I visited Chung Ki Wa Korean BBQ thinking it was the kind of place where you grill samgyeopsal (pork belly) right at the table. All the Korean BBQ dishes here come fully cooked from the kitchen. Not a bad thing. Just something I wish I'd known beforehand so others don't get confused like I did. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing after a long drive, and I felt a little guilty walking in so late. But the staff welcomed us warmly and didn't make us feel rushed at all. We needed extra time to look through the menu once we realized we couldn't grill at the table, and they patiently waited while we decided. Their kindness honestly put our family in a good mood. We ordered the bossam set and the seafood pancake. The food quality was about what you'd expect from a typical Korean restaurant. Overall, it's a place worth trying at least once, especially for the friendly service.

My partner and I had heard great things about the "Raw Crab Marinated in Soy Sauce" at Chung Ki Wa, so we decided it was worth the 30-minute drive last weekend. I've tried this dish once before at another spot in Duluth and thought it was just okay, so I was curious to see how this one would compare. We arrived on a Saturday, and right away the staff made us feel welcome. While English wasn't their first language, they were friendly, patient, and genuinely tried to understand my questions, which I really appreciated, especially when I was deciding what to order beyond their popular raw crab. We started with the Raw Crab Marinated in Soy Sauce (around $25), and it definitely lived up to the hype. The dish is supposed to come with five crabs, but the staff kindly added an extra one. The soy-based marinade was savory with just a hint of spice, which complemented the fresh crab beautifully. For my main dish, I ordered the Dae Gu Maewoon Tang (Spicy Cod Stew, $19.99) and made the bold and regrettable decision to ask for it extra spicy. Fair warning: unless you're truly built for intense heat, don't do it. The flavors were excellent, but after a couple of bites my tongue was on fire, and I couldn't finish the bowl. My partner went with the blood sausage stew. He enjoyed the overall flavor but mentioned that all the liver pieces tasted off to him, so he ended up picking those out. Our meal also came with a variety of side dishes, which were mostly spicy but tasty.

Very traditional Korean restaurant. We ordered the tripe casserole, it was clean flavorful and delish. I can't recall a better execution of this this. Came with 6 side dishes including raw marinated crabs. With soju, everything tasted better. Highly recommended.

Hubby and I stopped in for lunch and stuffed our faces with so much deliciousness. We had the Braised Baby Back Ribs, Bibim Bop with beef, and the Seafood & Green Onion Pancake plus a whole bunch of other stuff that came with it and everything was oh so good. We were welcomed in with a smile, sat quickly, and our server was so gracious. It's an older spot so the building shows its age a bit in the inside but it's clean and the food is outstanding. So... much... foood! Hubby is heating up leftovers right now. Take some friends and have a feast!

I've been looking for Soy Marinated Crab in metro ATL, I finally found the best spot. Also, their soup and stews are very comforting, perfect for cold weather. Lots of choices on the menu, very authentic Korean flavor!

First time having Korean ribs, they were huge! Very tender and flavorful. The inside also felt like a restaurant in Korea. I would come back again to try other items on the menu.

Very authentic Korean food known for having delicious side dishes , including spicy marinated raw crabs. I would recommend the galbi Jim , it's my personal favorite and is delicious. Most of the entrees they offer are traditional Korean styles of food however they added an extra menu which is a newer style Korean cuisine. Overall the food is great and the service is ok. As for the ambiance, it's every tradition Korean style and not a lot of room to move around much .

Traditional Korean restaurant my Korean friend recommended to be authentic. Lots of options from their menu. Tried a lot of the dishes for the first time. Would like to come back and try others next time. Being friends so you can share some of the large entrees.

We came for lunch, almost got seated immediately, the service was courteous, got barley tea which is interesting. we ordered HUK YUM SOJUN GOL, a hot pot with goat meat and rice; and MUL NANG MYUN, cold buckwheat noodles,. Well, the goat meat in the hot pot was overcooked with almost no shape but not tender, broth was spicy, but not original soup, it's kind of mixed broth, I liked the rice better; for the cold noodles, it's okay, nothing to comment. The environment is nice and cozy. Maybe we will try something different next time.

Authentic Korean food. The spicy seafood stew was delicious and served 3 people. The gal bi short rib was grilled and tasty. The banchan side dishes had a variety of options. Our server, Ella, was responsive and helpful.

What a steal for all of the food options! They have an amazing sauce bar, fridged items, skewers and sides. I personally liked the skewered meats better than the thinly sliced meats. Everything was clean, fresh and restocked well. Both of the broths we got were flavorful; spicy broth (less spicy) and pork bone broth. The customer service was also amazing. The guy kept checking in on us and keep wanting to ensure we try all the right things and had enough food. I will be back and will be bringing all of my friends and family!

There even is a soda fountain if you're anything like me and live off Diet Coke. Service has always been on point during my family's visits to MLBB. There's a lot of premium or "premium" type of ingredients like pig intestines that you don't really expect to find at that many hot pot spots. I love pig intestines, and I'm proud of it. Heh, but like really, don't knock it till you try it. I'll always recommend MLBB first for people looking for a hot pot spot in the Metro Atlanta area.

Each experience is just as enjoyable as the first, and the quality remains consistently impressive. The customer service is excellent, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. There is also a wide variety of ingredients available to customize your bowl. Since everything is priced by weight, I recommend selecting only as much as you are prepared to eat. Having tried every option on the menu, my top recommendation is the spicy hot pot beef broth. It is extremely flavorful, though customers should be mindful when choosing their spice level, as even the medium option can be quite spicy. My second favorite is the dry spicy mix, shown in my photo. After experimenting with the different broths, this became my preferred choice. However, it is best suited for those who enjoy a drier style, and the spice level tends to feel more intense compared to the soup-based options. My third choice is the tomato beef broth, which was my least favorite personally. Lastly, the spicy and sour beef broth was acceptable, though it did not particularly appeal to my taste.

For our broth bases, I chose the Mara while my boyfriend picked the Deungchon-- both were flavorful and great choices. While waiting for our hot pots and meat, I checked out the hot bar, which had side dishes like tteokbokki, japchae, fried rice, and more. I had some dishes from the bar as little appetizers, and they were tasty. For meats, we mostly ordered the non-fatty beef, brisket, and rib-eye. The meat quality was good. My boyfriend also ordered a round of clams and mussels. I personally wasn't too interested because they looked a bit unappealing, but he said they were okay. As a quick intermission from the shabu, we both enjoyed the shaved ice dessert. Unfortunately, near the end of our dining experience, while finishing our last plate of meat, my boyfriend noticed something crawling on the table. He lifted the water cup and found an inchworm. We think it may have come from one of the vegetables we grabbed earlier. We notified our server, who simply squished it and asked if we wanted a new cup. We declined and decided to leave. The inchworm incident definitely brought the experience down significantly, even though it happened near the end of our meal, and it honestly made me consider giving this place only two stars. However, I'm hoping it was just an unlucky mistake because I otherwise enjoyed 9292 Shabu and hope they improve their sanitation practices moving forward.
