Luanne's Wild Ginger serves Pan Asian Cuisine and has several locations that include one in Fort Greene & another in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn. Luanne's Wild Ginger at this specific location is on Franklin Ave in the Crown Heights setcion of Brooklyn. Close to a host of other eateries such as Ras, MISC, Chavela's, etc. as well as local bars / hang-out spots Altar, The Rum Bar, etc. Luanne's is accessible via the 2,3,4, & 5 trains to Franklin Ave. Luanne's is a casual establishment w/ indoor standard table & booth-style seating options. We have been to Luanne's numerous times for dinner, and the dishes have been prepared well. We have had the following while dining at Luanne's: Stuffed Wontons -( Tapioca Cheddar & Spinach w/ Red Mango Dip) Spring Rolls - (Shredded Cabbage, Green Beans, Carrot, Mushrooms, Onions & Tofu) Cold Green Tea Noodles in Sesame Peanut Sauce Dumplings - (Minced Carrots, Potatoes, Mushrooms w/ Soy Protein) Black Pepper Seitan - (Seitan Medallions over Baby Bok Choy w/ Shiitake Garnish) Pumpkin Soup (White Beans, Sweet Potato & Kumbucha Pumpkin w/ Cilantro Garnish) - Had it recently & it was so good! Kimchi Yaki Udon - (Spicy Sautéed Basil-Ginger So, Mushrooms) Malaysian Curry Comfort Stew - (Mild Spicy, Yellow-Coconut Curry w/ Soy Medallion Kabucha Pumpkin & Broccoli). Dumplings, Spring Rolls, Kimchi Yaki Udon & Malaysian Comfort Curry Stew are definite favorites. Everything has tasted fresh and delicious. Passionfruit Ginger Sake has been ordered, and the passionfruit in it definitely has an interesting subtle flavor. The Hibiscus Kumbucha was a hit. The next time that I visit Luanne's, I will try their White Sangria. Website - luanneswildginger.com Instagram - @luanneswildginger Open Sun. - Thurs. - 12pm - 10:30pm + Fri. & Sat. - 12pm - 11pm. Luanne's Wild Ginger also has Happy Hour.

Oh my word!!!! LuAnne's! Where have you been all my life? (considering the fact I don't even live in NYC... but that's beside the point) LOL! The food here is ah-maze-zing!! For real! Come see for yourself *Ariel Fitz* First of all when you walk on the atmosphere is quite welcoming and you're greeted with polite, cheerful people. The menu items/descriptions alone are appetizing. I had the pan-fried Dumplings, LuAnne's Mix salad and Pineapple Fried Rice. Lemme tell you, these portions are HUGE!! And although everything was so delicious I couldn't eat it all, but that didn't stop me from ordering something extra to go. (wink) #greedymuch? They're definitely a new addition to my "fav" list. For sure...I'll be back *Terminator*

Had some great noodles at Luanne's. I'm a big fan of their meat substitutes and their service was super fast and easy. The menu gives you lots to choose from and everything is vegan! They have a cute backyard area that's great when the weather is warmer. They're a solid dinner choice and they do a lot of takeout so there is after space inside for seating anytime.

Came here last Monday on a date around 6:20pm. Backyard was closed so we opted for a table by the open window. The service here is really terrific, they are on it without being overbearing. Ordered my usual crispy soy, great but I do miss the old dipping sauce they used to pair it with. Got the mango lassi for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it! My date got the pad Thai and an iced tea. Pad Thai was absolutely massive so she took most of it to go. A wonderful, kosher, vegan, pan Asian cuisine spot!

If like me you are not vegan but like vegan food once in a while as a healthy meal, this place is good. I can't talk for the authenticity of the Asian food here, but as far as flavor, this is pretty good for a vegan meal. I also like that there are option that will satisfy my kid, who unfortunately is a picky eater, such as crispy soy protein nuggets, which are actually delicious. The salt and pepper king oyster mushrooms, the tempura, and the scallion pancake with hoisin sauce and mango salsa are also great, tasty choices if you want dishes to share. Other dishes I would recommend are the bo bun noodle salad, the bibim bap, the jap che, the black bean sizzling soy cutlet platter, the sweet and sour sesame soy, the eggplant with garlic and basil (really delicious!), and the big miso noodle bowl. In fact, I don't think I've tried a dish I didn't like here. Prices are reasonable for this neighborhood, with main courses priced at around $15. I also like their drinks including kombucha, mango lassi, and lychee mojito, all very reasonably priced. They have a lovely patio in the back, service is usually fast, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. What's not to like?

