    Margarita pizza

The food was very delicious. Though I wish they had more options for drinks. Like chocolate milk or juice for the kids. But overall it was a good experience.

I used to go to Leo's more frequently when i lived almost nx door to it on Wolcott Hill Rd. But Im ordering again tonite and expect the same delicious pizza (and grinders) they always make. Quick service, good pizza (yes you can order thin crust) and they always seem to be WORKIN HARD!

This is our second time here and it's as fantastic as it was the first time! The sauce is great and crust perfect! We live about 30 minutes so it was go big or go home!!

Clam pizza with white and anchovies.

First and foremost Leo's make's great food. I ordered the clam pizza with white sauce and anchovies and it was delicious. I also ordered a cold cut style hoagie and chicken wings. The sandwich was very good which I ate on my plane ride the following day. Customer service is awesome, not sure if I was speaking with Leo, but he took my order and relayed everything back exactly as ordered. Leo's also called me back to ensure I wanted fresh basil on the pizza which was great. That is important to me considering I live in Nevada and l'm lucky to get a "hello" most days from businesses. Delivery was prompt and super friendly. I highly recommend Leo's if your passing through or if you live in the area. Great job, keep it up!

    Inside Leo's for a slice

One of the most important aspects of good takeout/delivery pizza is that it has to withstand the steam circulating around the hot pizza when the lid closes. Leo's is our neighborhood pizza joint and it has that classic delivery crust type (a bit heartier than New Haven style, but not too thick) that holds up on short trips, and the cheese and toppings all hold up well too. Leo's has a few tables, but I would say it's more of a takeout/delivery outfit. One of my favorite parts of a Leo's pizza is the sauce. The flavors are balanced and each pizza has a healthy amount of sauce. Today, I just got a slice of cheese pizza that was ready in minutes and I like that they have that option. Leo's also has my favorite meatball grinder in the immediate area. The meatballs are very good and they slice them, which is great for sandwich management. The mozzarella is perfectly melted. The sauce is very good, and they have topping choices like grilled onions and peppers. The bread holds it altogether nicely, but keeps the focus on what's inside. These are some of the reasons why Leo's is our regular place for quick turnaround pizza and grinders.

    Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Leo's Pizza is located right in the middle of a neighborhood towards the center of Wethersfield, a 3 minute walk from my house. I do not get food here often is it's just okay but you know what, I just had two pizzas from here and they were very......very good. Service was fairly quick with my pick up order, they were very nice and claimed business was a little slow during this COVID-19 pandemic on a Thursday afternoon. I was able to try their thin crust bacon margarita and their buffalo chicken pizzas. Before I complained that their buffalo chicken was really greasy and the chicken was very dry but this time around, complete opposite. Their bacon margarita was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved it. Plenty of bacon bits, beautiful thin crust, quality cheese, tasty sauce, just much better than I could have ever expected. I feel like Leo's Pizza has been her litterally forever and they pretty support that claim on their website. I am very lucky to have quality pizza this close to me in the middle of my own neighborhood. I've tried their chicken tenders and a grinder somewhat recently as well and both were very good. They've done a great job this time and the last few times I've had their food so I'll glady update my review as they deserve a better reputation.

The ambience inside hasn't changed, it's still very relaxed & delicious smelling inside. We sat down at a table & a glass of water was placed in front of us. They must use a great water filter because water lately tastes like bleach. This was great water! A few moments later a side of thin crust pizza was placed on the table as an appetizer instead of just bread, nice! We each ordered an entree. Rosie got eggplant parmigiana & it came with a side of fresh made pasta. I got the spinach fettuccine & yes, the Fettuccine was freshly made! I figured as they got more established the food would get better but it does not. The worst experience was most recently when we ordered a standard calzone. Their calzone is not normal at all. It had thin slices of potato that looked and felt like the texture of a raw onion and low grade meat. There was barely any cheese and zero ricotta in this calzone. Not only that but I actually laughed when I saw it because the entire calzone was burnt - literally black. To my surprise after trying a bite the bottom was severely undercooked and doughy. Just so odd. FYI carbonara is supposed to be their staple but I was not a fan. Super bland and underwhelming but I'd definitely order that over the calzone any day!! I will not be returning.

That's the downside and I would give it 3.5 honestly because of it. Service was alright, our waiter wasn't bad, but he told us pizza will be right out and we still waited 20 minutes. All we ordered was a small firebird pizza. Sally's apizza describes it as "Mozzarella, Sally's tomato sauce, oven roasted chicken, diced sweet and hot peppers, onion" The flavor is really good and I do like how thin crusted the pizza is. Next time I would like to try the meat specialty pizzas. Last time we got cheese and pepperoni and it was good. The pepperoni is a but greasy but it's expected.

I wanted to give them a second chance. Sometimes businesses have bad days and I don't like to judge based off of one experience unless it's super bad. Well, this time was worse. Ordered the chopped salad. All you could taste was dressing and it was soggy and swimming. Barely any meat. Then the pizza came. One half had pepperoni and hot honey and the other had meatball and ricotta. The pepperoni side was literally disgusting. Like the salad, it was completely drenched in hot honey and sickly sweet. It was pooling on my plate. You couldn't taste the sauce, cheese, and toppings. Speaking of the sauce, there was little to none, had no flavor, and it was canned. I know canned sauce when I taste it. This was especially shocking because Sally's is known for their sauce. I'm very disappointed because I usually love the sauce at Sally's l, but this wasn't it. And then there's another problem: the pizza came out burnt and cold. New Haven style is slightly charred, not BURNT. It wasn't just the crust; it was also the undercarriage. See the photos I attached. It also took 50 minutes from the time our order was placed to get our one pizza when the restaurant wasn't even at half occupancy. Service was terrible!! We weren't even offered red pepper or parm with our pizza and weren't asked if we wanted dessert. Not like we wanted to stay after that mess, but it would've been nice to be asked. Our server was never near our table and it took a long time to get the things we wanted. We felt completely ignored all night. I feel like this is totally understandable on a busy night, but the place wasn't packed by any means and there were only a few tables occupied. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes after we finished our pizza before our server came around again and just handed us the check and walked away without a word. Not coming back.

Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was kind, attentive, and whenever something was forgotten, she immediately went to speak with the kitchen and tried to make it right. It was a really good size and I ended up taking half of it back with me, something tells me it's gonna be even better the next day as most Italian food is.
