On a relaxing Sunday afternoon, we decided to get some great Mexican food and take it home to enjoy. First, we grabbed some cookies, cake, and conchas from the bakery spot as you walk into the store. Then we went to the counter where you can get hot food to eat in store or to take home. There was a line, of course, as others know of this great eatery, too. Usually, we would just get some street tacos and maybe a burrito, but this time we ordered a combo plate where you get rice, beans, a meat (we chose pollo), salsa, cilantro and onions, and tortillas. Under $20 and enough food to feed four. We hadn't ever signed up for their app, but because of their digital punch card which keeps track of the aguafrescas you purchase, we signed up. After grabbing our food, my wife got a 32 oz. cucumber and I grabbed a watermelon. So delicious. Already planning our next Sunday lunch. read more

Atmosphere 5/5 This is a clean, well maintained and stocked grocery store on par with the big chain stores with an emphasis on Hispanic food. Food 5/5 From canned, fresh, dry goods to frozen they have it all and then some. I enjoy their produce and fresh meat departments, and I can't leave without some of their on-site made fresh corn tortillas! Food Court 5/5 I love Hispanic foods and the foodcourt for eating in or taking out is a good value. This is authentic and not Taco Bell. I've enjoyed almost everything I've tried, however tonight I wasn't loving the green chile pork. It was more flavor (recipe seasonings) that didn't agree with me but if I don't try and explore options less familiar to me I might miss out discovering my new best dish! Service 5/5 Language could have some impact on your service experience but there are many employees who speak or understand English. Los Altos is my favorite mexican supermarket as of now. It beats El Super. All their produces and meat are always so fresh. I love how they have handmade tortillas and sopes. Lately, we have been loving their food court area. We got Chicharrón (payed by the pound) and a large aguas de frescas for $4.99!! All so cheap and soo good. I can't wait to try their other stuff. Everyone who helped us at the market is super sweet and nice and always seem willing to help. We have gotten taco meat and all the ingredients there and were so satisfied with our meals. I also love how spacious the supermarket is. The pan dulce section looks so good and I want to try everything. Joining their rewards program to get their deals was also so easy. You just input your number during checkout. There is always a ton of parking in the plaza. read more

In The far left hand corner of this grocery store you'll find the kitchen/ hot prepared foods section where they have the most delicious Caldo De Res EVER!! It's flavorful, and filling with lots of fresh vegetables and lots of meat ! In town attending a family gathering so I wanted to pick up some Sonoran style Tortillas in the area to take home. I usually buy some in Coolidge at Shopes or ones from Doña Esperanza if I can find them in the area or passing thru Tucson. Since I was near this area, I searched on Yelp for fresh flour Tortillas and found a couple of places, this being one of them. I've never been to a Tortilleria but found good reviews at this location. I've never been to this large of a Mexican food store, ever so I was impressed. We stopped by the bakery to check out the cakes and my cousin perused the varieties while I made my way past the deli and produce, in awe of the selection of items. I was easily distracted and had to refocus & find the Tortilleria. When I found it I was super happy and started looking at the variety of house-made flour tortillas on the shelf in different sizes from street taco size to 8" and 13" large burrito sizes. I even saw a Harina label and asked a woman near me what the difference was? She didn't know but did say her son prefers the small street taco sizes for her meat tacos. I asked one of the workers in the kitchen area who were packaging the tacos and they didn't know. I asked if they were Sonoran style and they confirmed it, said they were good and people like them. I decided to take a shot and ended up buying the 13" size that contains 8 tortillas and the 8" size that contains 18. These don't have Lard as the Doña Esperanza ones do but thought I'd give them a try. We had a party to go to so this was my only stop for Tortillas. We also picked up Chicharones and a tall chocolate cake topped with strawberries which was really moist & fresh. Afterwards, I walked around the store to see what other food items they had and saw the Carniceria, saw some exotic meat cuts and was interested in the huge Chicken Chorizo but didn't get it. Wish I had more time but we had more stops to go to. When I got home, I made a couple of Brisket Quesadillas with the 8" and one 13". They were yummy and I didn't even crave the Lard flavor! Next time I'm in the area, I'll be back and will try some of their ready-made hot food. read more

