I was pumped to checkout Chupacabra Taproom doing my Mesa race weekend. Friend at work goes down to Mesa all the time and loves it. I asked her give me one place need to check out for first timer. She like need check out Chupacabra Taproom. Ironic. Post race party one of the coaches decided on Chupacabra!! Hell yay!! It really was perfect spot post party celebrate everyone crushing it on race day. It not very big inside but they have big outdoor seating area. Inside tough big groups we had over ten so split it up at one point. We moved it outside more closer as group chat with everyone. The inside small love fact taproom vibe. Main bar area center most part, all taps lined up, and bar area plus few tables around. The menu is HUGE beers. It hard to choose but ask bartender picked good one. I love the vibe! They don't really serve food. We went across the street someone got pizza and brought it over not problem. Later that night taco truck opens up get food. Someone got nachos. Tried bite and it was good. Highly recommend looking place to drink, hang out with friends, and weather perfect (it was spot on that night) sit outside they music playing hear inside or outside. Cool place to be!!

This place is one of the best taproom I have ever visited in the entire US. A lot of options, *interesting* options from ale to porter. We first tried the mead from Redstone Meadery and imperial porter, Beachwood Mocha Machine. We then got a taste of old stock ale from The Bruery Cire and oh my... I fell in love. Its a high percentage, 18.9%, but not harsh at all. Sweet, if anything. I really fell for it and now I am looking if I could get the whole pack of those. Really friendly people, nice environment, perfect for people to enjoy a nice beer.

What a great place to grab a drink! Chupa always has the best IPAs on tap. The vibe is always super chill. There is limited seating indoors, but plenty more outside. They have heaters for the winter, and misters for the summer. There is no food served, but they typically have food trucks parked right outside, or you can go right around the corner to Phantom Fox to grab a delicious pizza to go with your beer. Bartenders are all very friendly! Check it out next time your in Mesa and have a hankering for a drink!

I love Chupacabra! I don't drink alcohol so it's so nice to have a local spot that has a decent selection of NA beers. I'm able to get the Athletic IPA and sit on the nice patio out front and enjoy the quiet side street and nice weather. It's usually quieter on the weeknights and can get pretty hopping on the weekends, with music and occasionally events. The bartenders are knowledgeable and great at giving recommendations. I always bring my out of town friends here as part of the best spots. While they don't have food, they usually have a food truck out front or you can bring your food from one of the local places round the corner.

My friends and I LOVE Chupacabra Taproom - It is such a welcomed an awesome addition to downtown Mesa. The space is intimate, with a U shape bar inside, a few tables and standing space, in addition they have a comfortable outdoor patio. The vibe is on point, as the taproom is an older house, with exposed brick, the outdoor patio sports hanging lights and ample picnic tables. We typically sit outside with our doggos and play board games while enjoying a brew. The service is friendly and though there is usually only one or two bar tenders behind the bar, they are on top of it. Now to the beer - They have a great selection, from cans to 20+ beers on tap (guesstimate), the always have a great sour selection, which is my go-to, so I am grateful for that! As far as food, they do not have any in-house food, but offer rotating food trucks and of course, seem to have no issues if you bring any of your own from the other local DT Mesa options. It's a great spot to hang with friends at the beginning, middle or end of your nights, anytime of the week! Check them out!

Fun fact it wasn't until about 8 years ago that I got into crafted beers/breweries, I was never one who liked IPA's and that's what most friends/fam would be into so I never got into until a friend told me that since I like black coffee I need to give a stout a try and I haven't looked back since then. I was out walking the area and found Chupacabra Taproom, thought it looked interesting and went to give it a try. They have about 32 beers rotating at any given time from crafted breweries from Arizona and across the states, but what got my eye was at any given time there is a handful of stouts to try, so I have been on a stout discovery, I really haven't found one I disliked and have found many I love! Chupacabra has become my goto spot to bring friends to grab a beer and catch up. Looking for a cool taproom go give them a try!

