Love Chulas been there many times. Great food and good service. We like the tacos and the atmosphere is nice as well.

Not what we expected, we went by the reviews and was very disappointed and will not return. We had the steak fajita's, the steak was tough and not a typical sizzling fajita with a regular taco seasoning. We also has the burrito, enchilada and taco. It was nothing to brag about but the proportions were small and did not fill me, lucky for me, my wife did not like the fajitas so i finished them off. Nothing else seems to work, the refried beans tasted scorched, the rice was dry, but to top it all off, was the full tomato stem in the salsa. Very Disappointed. We placed a to go order and we didn't get wraps for out fajitas. My onions were under cooked and the peppers were more of a decoration. The tamale was cold and tasteless and seemed to be microwaved, I've never seen a burnt tamale. My wife is Italian and makes a better enchilada. We called yesterday to order and we were asked to call back later because they were busy. This place will not last with such a large menu. If the owners have past restaurant experience it does not show! Don't waste your time or money. Go to Vallartas in Tampa and get the real deal. Still no decent Mexican in Spring Hill! This place is a crap hole. I ordered a two item entree and got a burrito and taco and the burrito was the size of an egg roll . The taste....horrible. Asked the waitress to take it back and no I didn't want anything else. There is a reason my food came out within two minutes cause it's crap. Go to Taco Bell at least it's fresher. read more

I've passed this place many times & tonight I decided to give it a try. When we arrived at 5pm, we were the only ones there but by the time we left the place was 3/4 full & there were people still walking in the door. The restaurant was immaculate. The decor including the table & chairs were colorful & unique. Comfortable atmosphere. The staff greeted us with hellos, welcomes & smiles . Our server, STEVEN was excellent! I asked for a recommendation & he was spot on. I ordered the steak & shrimp & my guest had the tacos al carbon. My steak was flavorful & tender. It was smothered in grilled onions & peppers. Atop of that were 3 flavorful grilled shrimp on a skewer. The tacos were tender. Both plates were plentiful! Even though those 2 dishes were really good, when I return I will try something different. Fried icecream was our dessert. Plenty to share. Steven recommended the flan - I will try that next time. Everything is fresh and made in house. Fab fiancée and yours truly were craving some 'good' Mexican food. This was our first time at Chulas. Being a cool and calm Florida Friday evening, we chose to dine in the cozy screened-in area. We had it all to ourselves for a while, so I told luscious fiancée babe that I had reserved it just for us! Oh, the love looks she was giving me......ahhhhhhhhhh. Darn, that didn't last too long. Soon after, a group of 3 were seated in our screened oasis. Kinda spoiled our fantasy date, my little ruse was exposed! Oh well. We both ordered frozen Margarita's to get the night started. Babelicious ordered the lime Margarita, I ordered the strawberry. Mine was okay, decent but nothing special. Hers, however? Not so good! No es bueno! Tasted like a cheap store-bought mix and kind of watered down. I believe there are 3 measures to gauge a 'good' Mexican restaurant: 1. Great salsa and chips! (Chulas salsa was pretty good, nice chunks in it. Chips were okay) 2. Great guacamole! (Unbelievably, I did NOT get a chance to try Chulas. Will update on that) 3. Great Margaritas! (Goes hand in hand with 1 and 2. That's part of the fun of Mex cuisine) (Chulas needs to do some serious work on their Margaritas) (It would be a good investment!) Next! Let's get to the food. She ordered the Pollo(chicken) Chimichanga, for $9.95. What she got was a mountain of mouthwatering Mexican miscellany. HUGE portions, NO grabbing the magnifying glass to find the food! The aromas from the kitchen languished lazily, rising in a swirling eddy of steam and heat. Pungent and powerful spicy notes danced happily at our noses. Gorgeous gal gleefully put temptation aside and dug in. I witnessed a finessed, but delicate food frenzy that befit a queen. Her highness was happy! I ordered the Dos Burritos plate, for $9.95. I received the equivalent K2 mountain to her Mount Everest plate of Mexican munchies. I got the chicken burritos filled with refried beans, topped with ranchero sauce and garnished with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. Served with rice and beans. I soon was as wrapped up in my meal as a burro in a blanket on a blustery night! Our server Asia (great name, huh?) was awesome! She was bubbly, cheerful and totally made us feel welcome! She even laughed at my jokes, so I know she's got it going on! Give her a raise! In closing(finally?), our night at Chulas was fabuloso! Great food and service, clean and neat restaurant. Keep up the good work with the food. Keep those flavors fresh. But, please Chulas, put some serious thought into your Margaritas. Don't scrimp on such a signature item. Become FAMOUS, at least locally, for having the best DAMN Margaritas around! That'll seal the deal for us! read more

