This place was such a great surprise. The portions are very generous and everything we tried was delicious. The black goat soup was incredibly aromatic and comforting. And when the braised baby back ribs came to the table -- wow. That moment alone made the visit worth it. The ribs were unbelievably tender and flavorful. The service was also excellent. They have small private rooms that give a lot of privacy, which made the whole experience feel cozy and special. It really reminded me of the vibe of a Korean-style izakaya. So we went there for one dish Agujjim and it's spicy monkfish with bean sprouts. It is very large dish. It is made for two people but there was left over with 3 of us. They have Korean bbq as well and other traditional dishes but did not order due to the portion of what we went for is large. Felt like home here. Delicious and authentic Korean food. Seems like everything is homemade and has great attention to detail. I love the amazing (free) side dishes like the spicy raw marinaded crab and the bean sprouts that come with the entree. We always order the galbijjim (spicy braised baby back rib stew with bean sprouts) and this time we also tried the bosam (braised pork belly). Super tasty and displayed beautifully. We also had the Mandu(dumplings) and seafood pancake (noticed there wasn't a lot of seafood inside). Service is very nice and the restaurant is large great for big groups. Not a bad thing. Just something I wish I'd known beforehand so others don't get confused like I did. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing after a long drive, and I felt a little guilty walking in so late. But the staff welcomed us warmly and didn't make us feel rushed at all. We needed extra time to look through the menu once we realized we couldn't grill at the table, and they patiently waited while we decided. Their kindness honestly put our family in a good mood. We ordered the bossam set and the seafood pancake. The food quality was about what you'd expect from a typical Korean restaurant. My partner and I had heard great things about the "Raw Crab Marinated in Soy Sauce" at Chung Ki Wa, so we decided it was worth the 30-minute drive last weekend. I've tried this dish once before at another spot in Duluth and thought it was just okay, so I was curious to see how this one would compare. We arrived on a Saturday, and right away the staff made us feel welcome. While English wasn't their first language, they were friendly, patient, and genuinely tried to understand my questions, which I really appreciated, especially when I was deciding what to order beyond their popular raw crab. We started with the Raw Crab Marinated in Soy Sauce (around $25), and it definitely lived up to the hype. The dish is supposed to come with five crabs, but the staff kindly added an extra one. The soy-based marinade was savory with just a hint of spice, which complemented the fresh crab beautifully. For my main dish, I ordered the Dae Gu Maewoon Tang (Spicy Cod Stew, $19.99) and made the bold and regrettable decision to ask for it extra spicy. Fair warning: unless you're truly built for intense heat, don't do it. The flavors were excellent, but after a couple of bites my tongue was on fire, and I couldn't finish the bowl. My partner went with the blood sausage stew. He enjoyed the overall flavor but mentioned that all the liver pieces tasted off to him, so he ended up picking those out. We had the Braised Baby Back Ribs, Bibim Bop with beef, and the Seafood & Green Onion Pancake plus a whole bunch of other stuff that came with it and everything was oh so good. We were welcomed in with a smile, sat quickly, and our server was so gracious. It's an older spot so the building shows its age a bit in the inside but it's clean and the food is outstanding. Named after the many culturally significant blue tile roofs that symbolize wealth and prosperity. I would call it more of a family style restaurant (even though they label themselves as BBQ) because most of their famous dishes are jungol braised and shared style. 1 소등갈비찜 Famous Braised Ribs - The most tender and flavorful, falling off the bone, ribs you will ever have. Tons of veg and mouthwatering soup underneath. Enough for a crowd and fun to eat. 2 순대 Soondae - Blood sausage sampler platter included liver and pig ear with whitebait dipping sauce and spicy salt. 3 게장 Raw Marinated Crab - This was the best spicy version of this dish that I've had so far. It used to be a rare dish, but now you can find it at restaurants in the area, and even at Hmart. Most of the entrees they offer are traditional Korean styles of food however they added an extra menu which is a newer style Korean cuisine. Overall the food is great and the service is ok. As a regular customer who has brought many friends, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had here. It was my first day back in Atlanta, and we came to celebrate my friend's birthday, but the night was completely ruined. We always order the braised baby back ribs, which used to come with 6 ribs--today we were served only 4, while the table next to us that ordered the same dish received at least 5. Side dishes have always been unlimited refills, but our server, Jessica, refused to refill them the second time we asked. She also charged us for rice, which has never happened before, and gave us attitude despite us being polite throughout the meal. We were handed the bill 30 minutes before closing while still eating and were repeatedly rushed to leave, even though other tables were not treated the same way. We tipped well anyway, but the service and inconsistency were unacceptable. This experience makes me never want to return. read more

If you're thinking of coming here, think again. This used to be my go-to spot with friends, and I recommended it often. Unfortunately, after today, I won't be returning. We came for my friend's birthday and experienced poor service and disappointing food. We arrived around 9 p.m. and ordered immediately. There were only three of us, so we ordered the special rib dish. We've been here over five times, so we know what to expect. Service was minimal the entire night. When we asked for a refill of the side dish, we were told only one refill was allowed--something that was never an issue on previous visits. The rib portions have clearly declined. What used to be six bones became five, and now we received only four. While we were still eating, our waiter, Jessica, handed us the bill and rushed us to leave with at least 20 minutes to spare. After we left, two other tables were still dining and were never rushed, and those tables also received more ribs--we noticed and counted. On top of that, they now charge for extra rice. Despite barely receiving service, we were met with attitude and a clear stank eye for tipping a few cents under 18%. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience from a place we once loved. If I could rate their service a negative I truly would. read more

We came for lunch, almost got seated immediately, the service was courteous, got barley tea which is interesting. we ordered HUK YUM SOJUN GOL, a hot pot with goat meat and rice; and MUL NANG MYUN, cold buckwheat noodles,. Well, the goat meat in the hot pot was overcooked with almost no shape but not tender, broth was spicy, but not original soup, it's kind of mixed broth, I liked the rice better; for the cold noodles, it's okay, nothing to comment. This is my first time leaving a bad review. I am a regular here and have brought friends, so much so, we came here for my friends birthday. The problems arose when we asked for a refill on what we thought was supposed to be unlimited side dishes. Next, Jessica rushed us out even though other tables stayed longer. She came by our table to remind us it was almost closing MULTIPLE times despite not saying anything to the four other table around us. Our biggest issue was the other table getting more food. We ordered the same thing as the table behind us. On our way out we saw they VISIBLY had significantly more food. We had only 4 beef short ribs while the other table had at least 5. They also dropped the check before we were even done eating, and then gave us attitude for tipping 40 cents under the suggested amount. Not a great way to treat repeat customers. read more