This place is the perfect addition to a downtown area that has struggled in decades past. Chupacabra (a name I love!) may be quaint aka small, but it is the perfect place to gather with a group of friends or coworkers and enjoy something local. They feature 25+ taps with beers from all over Arizona. My fave is anything they tap from their neighbor, Cider Corps. I suggest you go on an evening and sit out on the patio (they'll be installing misters soon) and enjoy whatever food truck they have stopping by. You won't be sorry. read more

This is the jukebox in the joint that I had previously mentioned as non-existent. So obviously, they have a jukebox. But there is a live music every once in a little while. I came here once with my brother and there was trivia going on. There is definitely a lot of fun activities to be included in, or just watch. Chupacabra has food vendors sometimes! The music and the food in this atmosphere is very enjoyable! And I'm honestly very glad that Chupacabra place popped up in my area. read more

Just recently stopped in for my first time after hearing about it from a coworker and I was very impressed. Cool little spot and I would definitely become a regular if I lived closer. Lots of tasty beers on tap and the bartender was super friendly and helpful in providing a few tastes as I made my final selection. My friend had a glass of wine and also loved it. I asked for a specific beer, got what appeared to me to be the wrong one. So I questioned the pour and was assured I got the correct beer. After a few minutes was approached by employee saying they did in fact give me the wrong beer and gave me a 10 oz pour of the correct beer!? I purchased a pint? I guess a few sips of the wrong beer was the reason why I only got 10 oz of the correct beer? Seemed very odd? read more

I'm overdue for a review of my favorite local watering hole. This has become my go-to to-go place to get beer during the pandemic, both of their great selection of crowlers as well as cans. This will probably be my first stop for a pint when things reopen. Check their selection of high quality beers and ciders (local and otherwise) on Untappd; they also have wines (check online). Great, relaxed ambiance, and friendly owners/bartenders. They still have food trucks like Goat & Ram, which provides a great excuse to stop by. read more

Love this bar ! You meet the best locals- great beer and overall always a good time. The beer selection is huge so they will have something that you enjoy, the bartender is knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction. The curb appeal at this location is AMAZING and inviting. I LOVE the old brick style quaint building and they have a nice patio. They allow takeout from surrounding restaurants to enjoy inside or outside. They have a food truck that visits but I didn't try the food yet. One of the reasons I am giving 5 stars is because the gentleman that waited on us went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. My friend insisted on sitting outside (COVID reasons) even though the weather was questionable. He took the time to start the patio heater and checked on us during our stay. I also enjoyed my beer. So happy that customers can grab a meal of their choice and enjoy a beer or wine (the beauty is each person in the party can have something different to eat and everyone isn't pigeon holed into having the same food from the same restaurant). read more

We discovered Chupacabra Taproom because we were in the area to try Cider Corps. The tasting room is fairly small but gives you a chance to get to talk with the bartender! They have beer and wine options from a variety of places and at least 20 taps for beers! The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the products. He allowed us to sample a few different options of beer and wine before we made our decision about what to order. When we come back to the Mesa area, we will be sure to check back in at Chupacabra!! read more

100% you need to come here. Is that enough to get you in here? No? Ok, they have an AMAZING beer menu any beer person would LOVE! Need food? Ok they have a food truck! A good time? 100% these guys are helping revive downtown. Don't walk, run! I promise a great time in downtown Mesa. I loved spending time with the owners, amazing men who love what they do. I do not know where to start. Over 32 taps on draft, more or less in cans, workers are insanely charismatic and knowledgeable. There was a certain vibration that made me feel welcomed and appreciated from the second I stepped foot in the taproom. The brews were insanely good, and has such a wide range that anyone can find something that they will like. I would demand, not recommend, that everyone places Chupacabra Taproom into their weekly rotation. read more

I was out running errands on a Wednesday night and was in the mood for a good cheesesteak. Decided…read moreto pull out my phone. and instead of using Yelp, I actually just punched cheesesteak into Waze, and what do you know?! I ended up finding the cheesesteak joint. This is actually a food truck, which is parked on the side of the Tipsy Catcus, which is a really cool brewery I also checked out while I was waiting for my order. This is a really chill brewery, and not a huge spot. Maybe 8 to 10 high top tables with bar seating, and a mostly open floor plan. They have a small patio too, with what looks like about another tables but because I visited at night, nobody was outside. They also seem to be extremely dog friendly as they had one table with a really chill cocker spaniel completely laid out on his side in the middle of the floor. I'm not sure how many taps they had in total, but definitely more than 40 I would say. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I ordered a cider. The cider I was served was on tap and really tasty. And it definitely hit the spot of terms of price point. One thing to note, while I was talking to the owner/manager of the tipsy cactus (shout to him because he was really cool), he told me that Friday night and Saturday nights are usually popping so I wouldn't expect to be first in line on any of those nights. It also looks like they rotate food trucks on different nights, so don't assume that the cheesesteak truck is going to be here every night. I would check the tipsy cactus website, or Instagram page to be sure. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking this place out again in the future, especially if I'm hitting one of the food trucks parked outside.
