I needed a tow to a repair shop, and called my insurance company at about 8:45am to schedule it. Ten minutes later I received an email from the insurance company that the tow truck would arrive around 10:15am. At 10:35, I called Chuck's because the tow truck still hadn't arrived and I hadn't heard from them. Their excuse was that "it's a Monday" (as if that's supposed to mean something) and that it would be another 20 minutes. No real apology. At 11:25, I called my insurance company to let them know the tow truck still hadn't arrived (now over an hour late). They tried to reach the towing company and it took them over ten minutes to get through to someone. Once again, I was told it would be "about another 20 minutes." It didn't actually arrive until 12:30pm, almost four hours after my original call to the insurance company. On the 40 minute drive to the repair center, it was raining and there was construction. The driver spent time looking at his cell phone twice. During one of those times, we drifted far enough to the left shoulder that I was afraid we were going to leave the road and go down an embankment. At another time, he was apparently also not paying attention (though not looking at his phone) and was lucky there was no one in the left lane, otherwise I don't think we would have been able to stop in time before hitting a line of cars that had slowed to a crawl in our lane. They did get me and my car to my destination in one piece, but I would not recommend this towing company. read more

Had to have a lock out done. Two men show up, No introduction or hello, Neither person wearing a mask. Use the wrong tool to unlock the car. Unlock the car with assistance from my brother. Leave without saying a word. In the truck before I could even retrieve my wallet for a tip. By far the rudest people I've ever come across. I'd rather wait 2 hours next time then have Justin ever touch my car again. Didn't even have me sign anything saying they came out. Guess I'll use the tip and buy someone lunch. read more

I recently had to have my car towed and Chucks was the company that showed up. Not my choice, they were sent by the dealer where I purchase the car. Although the response was pretty quick, everything else was a disaster. The first driver seemed not to have a clue what he was doing. He seemed confused and unsure of what he needed to do. He ended up dragging my car several feet before realizing he wasn't able to tow my vehicle and telling me he didn't have the right truck to complete the job. Another driver showed up rather quickly and had no trouble. There was still a discrepancy as to where my car was to be brought but that wasn't the fault of the 2nd driver. Knowing what I know now, If I had a choice I would've called someone else read more

I called my insurance company when my car would not start..Geico sent Chuck's Towing from Chicopee instead of a Towing Company in my City of Northampton. I was told it would be 1 1/2 hours. Well we waited 1 1/2 hours and no Chuck's Towing who are 30 minutes away from my house to begin with! When I called to find out where they were I was told it would be another 45 minutes...a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes if their estimate was correct...after reading the horrible reviews on their towing service, I called Geico back and spoke with a Supervisor. Explained that they dispatched a towing company that was 30+ minutes from my house and that they told us it would be 1 1/2 hours for Chuck's. I then explained that Chuck's told me it would be another 45 minutes or over 2 + hours before they got to my house. Geico cancelled Chuck's and was able to get Ernie's in town to come to my house - these guys are always on time and very professional unlike Chuck's...if I have anything to say....Chuck's will not be on Geico's list of tow companies....horrible service! read more