Food was fine. Nothing special. They couldn't make anything on the grill but didn't tell us until after drinks and chips were served and we went to order. Chips and salsa were average. Got the bill and we were charged a credit card fee even though we paid in cash. All in all it was okay but we weren't impressed enough to go back. read more

I think I've found the answer as to why attitude and subpar food was served yesterday. I haven't confirmed it yet, but Chula's Mexican Grill quietly turned into Chula's Mexican Restaurant. This is usually the sign of demise for a once hot and lively local. It's perfectly fine to buy a thriving hot little restaurant that's usually packed all weekend long. But, don't expect your customers not to notice the changes, the attitude from staff who've probably seen their wages/tips plummet. The menu shrinking to half or fewer choices from the original and becoming bland and flavorless. The lack of any other patrons on what used to be a packed, noisy, lively Saturday afternoon. So, to the host/waiter that gave me crap about my lack of shoes, I forgive you. I'm sure you're just towing the new corporate line of uniformity and intolerance. To the cook/microwaver, I forgive you for either being forced to deliver food below grandmas standards or for not having grandma ingrain standards into you. To the new owners, I forgive you for thinking business would be the same after making changes to everything that people liked about Chula's. So, long Chula's you were good while you lasted. It's probably not the best idea to get an attitude with your only customers on a Saturday afternoon. Especially over something trivial that isn't even a law. Lovely place! Staff is pleasant. Space is neat and clean. Food is tasty and drinks are reasonably priced. New menu format is easier to read, but not sure what they removed. If anything. Spanish music can be a touch loud at times, but not overly so. Definitely try the Enchiladas Cuarteto! The Rellenos' are ok, but they don't have a crispy version. Maybe that's a Colorado thing lol. Beer is tasty and cheap, just wish they'd chill the mugs. read more

Date night! I was a little pessimistic about Mexican food in Spring Hill. We've tried other Mexican food before since moving down here from Chicago. Nothing compared. Chulas was a delicious surprise! The food was tasty and filling. A bit pricey, but still quality. The atmosphere is very cute and I could see coming back and drinking a margarita(or 2), on their patio. Our waitress was awesome! Very sweet and knowledgeable and she kept the free chips and salsa coming! Overall, I gave Chulas 4 stars. Chicago will always be the best in this Chicago girls eyes! read more

We were happy to stumble across this place and so close to home! Very clean and well maintained place. Chips and salsa free for the table and chips were EH but salsa was good. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas which tasted watered down but since it looked like they only have a beer and wine license, I guess that's what you get. :) I ordered the Mango Shrimp Tacos and they were very good though it was not very filling and I can eat! LOL Loved my husbands dish which was supposed to be the Pork Spicy Enchilada which was not spicy at all. I can say that because I can't really tolerate too much spice. Oh my goodness. I'm not understanding the negative comments. I ate there today, for the first time, on recommendation of a friend. I do not like spice and cannot even tolerate Taco Bell's seasonings. That said, I LOVED this place. I'm not a Mexican foodie, but I cannot wait to go back. I got the "Buritto California". It was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. The presentation was beautiful. I have always been very pleased with this restaurant, and today was no exception. I drove 40 min to get carry out here and am not disappointed again. I have eaten at Chulas for 7 years and never gotten a bad meal ... they are always exceptional. I would recommend them highly. To start off, I would like to say that I wasn't expecting much from this restaurant but I was mistaken. When we got there we were greeted and then seated by our waitress. The menu was very detailed and they had many options to choose from. We started off with chips and salsa (we asked if they could bring cheese for us and they did and by the way the cheese is amazing! definitely recommend) The entrées were also very delicious (we ordered a burritos plate and flautas). The overall atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable. Definitely will recommend this place to everyone and would love to go again soon. read more