Nice lunch specials. Cozy place. Attentive and fast service. Didn't realize it had only vegan options. Had the pad Thai which was really very good and full of spicy flavor! The black pepper szechan was disappointing in flavor and can't recommend. Homemade Sangria was good as well.

Honestly all of my vegetarian friends bring me here and everyone loves it and has a good time so I will give this an extra star for my friends mainly who come here and rave about it. On my end I actually eat meat so I don't have a really great thing to say about most of the food here because I am not in love with it, not because it's vegetarian but mostly because their food lacks asian flavor. As an Asian person I understand the authenticity of these kind of places as lacking and I think I asked one of the people working there if they had fish sauce and they shrugged it off and had no idea what I was talking about. I know that there are vegetarian fish sauce out there and for my vermicelli bowl I would like vegetarian fish sauce instead of sweet and sour sauce. The "curry ramen" had good flavor but didn't have ramen noodle but had another kind of noodle so for me that didn't make sense. The flavors of most of the dishes here are fusion and not where you go to eat authentic Asian food. They also take a really long time to make the orders and also give your meals separately so while my meal was getting cold I wanted my friends to have their meals too but it took way too long. I would hope for them to improve the management with the time making the meals to make sure we all have a meal at the same time... I don't know if that's basic restaurant quality or if I'm expecting too much but these are my thoughts. I would recommend Spicy Moon for my fellow vegetarians over this place.

Food is delicious! All vegan spot. Its light and filling. It had a dark romantic ambiance, they also have a backyard if you want to eat outdoors. The service is good. Place is quiet and relaxing. They have wine and sake if you want to get lit lol

Nothing to write home about in my opinion. Service could've been much better. Came on a Thursday evening with very few people seated on the patio (where we were), and no one inside but still felt as if we weren't attended to. Everything seemed rushed. They were doing construction on a bench behind us while we were eating our appetizers (???), and didn't pay any mind to us after we ordered our entrees. The food was alright. Not sure I'd be back.

It's my go-to place to go with friends! Good drinks, good food, good vibes the steamed dumplings, kimchi yaki udon, and ginger miso ramen are my favorite dishes!

Our server was great and tried to accommodate as best as he could. We were very disappointed with the food. I was bummed they were out of the oxtail eggrolls. The items we ordered lacked flavor and just didn't hit. We ordered the chicken satay, the peanut sauce was a bit too thick and in our opinion didn't compliment the chicken and the chicken tasted pretty greasy. I ordered the shrimp dumplings and really enjoyed those. I also ordered the sea bass. It was a bit bland and the rice that was served on the side was hard. They are a sister restaurant to the even fancier Chinese Tuxedo, with a menu that leans primarily towards ASEAN/Southeast Asian countries. The place was slightly loud and somewhat dim for photos, but thankfully, we were in a separate room, so the noise was muffled. The food was overall pretty good, though I prefer some other spots. This is especially given the price point, but it is nice to have solid representations of food from many different countries. To drink, I remember not being in the mood for a cocktail, so I went for the $14 Fiery Forge with Pathfinder hemp spirit, Lyre's Italian orange, pineapple, five spice, and pomelo soda. It had mild spices and a lot of citrus, and it was decent. The first dish that arrived happened to be the best, the $38 Crispy Lamb Ribs with a Cambodian sweet & sour sauce. The ribs were crispy on the outside while remaining very tender inside, with the fat properly cooked as well. I was also happy that they weren't overly sweet either. This was very tasty and one of our easy favorites. The Roasted Duck Breast for $32 with Chinese celery, Thai basil, dragon eye fruit, and plum dressing was also solid. The duck was cooked nicely, being tender with a mildly fatty texture, and the dressing was thankfully not overly sweet. I do wish there was a bit more dragon eye fruit/longan, but it was solid. Also tasty, but the most expensive, was the 'Crying Tiger' Grilled Sirloin Steak for $46 with aromatic herbs, spicy tamarind dressing, and toasted rice. I have had this dish, also known as Suea rong hai, in many Isan/northeastern Thai spots, and this was solid. The steak was cooked nicely, and the dressing had a mild kick, with some roasted chilis for those who want a bit more heat. My only complaint is that I wish this were also served, as per usual, with sticky rice, as it's already a pricey version of this dish, and even cheaper places serve this traditional accompaniment. The Newton Circus Sambal Stingray, for $28, with roasted skate and sambal belachan, was alright. It was comparable to most Malaysian and Singaporean spots serving this dish, though I preferred a slightly stronger sambal at some spots, and the fish was cooked better at others. The portion size was also daintier, although at least we didn't have to deal with the fish bones. For a better version at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Wok Wok nearby, on Mott Street near Confucius Square. Last and least was the Singaporean Chili Crab Fried Rice for $28 with hand-picked Jonah crab and lobster oil. This is famous here, and I don't really see it. I liked the fried rice's seasoning and crunch. However, the sweet chili sauce overpowered whatever little crab there was. For a similar price, I would recommend the nearby Phoenix Palace, which had more crab flavor and was more balanced. The food overall was good. If this were in another neighborhood, I would probably recommend it more, but there are other spots for ASEAN food that are a bit more reasonably priced and of better quality. It's still good, though, and certainly better than many other Pan-Asian places. This would be another 3.5, but that doesn't exist, so I'll round up.

