there is a membrane on the bone side. I always take that off, but that time I could not find it. I mentioned that to Chuck when I was in and he said he already did it. For those of you who know how to make ribs, you know how time consuming this is. I reviewed them about 6 months ago, but the service just keeps blowing me away so I had to write again. read more

Stopped by to check out Chuck's. WOW! A real butcher shop! Haven't had one of those nearby in 40 years!! The selection is great! Hubby and I were thinking about going out of steak, but thought we'd have a look at what Chuck's had to offer as we'd rather grill out steak at home! Was in town visiting a friend who is also a huge fan of steak and wanted to see where we could find some Japanese Wagyu. Ended up finding this place on Google and they had some American Wagyu as well as Japanese Wagyu in stock. Also picked up some New York Strips. All I can say is if you have never tried the American Wagyu from this place you're missing out. Hands down the best steak I've ever had. Chuck is a very nice guy and has great customer service. My wife and I have always thought meat from a butcher shop was a cut above what you would get at your local grocer. The problem is, finding and even having one in your neighborhood. When we were in Surprise we did have a local butcher shop there but now that we are in Mesa that's out of the question. We then began to frequent Midwestern Meats and were happy with them. It's a bit of a drive but we did it for the freshness of the meats. Now, comes Chuck's Fine Meats..... We went there 2 days ago and purchased brats and potato salad. Brats were very tasty and potato salad was much to my liking (not drowning in mayo). We are going back today to buy and try some other cuts of meat... Went back yesterday. Bought the stuffed pork chops and a baked potato. Again the items where very good. I was careful not to over cook the pork chops. Didn't want them to get tough and dried out. Found this gem today for the first time! It has an amazing selection of meats and the people that work there were so wonderful. Bought a rib eye, a New York and some bacon plus a twice baked potato. Bbq'ed the steaks and they were so good. Brother had the potato and was saying how great it was. So happy to have found them. My new go to for meat and seafood. read more