I was seated and after 8 minutes and seeing others come in and get service after me I had to go to the bar from my table to ask for help. The chips are think and not the usual light and crispy. The cheese dip had minimal of any flavor and the salsa was more like thick pizza sauce. The dinks were ok, but really not worth trying a second meal since I was not crazy about it the first time and had apparently forgotten how I disliked the salsa and cheese did. My experience was quite different than the other reviewers. Ordered Take out for my first visit. Was not disappointed. While Mexican food varied with region, so does the level of patrons and what they are used to. For me, this was good, fresh and not too heavy. I think it's fair to say that if you like it spicy, order with extra spices otherwise the taste comes through without the fire. The fajitas were very good and still hot when I got home. They pkg very well. The Flauntas were crispy and plentiful with plenty of sauces on the side. Do yourself a favor, try it and if you like spicy, ask for it in your heat tolerance level. The salsa is quality. I prefer a little more bite but it was perfect for my wife. The ingredients were roasted. Nice touch. They kept it coming freely. My wife had the flautas and I had the tacos al pastor. Her flautas were light and crispy not at all greasy or oily. Very nice! The meat was well seasoned. The side of frijoles was homestyle. The sever recommended a delicious, huge burrito and we had it the next morning for breakfast. The margaritas are tasty and perfect. Tried the lime. We were so impressed by Chulas and went back the next night. I ll have to say the strawberry margarita is even better.. however, we ll never go back. One HELL of a place to order from!!! Put in an order thru DoorDash for three meal items. Sure enough, all three were Screwed Up! Meal #1 was a ground beef taco salad, extra sour cream, and it came with steak instead of ground beef, which my wife can't eat. Meal #2 was a shrimp taco salad, lite on the sour cream and it came with extra sour cream. Meal #3 was a grilled shrimp quesadillas which didn't arrive at all!! OK, so, we tried calling our DoorDash driver thru both phone and face time, and guess what? NO ANSWER! Called Chulas Mexican Grill and they said "sorry" but they could only give us credit or we could place a new order. Ya know what, we were still hungry so we placed a new order which meant we paid again for two 3rds of our original order which they screwed up in the first place. Terrible experience with my mother and sisters. The server was in a terrible mood instantly when he found out a table of 4 women ordered chips and salsa, 2 bowls of cheese dip, jalapeños and sour cream. We just wanted a little mid-afternoon snack and got that and a lot of attitude. he couldn't/wouldn't keep our drinks, salsa or chips filled. The food was good, chips were hot but he charged us $30. Didn't even eat all the dip because we didn't get enough chips. $4 x 2 for chips/salsa and $6 x 2 for cheese dip, $1 x 2 for jalapeños and $3 for tea. He was so rude, service was slow. We just paid , tipped very little and will never go back. We are in the food biz and very good tippers generally, he really messed up. Too many Mexican restaurants to go to. I ordered take out Grilled Chicken Casa-Dia. To go.....When I arrived home the shock on my wife,s face was awful....Raw not grilled, no peppers and onions. Only dark chicken and cheese in a soggy piece of taco shell. Every piece was the same.Awful. I returned to the restaurant, only to be told it was cooked..Came back all thrown in the box because it was 98% soggy. Far from a grilled chicken Dinner the ladies cooked for me many times before. I am out the cost of a meal because it's in the garbage and in- edible....No excuse for serving a customer something like that. I recommend the restaurant. Just don't have the man prepare your food. Chulas at 4 corners is a joke of a restaurant. I was given a gift card for $50 as a Christmas gift and have not been to the restaurant until today. Went to pay for lunch and it showed $0 balance. Was told to come back later because there was no manager so that's what we did. 3 hours after we ate we tried to go get this problem fixed and was told they couldnt fo anything about it. There was no transactions on the card but yet the $50 was just gone. So this is how they run a business?!?! That is the last time we will ever go back there. Not only was the food mediocre, at best, it was hot as hell inside and apparently they like to screw ppl over by taking money and never putting it onto the gift card. read more

Today the restaurant had celebrated Cinco De Mayo and the place was packed with customers. The people that were there you can tell that they were having a great time especially with a Mariachi gentlemen singing which everyone so enjoyed. It was awesome to see people dance and our food lets not forget about that was sooo delicious. Our server's name was Saul and he did his best in keeping us happy even though he was busy his service was excellent. The company and staff members were pleasant at all times. I am so happy that my husband and I decided to come here for dinner and we did not go somewhere else. No regrets Best Mexican restaurant in town!! As for the price for a couple to share a meal it was in my opinion reasonable.
