They got me with the menu in front of my door, honestly, but I always like trying new places so I didn't mind. I ordered the lemon poppy kale salad ($10) with kale, carrots, tomatoes, almonds, raisins, and mango. It was a huge portion with giant kale pieces. The mango was my favorite. Everything was fresh and I did like it but I wasn't necessarily wowed. I also ordered some fried wontons (~$8). These were really great. I totally forgot that they were vegan so I don't think there was meat in them and I'm not entirely sure what I was eating, but I know I liked it! The delivery took over an hour. I imagine it's because due to their marketing, they got a lot of orders at once. I can't blame anyone for that, but something to keep in mind. However, you get two, and the sauce is very tasty. The fries could have been more crispy for my liking. However, it did taste good. General Tso chicken ( they give enough for 3 meals), I ate some already in the pictures. Spinach in garlic and broccoli in garlic sauce is the bomb. You can't not buy from lotus without trying the spring rolls with the sauce . The boneless spare ribs are the as well (enough for three meals). My sweet basil soy protein entree was almost enough for two meals, had plenty of protein that was pleasantly crisp at the edges, and complemented the haricots verts and sweet basil sauce really nicely. My partner ordered veggie lo mein, which I found to be overcooked to the point of mushiness. Noodles without any chew to them are a dealbreaker for me. The food was prepared with seemingly no skill. The flavor profiles were off, things were either over or undercooked. The Tofu in my dish was watery. I could not tell what the faux meat dish was made of--soy, tofu, seitan? Who knows, but it had a rubbery, unenjoyable texture. One dish of many was edible. The bbq fried rice was the most decent dish. I spent $50 on food there and that was the only enjoyable dish I had. I didn't even enjoy the dessert and I love dessert. I loved this place years ago and was obsessed with the chicken nuggets. Tried it out again and I am happy to say this place is still great!! We ordered the sesame chicken and beef with broccoli. It was so delicious. Just to be clear I am NOT a vegetarian! So for all the meat-eaters out there looking to add to their meatless Monday or whatever, this place is fantastic! I only wish I lived closer so I could order it more often. I can't wait to try out a few more dishes. I had my food ordered and delivered directly from their website. Went here recently and I confirm what others have said - solid food, large portions, good service. I had the Singapore Chow Mei Fun (curry stir fry with rice noodles) and Basil Soy Protein and both were excellent, lots of "meat" chunks. By the way maybe it was just what I ordered but the sauces were not too sweet, as they can often be at Chinese places. read more

I feel like my orders are always packed nicely and come warm, usually I'll reheat them. I highly recommend the sesame chicken especially if you're new to veganism/vegetarianism. Lotus Vegetarian does a terrible job at a simple task. We ordered mapo tofu and it has no color. It's white, has no sauce, and has frozen peas and carrots in it. You can literally make perfect mapo tofu with sauce from a jar. read more

Everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered carryout and got a carrot juice, fried wontons, vegetable dumplings, Tom yum soup, and black pepper seitan. I could tell the carrot juice was freshly made. The wontons were crispy and garlicky, the dumplings were perfectly steamed, the Tom yum soup was full of veggies and the perfect amount of both hot and sour, and the seitan was to die for. The texture and flavor were both perfect. The portions were also great, especially for the main entree. I have 5 wontons, 2 dumplings, and probably 2/3 of the seitan dish leftover and I'm stuffed (and this is leftover after sharing some with my roommates) but I want to keep eating it because it was so good. read more

I ordered a vegan dish recently the Sweet Basil Soy protein, but the soy protein has a odd fishy after taste. I'm confused to why it's listed as vegan. I would say perhaps it's in the homemade sauce. Whatever they're putting in the sauce needs to be omitted if so. Otherwise putting it on the menu as vegan is just false advertisement. read more