Let me start by saying how excited I was to find this market. Unfortunately I live in north Phoenix and I haven't found a Latin market near by. I'm originally from Los Angeles and the markets had locations everywhere. Anyway, from the moment I walked in I noticed how clean and organized this market is. I went straight to the hot food since I was on lunch break from the courthouse. The lady that assisted me was nice enough. Now on to the food. I was a bit disappointed, I thought I was going to get a taste from back home but alas I did not. Maybe I should've just ordered tacos? But I instead ordered a plate with chile verde. It was only ok. It personally think their tamales are way too spicy, but if you like it super hot you'll probably like them. On the market side, I love the market and can usually find ingredients you can't find at a chain supermarket. The fresh salsas, dips, guac and bakery items are delicious. If you love fresh food from produce, fruit juices, tacos, soups, salads, cheese, carne, look no further. This place is awesome. Always clean and the vibe is so festive and uplifting. I love grabbing things for last minute cookouts. Last weekend, I needed a large order of meat, beans, rice, enough for 20 people (don't judge!) to make tacos. I went the day before to make sure they could have it ready on time and they did not disappoint. I definitely recommend the carne asada or chicken. One of the ladies who worked on the order even called me to clarify how much of each meat I needed before she made it. Everyone was very helpful! I have been coming here for years anytime I am craving good Mexican food that I want made to order or to make at home, I come here. They have everything you need. The tortillas are made fresh and I love the flour tortillas, so delicious. The carniceria has delicious carne asada and pollo asado. The horchatas are awesome, and I love their aguacate salsa. During COVID all employees are wearing masks, glass partitions at the register, hand sanitizer stations, and they wipe down the carts with disinfectant spray. I ordered a cake 6 days before I wanted to pick it up, and payed for tres leches. The person who took my order kept asking what kind of filling. No filling I'm ordering tres leches. I just wanted it to be a regular tres leches cake with blue letters that said happy birthday angel.when I picked up the cake it was 49.00. it was a totally blue cake. It was so blue that our teeth and lips and everything were blue for 2 days. How did it get so screwed up I have no idea. Half of the people at the party wouldn't even eat the icing. Let's talk about the good: this market is a great place for getting Mexican product, from vegetables, fruits, and other good, their Salsa Verde de mocajete is my absolute favorite, and well, truly, for me, it is the mostly the only reason I come to this place. I stopped by o Friday Sept, 8th early morning to get my favorite salsa, (almost as good as Moms' salsa) it was about 0730, and since the self check out is becoming the norm, all of those check out registers were open, all of them were in use. two costumer had their shopping cart full.... full... using the self check out registers.... ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. I voiced my frustration to the only register attendant, which; she was doing a good job helping all the costumers who did not seem to have an understanding on the use of such registers. She directed me to the manager, and I voiced my frustration to her as well. my frustration was related to the fact that: 1: all of the registers were in use, 2: two of them were being used by costumers who had a full shopping cart. and two more, were used by costumers who seemed to have trouble using the self check out registers. the response from the manager was that there would be one at 0800. at this point the manager suggested I call corporate. The worst: I liked the manager's suggestions and called corporate, twice. what I got during the calls, was an offer to a voucher or a wall mart shopping card, the first person who attended me, understood I was not interested on the card, nor the voucher , but rather I want to talk to someone about my poor experience. on my second call, the attendant was very insistent about the offers, voucher VS card. I was firm and and kept asking her to please connect me with someone who would listen to my complaint. she kept pushing the "gifts card and or voucher" so much that I actually told her that since she was not been helpful with my concerns, I would hang up before getting pissed off and start yelling at her. Still good market. A strong emphasis on Latin cuisines. You can get a wider variety of peppers here, plus assorted produce that is not common in places like Safeway or Fry's, some different meats and cheeses, etc. And the grocery aisles have all sorts of specialty items that Hispanic folks use all the time. So if you have a recipe that calls for such things, this is the place to go. We don't come here too often, but when we do we get the freshly-made tortillas, some of the specialty produce, sometimes the marinated chicken, sometimes some of the cheeses...good stuff. read more

As I was trying to order food the lady in the taco section was super rude and had an attitude the whole time. I proceeded to ask for a fresh pressed juice and the lady didn't even bother to clean out the machine from the previous juice she made and half Of my juice was the previous juice. The juice was nasty and lady and rude manager both refused to remake my order even after I kindly asked them too. The place is always full and they can't keep the line going. There was a line of 20 people while i was there and it took a good 20 minutes to get through. This was about 1 pm. We wait because the food is good but the wait is frustrating. Pro's Ranch Market is the Latin-American equivalent of Lee Lee or Mekong Supermarket here. Awesome fresh produce, lots of freshly prepared foods, a good bakery section, and cheap fresh meats. The aisles are easy to navigate through, and they do have more standard type stuff you'd find at other grocery stores such as Coke and Pepsi (although they do have the Latin branded soda too, such as Sidral). Their prepared foods section is amazing. Various cheeses, meats, salsas, and hot foods such as tamales, tacos, and elote await your taste buds. They have great deals on family meals as well. For instance, we decided to get family meal "A" which included 1 lb of meat (carnitas, chicken, or.... can't remember the other meat, probably beef), beans, rice, 18 corn tortillas, and salsa for $10.99. It was definitely enough food to feed 4 people, and everything tasted excellent. For those with a sweet tooth, they even have a candy section where you can order your sugary treat of choice at the counter. I'd like to go here again when I'm thirsty and try one of their Aguas Frescas! Also, when I went here I was excited to get a bag of freshly roasted jalapenos, but they were all out that day : (. Came here with my Lea and her nephew. We had two enchilada plates , one green one red. The minion had two steak tacos with rice and beans. The enchiladas fell apart in my mouth, the chicken and cheese mixed and created a delicious combination of flavors. The minion child says, "thumbs up", on the tacos. Over all I would come back. Sorry to say but the savings are not worth the experience, the last few times I've gone in there have been only 2-3 cashiers and they all have lines of 10+ people, it's seriously ridiculous, you have two or three things and wait an hour to get the the checkout. I don't know if they've just been seriously understaffed or maybe they aren't very appreciated because the cashiers that are there working seem unhappy every single time, there is no pep in anything from what I've experienced.