This is about their TOWING experience.... THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! Geico dispatched them and I waited for about an HOUR before I reached out to Chuck's (because that was their ETA according to Geico). The person at Chuck's said that they were, "... short handed and the only tow truck was out of the area, so you'll have to call Geico and find another tow truck company." AND NO ONE FELT THE NEED TO CONTACT GEICO OR ME TO INFORM US THAT THEY WERE NOT COMING??? When asked WHY they didn't inform us, they didn't have an answer. Totally UNPROFESSIONAL! Wasted my time. Something that should have taken under two hours is now taking FIVE HOURS while we find another tow truck company. 8pm pushing past 1am. Do NOT use them for their towing services. They suck. I said it and I'm not taking that back.This happened on 8/16/20. I felt the need to add more, here, since I gave an awesome review to another tow truck company that showed up right after them. Chuck's was supposed to show up TWO TIMES the SAME DAY. First time they did, the next time they not. Let me clarify... The first time that they actually DID show up, the driver was supposed to try to get my battery to charge (which was a different service from the second one). He couldn't get it to charge. Now, it was at this point that he offered to tow my car home for a smaller fee than what Geico would charge (under the table, you could say). I feel two ways about this. Initially it was nice that he was willing to help me out. BUT, when you factor in that I couldn't roll up my windows AND I couldn't ride with him (company covid rules) AND he couldn't wait for MY ride to show up so that I could follow him to make sure he dropped my car off to my house, then you can see why I declined the offer. BUT, then much later I thought, "What if this was the plan the whole time?" Whatever happened to my car would have ultimately been my fault and I'd be up schit's creek with no paddle. It also didn't help that he was impatient while I was trying to get in touch with Geico to make sure that Chuck's could tow me home (you know... so that there's a record of them doing so and make sure that they are accountable for anything that happened to the vehicle while in their possession) and the driver kept saying that he had to go and had "things to do." The driver ultimately took off without towing me. To make matters worse on Chuck's end, the second tow truck company that arrived was able to get my car battery working in... TWO TRIES. Two measly cable adjustments. THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE TO TOW ME! I drove my car home! So, with that being said, I don't trust this company, one bit. Stay away from Chuck's Auto Body and Towing. You might get lucky and they might be able to something right once in a while, but do you want to bet that the once in a while will be with you? Take my advice... stay away! read more

I thought we had a serious electronic problem that would take days to fix...car was dead in the driveway, giving weird notices about locks not functioning. Chuck's tow truck showed up within 15 minutes of the call. Best of all, the kind driver (sorry, promptly forgot his name) checked out the battery first, which was not simple as we have a Prius hybrid and it's a bit tricky to find the proper location to jump-start it. But he knew just what to do, and even sleuthed out the reason our battery had died: a cabin light had been on for the three days since we'd last used the car. I didn't even see it until he pointed it out. He was professional, friendly, and so very very helpful---I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Chucks towing is the worst. Our insurance co contacted them for a tow. At 5:45, well past the 1 hour quoted, we contacted them and were told they were backed up and it would be another hour. We agreed to wait since there was no other service available that could be there sooner. Another hour later, we called again, to be told they were really backed up and it would be another 2 hours!!! What is wrong with people??? If you can't provide the service, DONT ACCEPT THE JOB. Just the worst. I'm a patient person, but honestly, this company is terrible. Avoid them at all costs. If your insurance company tells you they are your tow, ask for a different company. If you go with Chucks Towing, you'll regret it. read more

Strong suggestion that you never use this service. One of their tow truck drivers with a car on board tried to run me off the road today. No possible excuse. It was intentional. He apparently does not like the idea of alternate merging. What's more important in a way is that when I called the company, Erika was defensive and snippy; and the owner has not called back as she said he would. I don't know about their other work but in the towing department at least this driver needs driver training and probably anger management. Management and owner need customer service training. The car on the tow truck was an expensive BMW. It is at risk in this driver's hands and I am glad it is not my vehicle. I gave them one star because nothing less it is available on yelp. read more

Chucks towed a vehicle to my repair facility that had snapped a control arm and bent the tire back into the fender. Plenty of room to place the vehicle,but their inconsiderate tow truck driver dropped the vehicle across both my bay doors after hours. When I came in the next morning I had two customers waiting for appointments that I was unable to do until I jacked the vehicle up,put it on dollys,and towed it out of the way. Both my customers were unable to wait and had to leave irritated. Then took another 45 minutes out of my day to move the vehicle. I called and spoke to Mr. Chuck about getting some reimbursement. His Excuse was "I have never reimbursed someone for having a bad day" If a tow truck driver is dumb enough to block two entrances to a business, I can only imagine their carelessness in towing peoples cars. read more
