Will never go here again. We asked for a light bake on the crust, go home and the crust is literally burnt, so was the cheese. We called and told them they said to bring it back, we did. Drove 20 minutes to bring it back (total 40 minutes) and ask to be refunded or at least for a discount because now we have cold wings at home. The manager was extremely rude and told us we get a free pizza (the burnt one). My boyfriend told him he didn't want a burnt pizza...we wanted a refund. The manager refused and stormed off. If we weren't so hungry we probably would have told them to keep both pizzas and give us a refund because the service was THAT bad. I worked in food service so I don't say things like this lightly. That customer service was unacceptable. You do not make a mistake that bad and then say here have a burnt pizza for your inconvenience. read more

This use to be one of my favorite pizza places in Bristol. That's not saying much cause Bristol food stinks overall. Use to be better years ago. Seems like they may have cut costs somewhere on ingredients. But I think this is likely best pizza in Bristol. Again not sure that's saying much. I typically get the Buffalo Chicken Pizza which is solid. Like how it's pieces of breaded cutlets on pizza. Also I enjoy the boneless wings with the Chunkys special sauce there. It's some kind of Buffalo mix. Very good. The place itself is a dump on inside though. Not the cleanest looking either. Nowhere to sit. It's pure takeout. Staff looks like they just crawled out of bed and are half awake. Prices are insanely high considering its Bristol and location of this place. I experienced the Chunky Tomato food truck at a party I was at and they were cranking out so many different types of pizzas I couldn't believe it. They were the wood fired type pizzas and the crust was perfectly cooked and bubbly and the variety of toppings were anything you could ask for. The chicken finger pizza was out of this world and the margarita pizza sauce was soooooo good! I have also had take out and it was the same yummy goodness as I experienced from the food truck. Chunky Tomato is located in a small plaza with a handful of other stores that share less than 10 parking spots? Upon entry, there are a few counter seats for eat in. Pizza, the main reason why I came, was good. True to their name, their pies have chunks of tomatoes! Good ratio of sauce to cheese. Nice slices that hold up to the one-handed-fold-over-eating. I am unsure what makes their pizza so good but highly recommend. I was in Plainville for awhile, and there seems to be a running joke about the excess of pizza places in New Britain. I would always 10/10 recommend no other pizza place in this vicinity. We've tried their classic cheese, pepperoni, sausage, etc. But landed on the fave combo of broccoli/mushroom/sausage. Love the quality of the sauce and cheese on the pizza...you can taste the freshness. Even the crust is enjoyable :-) Staff was very friendly and nice. Its an "order 2 go" type of place. We typically go here 4-5 times a month, but the last three times have not been good. Just tonight when going to pick up our pizzas they weren't done. Ok, well after another 35 minutes waiting there (75 minutes total time) I get the pizzas and they're over done. No sorry, just here's your food. This spot was recommended by a friend and it exceeded expectations. Yesterday, we placed an order for a Big Boy Meatball Sandwich with provolone cheese and peppers. I only gave it 3 stars because of their topping prices. It may sound silly but when an establishment wants to charge $2.50 PER toppings, I have a problem with that. IF my pizza was blanketed with toppings i would understand but that's not the case. Also, to go along side this ridiculous revelation is their hospitality. Their hospitality is not warm at all. Just picked up two grinders for football Sunday. Meatball for my husband, Italian for me. Both "Big Boy" size. First of all, it was enough to feed four or five. I can't say enough about my Italian. I have been disappointed so so so many times by the restaurants that sell this type of sandwich. CHUNKY NAILED IT! Real Italian deli meats, perfectly sliced. Which if you like this type of grinder you know can just slap all that meat on. :) It was well constructed. Perfect amount of Oil and Vinegar and Mayo. Sweet and Italian Long hots.