The quality of the food, particularly the desserts, was relatively good. We did the tasting menu…read morenumber 2 and particularly enjoyed the rock shrimp appetizer and the black pepper beef entree as well as the dessert sampler. The pacing of the meal for the quantity of food received seemed very rushed, and we didn't really have a chance to relax and enjoy any of the courses. However, the quality of the experience was a complete disaster particularly for the price. Clearly, the packed restaurant would disagree, but for the four of us anyway, we would not return. It started with the check in process at what felt like a long hotel front desk with multiple, self important hosts and hostesses overseeing your entrance to the cavernous bar/waiting area. One problem is the noise is so deafening that you can't really hear what they say to you but we check in a few minutes early and waited obediently in the bar area chatting. After about 30 minutes (15 after our reservation time), and watching numerous parties large and small who arrived after us be seated by the hostesses wandering through the dimly lit space who peer quizzically and ask your name, my husband went to ask for an update. (We joked that those vibrating lighted buzzers alerting when your table was ready would have been super helpful, but it was amusing to watch while we waited). It was clear they somehow lost track of us as she had him repeatedly spell our (not unusual) name. Anyway, after that, within 10 minutes after that we were taken downstairs to our seats (but not before standing awkwardly in the large dining area near packed tables waiting while our table was cleaned). Server with a heavy accent was kind and mostly helpful so none of this is on him. The busser who managed to spill half a pitcher of cold water on my husband's back, soaking his shirt and jacket and barely apologizing, is a whole other story. We managed to get a glass of his mediocre Cabernet comped for the experience. If I sound annoyed, I guess I still am. I had high hopes for a fun and tasty experience in a cool part of the city and it just wasn't.

Our typical dinner: Apps: Fried Oysters, Mochi Fried Tofu and Karaage Chicken before our Ramen and Beef Noodle Soup followed by Dessert: the last time we had Sweet Potato Creme Brûlée and White Chocolate Panna Cotta Pie, and drinks, they have an infused selection of cocktails but I like their Sapporo on tap. Everything is reasonably priced and the visual presentation is top notch every time we go! Having been to Nakamora (LES) and Tonchin (Midtown), Unoriginal Noodles is right on par with any of these and as it gets more and more popular, it will be as hard to get into as any of these as well. It is worth the trip to have a chef who has prior worked at Altro Paradiso, Mercer Kitchen, and Mesa Grill NYC making his passion for your pallet!

I want this place to do well in South Slope, so I'm hoping this review will lead to improvements…read moreand a better experience in the future! We got the tonkatsu and chicken ramen and the main takeaway is that both soups were unflavorful and overpriced. Some might call the broth "light" or "healthy" but neither broth base had any robust taste or accent, even despite the abundance of roasted garlic and onion. Nothing can be made spicy - there was chili oil but it just made the soup oily. The chashu had a nice flavor but was too tough. Having bone in chicken was difficult and unsatisfying. Hopefully some improvements can be made to these recipes as the service and ambience of the restaurant were great!
