I recently picked up my vehicle from Sturbridge Auto Collision and had a very disappointing…read moreexperience. After getting my car back, I found that my center console had been gone through and items were missing, including a full cup of change (mostly quarters) and a pair of sunglasses. This was not the condition of my vehicle when I dropped it off. When I tried to address the issue, I had to call multiple times and leave several messages before getting a response. It took repeated attempts to reach the owner. When I finally did, I was told there was no reason for anyone to access the center console and that their employees would not do such a thing. Rather than showing concern or willingness to look into what happened, the response felt dismissive and unsympathetic. I was also told the paperwork I signed protects them from any responsibility for missing items, while they denied any involvement and said they had photos showing the car, including the center console, untouched, even though they also stated there would be no reason for anyone to go into it. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication, lack of urgency in returning calls, and lack of empathy or effort to investigate the situation in a meaningful way. Unfortunately, my insurance required me to use an in-network repair facility, so I had little choice but to use this shop. Based on my experience, I would think twice before leaving your vehicle in their care. Fortunately, I had already removed most of my belongings.

Anyway a major local tire center told us they couldn't fix the hole but directed us to Main Street Auto. Like a nascar pit crew the mechanic had the nail out and plug in....fingers crossed. I had four snow tires on rims swapped out with four summer tires, also on rims, and they also topped up the tire pressure. The next day, I noticed a warning light for low tire pressure, but didn't think much of it b/c the tire pressure monitors sometimes get fluky after a tire change. A couple of days later, I got a dashboard warning "TIRE NEEDS AIR NOW." When I went to fill the tire in question though, the valve was bent and half broken. So after the holiday weekend, I was able to limp back to the shop with the nearly flat tire, told the supervisor guy what happened and got the valve replaced. Unfortunately, I did not have the receipt for the original work when the valve got broken, so I went back the next day with the receipt. I was stunned when they refused to take responsibility for the cracked valve, although I explained to the guy in charge that they had been the last folks to touch the valve before I discovered that it was broken. He was dismissive, told me I should have brought it back sooner, claimed the tire couldn't possibly have held any air for a week, and insinuated that I had somehow broken the valve, essentially calling me a liar. I'm pissed. As I said, I had been taking my car there for years, BUT THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN AN HONEST BUSINESS. It cost me $124 because they refused to admit their screwup and sought to blame me instead. Anyone want to be next?
